Delicious chicken skin for a late night snack. Stopped by "Torikawa-ya" on the way home on foot in Minami. Thanks to the information program, this famous Hakata Torikawa-ya has changed its name at some point. Had a draft beer with hijiki seaweed as the appetizer. Chilled green peppers for 350 yen plus tax. The green peppers were crunchy, but the saltiness was a bit of a concern. Also had the recommended zuri sashi for 400 yen plus tax, made with fresh chicken. Had to try the torikawa, with two each of sauce and salt for 130 yen plus tax each. It was rolled up nicely and had a crispy texture. Enjoyed a highball slowly and finished up early today. There were also solo female customers, making it a casual and welcoming place. Torikawa-ya is a great spot for a drink.

It was a good experience like being at an izakaya. The chicken skewers weren't my favorite, haha. But there were plenty of other menu options, so we didn't have trouble finding something to snack on. The prices were reasonable, and the staff were friendly. Personally, I wish they had some better whiskey options.

Last time, the place was really crowded with a lot of customers, but this time it was really empty, so we sat at the counter. They asked if we were okay since it was close to last order, but we were totally fine. After that, a few more couples came in. I love chicken skin, so we ordered 4 pieces each with sauce and salt. It was delicious again today. I love that I can eat quickly and leave.

I stumbled upon this shop by chance and it was just right - not too small, not too big, not too noisy. The food was delicious and just the right amount. Unfortunately, the mentaiko tamagoyaki was too sweet and firm for my liking. They served a set of moromi, yuzu pepper, and mayonnaise at the beginning. I'm currently into moromi, and I got hooked on eating cabbage with moromi.

It was my first time visiting this restaurant, but from the moment I walked in, the staff seemed aloof and slow to take our food orders. Even when we ordered drinks, they took a long time to bring them. The yakitori was delicious, but overall the experience was disappointing due to various inconsistencies. Despite that, I will give it another try because of the tasty yakitori.

Before the start of the Golden Week holiday, I visited this restaurant with my drinking buddies. They had made a reservation for us at this popular spot, which was my first time there. The place was packed with customers, showing how popular it is. We started with a toast with beer and highballs. We ordered edamame, sesame amberjack, liver sashimi, and vinegar motsu. The appetizers were okay. For yakitori, we tried chicken skin, seseri (neck), gizzard, and vegetable wraps, among others, and they were all delicious. The only downside was that the staff's attitude could be a bit harsh. Despite being young, they sometimes come off as condescending to customers, which might rub some older patrons the wrong way.

I went to Torikawaya in Fukuoka. Even though I was already full from drinking in the afternoon, everything was so delicious that I could eat more. The tsukune with sauce inside an eggshell was stylish, and the sesame mackerel was also tasty. The atmosphere in the tatami room was nice overall.

It was a long time since our last visit. The food was as delicious as ever. There were more than 10 groups without reservations who were turned away at the door. We got tired of hearing "Do you have a reservation?" We ended up spending 14,000 yen for two people because the food was so good. We each had three to four drinks.

I had three types of chicken skin (salt, soy sauce, sauce), green pepper cheese skewers, and potato salad. The soy sauce flavored chicken skin was refreshing and delicious. The green pepper cheese skewers were disappointing, as they were microwaved and then torched. The person grilling the food wasn't wearing a mask and was talking a lot, and there was no atmosphere encouraging people to wear masks, so I left the restaurant early.

The specialty of Hakata, "torikawa," is made by removing excess fat over several days, repeatedly grilling and cooling the chicken skin until it becomes a crispy and flavorful delicacy. The restaurant, which is also named after this dish, was crowded with followers, and I was seated at the counter. It was a bit cramped next to another customer, but I watched a handsome young man at the grill, not the typical master. The chicken skin was crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, delicious! I also ordered pork belly, heart, and chicken tenderloin before quickly leaving. The popularity of the restaurant naturally attracted a lot of customers, so I wish I could have stayed a bit longer.

I was in Hakata, so I searched on Tabelog for a place where I could eat Grilled Chicken Skin, and found this place with good ratings. It had a nice atmosphere and the staff were really great. Despite being young, they were energetic and efficient. I ordered various dishes, including chicken skin with salt, sauce, and soy sauce, which were all delicious and I could eat as many as I wanted. I also tried vinegar motsu, a Kyushu specialty called basashi (horse sashimi), deep-fried pig's trotters, beef sukiyaki rolled skewers, cheese and bell pepper rolls, pork and shiso rolls, and extra-large beef tongue skewers. Everything was delicious, especially the maruchou (round intestine) which was amazing. I tried all the different flavors of chicken skin to confirm my preferences, and then ordered more of the ones I liked. Highly recommend!

One of the famous local dishes in Fukuoka Prefecture is Torikawa. It is different from Torikawa in other prefectures as it is thinly sliced chicken skin wrapped around a skewer, chewy and delicious. This specialty shop offers Torikawa in various flavors such as soy sauce, sauce, and salt, allowing you to choose according to your preference. I recommend trying all the flavors. Additionally, their grilled Shigi (plover) is also delicious and a must-try. What sets this shop apart is the wide variety of chicken sashimi available, including gizzard and liver. They are tasty and go well with Torikawa. Highly recommended.

I was already full from lunch, so I started this day around 10 pm. I searched for a place that was still open and ended up here. It's been quite a while since I last came. First, I toasted with a beer. I ordered 5 pieces of chicken skewers with sauce and a few other skewers. It's late, but there are quite a few customers here. It seems like most of the staff has changed since I last visited about a year ago. The skewers are still delicious. The vinegar tripe is also great. They offer mega sizes for both beer and highballs, which is helpful. It's a good place for a casual drink. Thank you for the meal.

Nowadays, chicken skin, which can be said to be a specialty of Hakata, has become popular. There are many shops offering it, but the original shop is still the best. However, the other menu items here are also quite good! Especially the liver and intestines are really delicious. It seems like the grilling technique is top-notch. Honestly, when I first entered, I thought it was a mistake that only young people were working at the grill station. Handling food is important for safety, and I was worried if it would be okay. However, the grillers were skilled. The only downside is the service. If only young people are working, the atmosphere at the restaurant can become a bit lax. The staff tends to chat amongst themselves, and it lacks a sense of urgency. It's a shame because the food is so good.

I chose this place for a meeting with my friends from Hakata. There are many wonderful restaurants around here! Among all the places in Hakata, I am particularly interested in this area. Nowadays, you can enjoy Hakata-style yakitori restaurants all over the country, but I still want to eat it locally!

Second stop of the day. It's been a while since I visited Torikawa-ya. It's quite busy. They also have a mega size option! Ordered 10 bottles of Torikawa's sauce, as usual. I was already full, so just had that today. I was quite drunk, so I forgot to take photos (lol). But I enjoyed drinking and chatting leisurely! I'm grateful to have a delicious Torikawa-ya nearby. Thank you for the meal!

Neighbor. My partner really likes it here (^^) The teriyaki sauce here is particularly delicious. I like it a lot! As our second stop, we had a light dish with tomatoes and teriyaki. The fact that they have mega-sized beers is a big plus for us drinkers (lol) The staff are also very friendly. We will definitely visit again (^ω^)

(The quality of the cigarettes is unknown, but luckily no one was smoking) Now, the main attraction is the chicken skin, famous from the TV show "Kenmin Show". The restaurant's name is straightforward, just "Chicken Skin". We tried chicken skin, pork belly, eel, sausage, and quail as grilled dishes, and as a side dish or salad, we had salted and dried green peppers with salted kelp. The chicken skin tasted just as expected, but when dipped in chili pepper or Sansho pepper, the flavor was enhanced. The pork belly was cut into squares and seasoned with salt. The best dish at this restaurant was the salted and dried green peppers with salted kelp. Fresh green peppers were cut into chunks and simply topped with salted kelp, but it was a great combination. We had two highballs and one hot water with a wooden paddle. I heard that Yoshida Yoko loves the hot water with a wooden paddle, and it was my first time trying it, but it was good. Thank you for the meal. It's still before 8 o'clock, so I'll probably visit two or three more places.

I always rely on this place (laughs). It's the perfect spot for a casual drink. My partner seems to be dropping by quite often (laughs). The yakitori here is consistently delicious. Personally, I recommend the camembert cheese skewers! A great choice for cheese lovers. It's a relaxed place to drink, but the cigarette smoke from the next table can be a downside. It's unavoidable at the counter, I guess. That's the only disappointing part.

I came here again! What's great about this place is that it's easy for solo diners to come in (lol). Lately, I find myself stopping by after work. Also, for those who love draft beer, the frozen mug it's served in is irresistible. It has a sherbet-like feel that's hard to describe (lol), it's a personal preference! My recent favorite is the Tsukimi Tsukune! The chewy texture of cartilage is amazing! As the name suggests, the chicken skewers here are delicious! Especially the sauce (lol) It goes perfectly with beer! Even after drinking two large draft beers, it's only about 3,000 yen, thank you! I'll be back again (lol) Next time, I'll come with my partner.

I wanted to eat chicken skin, so I visited this restaurant. While waiting, I had sesame amberjack. The chicken skin with sauce was recommended and it was decently delicious, but I wished it was a bit crispier. However, the second order was perfect. They also offer salt and soy sauce, and the salt was good. The liver was large and creamy, and the marinated chicken gizzard was crispy on the outside, which was nice. Overall, it was a nice restaurant.
