A few years ago, I found out that they roast their own coffee beans at this shop and offer hand-drip hot and iced coffee for takeout. I had never visited until this day. When I arrived at the shop, I debated whether to get hot or iced coffee, but ultimately decided on iced coffee to enjoy on the go. Inside the shop, the owner kindly assisted me and informed me about the large size option for the iced coffee, so I ordered the large size. The iced coffee I purchased was well-chilled with a refreshing bitter taste, perfect for the still hot day. While you can easily get a 100 yen iced coffee at a convenience store, getting a high-quality iced coffee from a renowned shop like Marufuku for 200-300 yen felt like a great deal. While waiting, I searched for cafes nearby on Tabelog and found Marufuku Coffee. It's a coffee shop with a long history. I thought they roasted their own beans, but the owner told me that's not the case. They are Marufuku Coffee Shop, while the roastery is a different business. The shop was established in 1919, so it's been around for 103 years. The current owner is the 4th generation and was very kind and gentle. They served me a hot original blend coffee, which was delicious.

I asked for something without acidity and chose the Blue Mountain Blend 200g for ¥2000. When I drank it at home, it was incredibly delicious with no acidity. Since it was only available for takeout, I held the coffee in a cup without a lid in my right hand and planned to take it home on my bike. As I crossed the pedestrian crossing, a guy on a bike came from the opposite direction looking absent-minded, and we almost collided, causing me to spill some of the coffee. Therefore, the amount of coffee in the picture is about 10-20% less than usual. Also, it was clearly not cold enough, so I took a sip before adding ice and finishing it. The taste was equivalent to 100 yen coffee from convenience stores like Seven-Eleven or Lawson, with a slightly better aroma. I recommend visiting the store to experience the atmosphere.
