I moved from Shibuya Dogenzaka to a narrow alley in front of 109 on Dogenzaka (turn from Yoshinoya). On this day, they were out of lamb so I chose the misuji steak. It was my first time trying it since I usually have lamb, but it had a great chewy texture, like "the meat!" It's good for meat lovers. I sprinkled salt and pepper, poured raw sauce, and topped it with wasabi. Delicious! The rice and soup set is only 100 yen. The rice has barley mixed in, so it's low in carbohydrates. Even though it's a large portion, the price is the same! And for lunch, it's free! Hot.

I really wanted to eat meat, so I visited around 7 pm on a weekday evening. As I was looking at the menu outside, a server showed me in just as another customer was leaving. When I mentioned it was my first time, they quickly and politely explained everything. Today, I wanted to skip the rice and just eat meat, so I chose the Misuji steak, 300 grams, no, maybe 400 grams? After much deliberation, I settled on 300 grams. It was served in about 10 minutes, and I was told to enjoy it while it cooked. There were a few seasoning options, but salt, pepper, and wasabi did the trick. The meat was tender, and the hot plate kept it warm as I ate. The wasabi had more of a kick than I expected. The first floor only has a counter, so even a woman dining alone can feel comfortable, and it was easy to eat. It seemed like they had a quick turnover, so it's a great spot for a satisfying solo meal. Next time, I'll go for 400 grams. Thank you for the meal.

It's been a while since I went to Shibuya for lunch and I ended up here to enjoy some meat on my own (or with a group, of course)! The energetic staff who work efficiently are also great. I ordered the Juicy Steak 300g, with the option of choosing medium for the rice. The tender meat, cooked on a hot plate, is delicious when seasoned with rock salt and wasabi. I also enjoyed changing the flavor with the Awaji Island onion sauce. It was a delightful meal. Thank you!

I visited a lodge-style steakhouse I stumbled upon on my way back from the movie. The juicy 300g steak was priced at 1800 yen. I didn't have high expectations since it felt like a downgrade version of Ikinari Steak, but surprisingly, it was delicious. Considering the price, I think it was worth it.

I recently got hooked on a steakhouse where I enjoy a quick 200g steak after working out at the gym. The side dishes are bean sprouts & cabbage and corn, but you can also switch to broccoli for athletes! Quite a few girls come here too, maybe they're on a diet!?

I recently discovered a restaurant that I am currently obsessed with. There are several reasons why I love it: 1. Chicken steak is good for dieting. 2. They have a wide variety of condiments. 3. Set meals are free during lunchtime. 4. The barley rice is amazing!! It has 40 times more dietary fiber than white rice. 5. They offer a variety of meats (including kangaroo and Genghis Khan). I try to avoid carbohydrates, but I can enjoy barley rice without worries at this restaurant. I always order the chicken steak, which comes with barley rice and soup for only 980 yen (excluding tax), making it a great deal. You can choose from small, medium, or large portions of barley rice. The food is served on a hot plate without much of a wait. The plate includes chicken steak, onions, bean sprouts, cabbage, and corn. It's always served piping hot, so I never put any sauce on it to avoid splattering and extra smoke. They offer a variety of condiments such as rock salt, real wasabi, smoked salt and pepper, pepper, garlic sauce, soy sauce, making it fun to experiment with different flavors. Personally, I enjoy eating it with smoked pepper and rock salt. Of course, I also like their original sauce. The portion size is generous, the taste is delicious, and the barley rice is the best!! I want to go there every day.

Today, our group made a mistake with the reservation at the restaurant and found out it's actually next month, haha. We decided to split up, and some of us went to this steakhouse instead. Everyone ordered 400g steaks, so I ended up getting one too! It was a struggle to finish, but I managed. The rice was brown rice, which was just right for me. I think the price and portion size were pretty good. Overall, I enjoyed it! Cheers!

I visited for the first time since they moved. I was a little sad thinking that the shop on Dogenzaka had disappeared, but to think that they relocated! The charming mountain hut is still there, which is a relief. The interior has a counter where it's easy for solo diners to enter. I was pondering over what to order when... ・Juicy Steak 400g + Mountain Hut Set (rice, soup) The Mountain Hut Set can be added for free until 3 pm. I put on a paper apron and waited for a while. Soon enough, the sizzling sound of the iron plate arrived. The meat came with sautéed vegetables and corn. Many people were adding mashed potatoes, but I passed on that this time. I spread out the meat to sear it for a bit. The soup isn't pictured, but the crispy wakame was delicious. The chewiness of the barley rice was also nice. And the variety of seasonings was a delight. Rock salt, pepper, smoked salt and pepper, garlic sauce, original sauce, wasabi. I like to eat it with the original sauce and wasabi, so I just kept using those. I cut the meat into small pieces once it had a nice sear. The meatiness was irresistible. There were some slightly tough parts, but overall it was tender and easy to eat. It stays warm for a while and I enjoyed it until the last bite. Actually... the staff were chatting quite a bit, which caught my attention at first. But once I focused on eating and facing the meat, I forgot all about it. My meat cravings were satisfied. Thank you for the meal.

Surprisingly, there was no noticeable difference between before and after the renovation. So, I decided to check out the neighboring tenant, which used to be Hagashobo until 9 years ago but has now been transformed into a mountain hut style. Steak Lodge Shibuya Dozenzaka Store When it comes to kangaroo meat, it is famous for being cost-prohibitive to domesticate as livestock, as it is all supposed to be wild game. I remember being surprised when I saw it being sold inexpensively in Cairns. Although I had never tried it before and it was quite pricey, I decided to order it because it's not something you can easily find elsewhere. Kangaroo steak 200g 1925 yen + Mountain Hut Set A Lunchtime Free Despite being wild, the lean red meat lacked a strong aroma or flavor, and it was not fatty. I think it's similar to deer meat. The parts with tough sinews had a chewy texture and brought out more flavor. Come to think of it, kangaroos stand upright and have pouches, which gives them a strange appearance, but otherwise, they look a bit like deer. I wonder if they end up looking like this from eating only grass. A group of four young male university students ordered the sirloin 300g each without rice. If I were braver, I would ask the staff to give me all of their rice. I would even be willing to give each of them one piece of seaweed from my soup.

The newly renovated "Steak Lodge" was unexpectedly good. I had originally planned to go to the tonkatsu restaurant next door, but it was closed, so I decided to try the Lodge instead. It was quite crowded during lunchtime, so I sat at the counter. I ordered the "Juicy Steak 200g (1375 yen)", which came with free rice and soup during lunchtime. Although the price seemed a bit high for a lunch meal, it felt reasonable for a steak. The steak that was served was larger than I expected and looked delicious with its sizzling sound. Following the instructions on the wall, I first tried it with rock salt, enjoying its simple taste. However, it tasted even better when I poured steak sauce over it. The combination of wasabi was excellent, leaving a refreshing aftertaste. I didn't have high expectations for a cheap chain steak, but it turned out to be delicious and gave a sense of luxury. Considering the taste and portion size, I found the price of 1375 yen to be reasonable, and I would definitely visit again if I have the chance. Rating: ★★★★★★★★★ 8/10. The menu has changed a bit since last time, and the dish with two types of meat is no longer available. It's a shame. This time, I tried the lamb for the first time! It was tender and delicious~ (^O^) This location is much closer and more convenient than the Udagawacho branch, so I will definitely come back when I'm in Shibuya.

I wanted to eat meat, so I ordered a Juicy Beef 400g with 250g of chicken on the side. I think it's a good value for the price. It came out on one plate. The beef can be cooked to your liking with residual heat. There were two types of sauces, onion sauce and garlic sauce, as well as soy sauce, wasabi, rock salt, pepper, and smoked salt for seasoning. The wasabi is great for refreshing your palate after eating the meat.

At the Daikanzaka branch, they have relocated to a location near the station, making it more convenient to visit. The staff are friendly and energetic. I arrived just before 1 pm and although it was full, I was seated within 2-3 minutes (they also have a 2nd floor). There were more men dining. I ordered the juicy steak 200g (1375 yen) for lunch, which came with barley rice and soup. I asked for a small portion of rice (100g) as I prefer to eat more meat than rice. However, I ended up with leftover rice towards the end. The sides included cabbage and corn, which were served promptly in 7-8 minutes. The meat had some tough parts, but overall it was satisfying.

Visited on Sunday at 12:55, the seating rate on the first floor is about 50% although I'm not sure about the second floor. I was curious about the tenderness of other menu items from my last visit, and I had a 200 yen discount coupon from my previous visit, so I decided to revisit after two days. Since it was lunchtime today, I was informed that rice and soup come with the meal when I was seated. When I asked the staff which of the Chicken, Skirt Steak, and Harami was the most tender, they said it was the Chicken, so I ordered 250g of Chicken with broccoli topping. The soup arrived promptly, which was the same Wakame soup as three days ago. About 5 minutes later, the dish arrived. Unlike last time when I was told to cut it into small pieces before eating, this time I was advised to eat it after it was well cooked. I first spread the steak sauce over the meat and checked the doneness before starting to eat. It was tender and delicious! It goes well with the vegetables. Mixing it with the sauce makes the rice go down smoothly. The price for just the meat during lunchtime was 1188 yen including tax, but with the 200 yen discount from the coupon, the total came to 988 yen. I was able to pay with my Suica card. The rice portion was free, and lunchtime is indeed cost-effective! Since I received a coupon this time, I might try the Skirt Steak or Harami next time.

Yesterday, I received a flyer for a newly opened restaurant offering a 200 yen discount, but I was too full at the time so I visited later. I went on Thursday, May 11th at 3:35 PM, and the first floor was about 90% full. The atmosphere of the restaurant is like an American country log house. When I sat at the counter, I noticed that the people next to me were eating steak without rice, maybe they were on a low-carb diet. Oh, wait, until 3:00 PM, you can get a rice set for free, which was 320 yen otherwise! Well, with the 200 yen discount, the rice set became less than half price. I ordered the Juicy Shoulder Roast Steak (300g) and rice soup set. When the dish arrived in about 10 minutes, I was instructed to cut the meat into small pieces with a knife and fork due to its chewiness. First, I poured steak sauce on the vegetables and rice on the table, and it was delicious! The combination of vegetables, meat juices, and steak sauce on the hot iron plate mixed well with the rice. Now, onto the meat. When I tried to eat a piece, it was really tough! The server's advice was right, I couldn't swallow it, so I had to spit it out on a napkin and cut the rest into smaller pieces to eat. There were also some tough parts in the meat, so I couldn't finish about a third of it. I wish they had told me about the chewiness when I ordered, not when the dish was served. The total bill, including tax, was 1,956 yen after the 200 yen discount from the Shoulder Roast (300g) for 1,804 yen and the rice set for 352 yen. I was able to pay with my Suica card. I recommend cutting the meat into very small pieces, about one centimeter, before eating. The taste was good, the atmosphere was nice, and the staff were friendly, so I'll go back again and ask for a tender meat option before ordering next time.
