Visit on June 26, 2018, post on June 27, 2018 (all information is based on the visit date) (prices are all excluding tax) After the earthquake, the Ion Tuesday market is back for the second time. This time, all the food court, restaurants, and food stores that were sparsely open last time are now fully operational and bright, which feels great. There are no more restrictions on the menu. At "Kushiman," they offer an "Aged Curry, refillable roux for ¥300." It was still early, around 10 am, but since I was there, I decided to have lunch there. I tried the handmade udon at "Kineya." The Seibu Takatsuki store has finally reopened as well. I had the "Akamoku Nenba Toroudon Tempura Set Meal for ¥1047." The cold noodles were topped with red seaweed, grated yam, egg yolk, bonito flakes, and chopped seaweed. Red seaweed is a type of seaweed that is distributed throughout Japan except for the eastern part of Hokkaido. Recently, it has become available in major supermarkets. Red seaweed not only helps with constipation but also reduces visceral fat, improves diabetes, aids in weight loss, and boosts immunity. I mixed in the separate sauce and condiments thoroughly and enjoyed the enhanced flavor compared to regular grated yam udon. The smooth noodles had a good texture, and I truly enjoyed the udon. I ended up with leftover grated yam. It would have been better to have the noodles increased by half instead of the grated yam, especially since it's free on Tuesdays. Nevertheless, just the grated yam alone is delicious. The tempura, although smaller than shown in the menu photo, was crispy and hot. It can be enjoyed with both tempura sauce and salt. The set meal comes with a choice of inari sushi or mixed rice, and since I have a sweet tooth, I chose inari sushi. However, mixed rice might be better as it could be topped with the leftover grated yam. Overall, Ion Takatsuki is mostly back to normal, except for the continued closure of the rooftop parking lot.
