There is a new steak and yakiniku restaurant specializing in black wagyu beef called Sanpei in Tsuruhashi. It seems like the owner, Maruki, who runs a ramen shop in the same area, is behind this new venture. The restaurant has a counter seating layout, suitable for solo diners or small groups. They offer a lunch menu, but it's only displayed outside, which can be a bit inconvenient. During lunchtime, even regular menu items come with complimentary rice and wakame soup. We ordered the special kalbi, half & half of premium kalbi and pork, and a trio of hormone meats. The meats were decent, although some found them a bit fatty. It seems like trying their steak would be the real test. They also recommend trying the tanburg during lunch. The meal comes with rice, wakame soup, and namul as complimentary sides, and you can have unlimited refills of rice and soup. Overall, it's a good option for a casual solo yakiniku experience, especially since they also serve ramen if you want to finish off your night in one place.

Samppei, known for its garlic ramen in Tsuruhashi, has a new concept: Hormone Trio Platter for 780 yen (comes with rice and wakame soup during lunch service). The platter includes maruchou, hatsu, and senmai, as well as juicy black wagyu hormone. For 780 yen, you get rice and wakame soup, making it a great deal. They also offer high-quality black wagyu such as sirloin and chateaubriand at relatively reasonable prices.
