I went on a Sunday. When I arrived at the shop about 30 minutes after opening time, there were about 5 groups waiting outside. Although it's not a place to relax and have tea after eating, the turnover rate is relatively fast. The premium steak was already sold out, so I went with the steak with egg topping. Delicious. I finished it quickly and felt a bit reluctant. I wanted to order extra meat, but should I stop here since it was delicious and I still want more? It was tasty until the end without feeling greasy. I want to try the premium steak next time.

I went to the restaurant "Niku-ya Kurokawa Uji Main Store," where there was already a line forming before opening. Even though it was a weekday, there were already 5 groups waiting in line. Without a doubt, they were all there for the extremely limited "Premium Steak Donburi." I arrived 15 minutes before opening and quickly purchased the Premium Steak Donburi with a raw egg from the ticket machine inside the restaurant. The seating was limited with only 2 tables and counter seats, but the turnover was fast. While waiting, I chatted about the difference between the Premium Steak Donburi and the regular Steak Donburi, and the staff explained that the difference lies in the fat content. After a 10-minute wait, the delicious-looking Steak Donburi was served. The expiration time was 15 minutes, so I dug in right away. The meat was tender, the sauce was sweet and delicious. I initially forgot about the raw egg, but halfway through, I mixed it in and enjoyed the rest of the meal. Eating it with the raw egg was also incredibly delicious. I finished it in no time and left the restaurant feeling satisfied. There were still people waiting outside, so I left to savor the deliciousness. I would definitely come back to line up for the Premium Steak Donburi again.

It was delicious. The cost performance is also excellent. It is the best dish where you can fully enjoy the umami of lean meat. On a side note, I arrived in front of the store 20 minutes before opening, but there was already a long line. It may have been because it was Golden Week, but I waited for about an hour and a half before being able to enter the store. Still, it is definitely worth visiting!

It's been a while since I had a "weekday lunch in Uji"! A rare opportunity, so let's go to a popular restaurant that is usually crowded on weekends!! The chosen restaurant is "Nikuya Kurokawa Uji Main Store"! This place is famous for their "Steakju" with a "15-minute expiration date"! The opening time is 11:00, so I arrived at 10:45 to make sure I could get in for the first round. Even though it was early, there were already people waiting in line. After a 20-minute wait, we were able to get in for the first round! I ordered: - Premium Steakju with Egg Yolk x2 for 2,300 yen each - Meat Coating Set x2 for 200 yen each The Premium Steakju is described as having high-quality, lightly melting fat that offers a delicious melt-in-your-mouth experience. The meat was tender and the fat was delicious. The sauce was also to my liking. Next, I tried the Steakju with egg yolk, but it didn't enhance the flavor of the meat. I also tried adding mountain pepper, but it didn't add much to the dish. Overall, the best way to enjoy the Premium Steakju is to have it as it is, without any additional toppings. The miso soup included seaweed, green onions, and wheat gluten in a flavorful miso broth. It was delicious and hot. If I have the chance to visit again, I would go for the simple Premium Steakju without any toppings. The Steakju is really delicious and highly recommended!

The top quality dish was unfortunately sold out. I ordered the Egg Yolk Steak Don. The steak was soft and had a creamy texture. It was very delicious, but I am curious about the top quality option. It was more filling than it looked. I visited before 12 pm on a weekday and waited for about 20 minutes. There is no parking lot, but there is a parking nearby. Thank you for the meal.

I visited Kurokawa-san, a butcher in Uji. They also have a store in Kiyamachi, but it was closed for the day, so I drove from Kyoto Station. It took less than 30 minutes, and there is a coin parking nearby. By the time I arrived around noon and looked at the menu, the highly recommended steak bowl was sold out. I ordered the steak bowl, egg yolk, and hittsumabushi. They use only selected black wagyu beef. The sauce was delicious, and it matched well with the meat and white rice. I wanted to order extra meat next time. Lastly, I left a little meat and rice and had it as hittsumabushi, which was also very delicious. The highly recommended steak bowl may not always be available depending on the procurement situation, and it sells out quickly, so I will try to come right when they open next time. I wish there were more restaurants like this in Tokyo! I would love to visit again when I go to Kyoto. Thank you for the meal!

Today, I came here. On the way back from eating eel with my family, I suddenly saw a huge line on the sidewalk while waiting at a traffic light (゜o゜) Surprised?! I quickly looked it up when I got home, and it seems to be a meat cuisine specialty store that handles black wagyu beef, which has been featured on TV. For me, it's rare, but I arrived 15 minutes before opening (゚∀゚ 三 ゚∀゚) Huh? No one is lining up yet haha( ´;゚;∀;゚;) sweat. After that, people gradually started to gather, and when about 9 people were lined up, they opened. The compact and calm atmosphere inside the store, with the kitchen on the right, a high counter with 5 seats in front, and 2 4-seater table seats on the left. It is run by 3 young men and women who work briskly. The menu consists of 4 items: "steak set, premium steak set (super limited quantity), yakiniku set, seared meat taco set," and then meat topping, toppings, and drinks. Of course! I ordered the super limited quantity "premium steak set with egg yolk topping" from the ticket machine ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ After a while, it arrived♪ The black wagyu beef with a nearly raw appearance was beautifully colored, topped with an elegant soy sauce-based sauce, and when eaten with rich egg yolk, it was delicious♪ The refreshing sauce does not interfere with the original flavor of the meat. The wasabi served as a good accent, and the effort to keep it interesting until the end is also great. The miso soup with wakame and wheat gluten was average. I finished it in no time, and even though I have a small appetite, I could probably eat another bowl of ramen (^^; So, the cost performance is hmm↓ It was delicious, but I feel like I prefer something a bit more like yakiniku... Therefore, the expiration date for all menu items is 15 minutes⏳ Rice, meat, egg yolk. With the dreams and hopes of all humanity, I took a hearty bite. I can't find words other than delicious. I can easily eat 5 bowls of rice with just the steak sauce... When you break the egg yolk and mix it with the meat, it becomes even smoother. Adding wasabi gives it a sharp taste. I can now understand the daily long lines. Niku-ya Kurokawa Uji Honten in Kyoto is a fantastic steak bowl restaurant located about a 5-minute walk from JR Uji Station. They serve delicious steak bowls that are so good, it's impossible not to enjoy them. The restaurant is only open for lunch, but even on weekdays, there is always a long line of customers waiting. I was so absorbed in eating the steak bowl that before I knew it, I had finished the whole thing!笑

Located a 5-7 minute walk from Uji Station is the meat restaurant Nikuya Kurokawa Uji Honten. There is usually a long line starting around 11 am, so be prepared to wait for 30 minutes to an hour to get in. Once inside, the service is quite relaxed, and it can take over 20 minutes from ordering to being served, which explains the line. This time, I ordered the popular menu item, the yakiniku bowl with a topping of raw egg yolk. The quality of the beef is outstanding, with any bitterness from cooking well covered by the rich miso sauce. Crushing the egg yolk adds a creamy texture, making it a satisfying meal. If you want to enjoy a high-quality beef dish, be sure to visit this place. Thank you for the meal!

I visited the restaurant alone around 11:30. After visiting Byodoin Temple, I felt a little tired of Kyoto cuisine, so I decided to visit here. There were about four groups waiting, and the wait was about 20-30 minutes. I ordered the steak rice bowl with egg yolk and garlic topping. The tender meat with sweet sauce was delicious. I added some sansho pepper for a different taste, which was a great combination! The garlic topping was generous, so it might be good to share. The rice portion was small, but it was just right for me as I ordered a beer.

I had the yakiniku (Japanese BBQ) set meal. The main dish was steak set meal. I was hesitating until the last minute, but I had to choose yakiniku because I can only eat well-done meat. The meat is so delicious!! The refreshing, tender meat with sweet and savory sauce over rice is really tasty.

Before heading to Byodoin Temple, we stopped by this restaurant. There was a long line outside. We purchased meal tickets inside the restaurant and placed our order, but it took a long time for the food to arrive. The dishes were decently tasty, but the restaurant itself was small.

I came to Uji and decided to visit Kurokawa-san, a restaurant I had been wanting to try for a while. Since the restaurant doesn't have its own parking lot, I parked at a nearby coin parking lot. I arrived around 1 pm and there was no wait, so I was seated immediately. The premium steak bowl was sold out, so I ordered the steak bowl instead. I'm not sure if they can adjust the doneness of the meat, but the steak bowl that came out was rare. The steak sauce mixed with egg yolk was creamy and delicious. The meat was tender without any sinew, but being rare, it was a bit difficult to chew. The amount of rice in the bowl was noticeably small. The thickness of the rice under the meat was about 10mm, which was quite thin. You can add extra rice for 110 yen, so I opted for that since the regular portion was too little. I'm not sure if the portion size is fixed or if it varies depending on the person, but the regular portion was definitely lacking. I wanted to eat the meat and rice together, but ended up eating the meat separately since there was too much meat and too little rice. In the kitchen, a young staff member, possibly a part-timer, was chatting the whole time, which was clearly visible and audible due to the open kitchen layout. Despite coming to enjoy delicious food, the atmosphere was lacking. I asked my friends the next day, and they mentioned that Kurokawa-san is a popular restaurant and it's rare to be able to walk in without waiting during lunchtime. It may have been the case before, but it seems like the hype has died down now.

If you want to eat the best, you have to be prepared to wait in line. The taste is amazing, so it's a must-visit restaurant. The downside is that there are not many seats, so there is always a line. I went at 12 o'clock and waited for about an hour and a half. Adding extra meat made the dish look more colorful.

After visiting the Byodo-in Temple in Uji, I heeded my mother's recommendation and visited the butcher shop Kurokawa in Kyoto. The waiting time was slow, with 5 customers ahead of me on a weekday at 11:53. Fortunately, there were 5 chairs available while waiting, which was nice. I entered and bought my meal ticket at 12:27, and by 12:40, my steak bowl was served. I ordered the Steak Bowl with Egg Yolk Topping for 1760 yen. The thin slices of meat were arranged on a layer of rice about 2cm thick. The meat, from Kagoshima, was tender and had a good bounce. The slightly sweet sauce enhanced the flavor of the meat. The wasabi was refreshing and paired well with the sweet sauce and beef. However, I felt that the egg yolk topping, while visually appealing, didn't quite complement the meat. I should have opted for garlic topping instead. The board mentioned that they use domestic black wagyu beef, Hino Hikari rice from Okumura in Fushimi, and special eggs from a local poultry farm. My companion, who is not a fan of red meat, ordered the Yakiniku Bowl. I tried a piece of the meat and found it to be overly seasoned with soy sauce and too thin, almost overcooked. It was just the right amount for a food tour in Uji. Overall, the meal was delicious. The staff consisted of about three college-aged employees. Despite being a popular spot, the atmosphere was a bit dark and off-putting.

I waited for about 40 minutes before entering the restaurant. There were about 10 people waiting outside. After being seated and buying my meal ticket, I had to wait another 30 minutes before my food finally arrived. I wanted to eat the special dish with egg yolk, but it was already sold out so I settled for the regular one. The meat was very tender, almost to the point where I didn't need to chew. However, the sauce was too little and the meat was thinly sliced, so it felt a bit unsatisfying. The miso soup that came with the rice bowl was bland and lukewarm, to the point where I thought they didn't need to serve it at all. The server mentioned that there was barely enough miso soup left for 2 more bowls, which felt like a cheap move. The lack of enthusiasm from the man cooking was also very off-putting. Despite the restaurant receiving good reviews online, I was disappointed after waiting for a long time. I don't think I want to go back there again.

I went to the steak specialty restaurant "Kurokawa" and had a meal ☺️. The simple taste that brings out the flavor of the ingredients. I felt it lacked a bit of punch. It's quite crowded even on weekdays, so I recommend going early! ⏩ Wagyu steak bowl ¥1,500 (excluding tax)
