The table seats are close together, so you have to speak loudly to be heard. It's quite noisy and tiring to talk, so it's not suitable for a date!! I stopped by "Shinjidai Fukuoka Tenjin Store," a chain izakaya that has been aggressively expanding in Fukuoka for the past 1-2 years. Their signature menu item, "Denshuku," which is fried chicken skin skewers, is highly praised. Curious about what it tastes like, I visited the restaurant. The restaurant is located near the intersection of Nishi-dori and Kokutai-doro, with a sign on the heavy sliding door saying "Manual operation." Upon entering and informing the staff that I was dining alone, I was guided to one of the precious four counter seats in the restaurant (laughs). I started with the famous Denshuku skewers (¥50 each, additional) and a medium-sized draft beer (¥190). The service was quick, and the skewers arrived almost immediately, along with the complimentary kimpira. The Denshuku skewers had an amazing crispy and chewy texture, providing a two-stage flavor experience that exceeded my expectations. I decided to add another skewer and ordered a refill of beer, as well as a tonpeiyaki. Although the secret powder sprinkling did not dramatically change the flavor, it was still delicious. The tonpeiyaki was like an omelette with various ingredients. However, the narrow aisle between the counter seats and the tables behind me was a concern, as passing customers occasionally bumped into my back, making it uncomfortable and unpleasant. I decided to end my visit there for today. The total bill was ¥1,551. If I had been seated at one of the many available table seats, my impression might have been different. There are other branches of this restaurant, so I hope to have a more relaxed dining experience at a different location next time. Thank you for the meal.

They had a crispy texture on the outside, but were chewy inside... Perfect as a beer snack. It's different from Hakata's chicken skin, but it's amazing that they can offer this for 55 yen. Maybe it's a game changer? I actually wanted to order one more dish, but it seems like the order didn't go through, so that was it. The total bill was 704 yen, and in the end, the otoshi turned out to be the most expensive item...

I visited a new izakaya that has been opening one after another in Fukuoka in the past few months. The main dish is chicken skin skewers for 55 yen each, and all the other izakaya menu items are also priced cheaply. I ordered 21 chicken skin skewers and a beer to start. I was intrigued by the menu item called "Annoying Potato Salad" so I ordered that as well. I also ordered a few other dishes. The "Annoying Potato Salad" is a recent trend of self-mixing potato salad, and this restaurant claims to be the originator of it (famous for their kushikatsu, Tanaka). When I tried it, the fluffy potatoes were delicious. The new specialty dish, "Charcoal-grilled Parent Chicken," had a nice texture and was tasty. The "Chicken Umami Tare Yukke" was a bit watery but the sauce was delicious. The edamame, cabbage with salt dressing, and cabbage and chicken egg salad with sesame dressing were all reasonably priced, so I was worried that the portions might be small, but they were actually quite substantial. The cost performance was excellent, and everything was simply delicious.
