I visited this restaurant for the first time, having previously visited the one in Umeda. I arrived without a reservation before 5 pm (it seems they open at 3 pm). There was only one other group of customers, so we easily found a seat. We started with a large bottle of beer, and they served us appetizers. The bacon with vinegar miso was delicious, especially the darker parts with stronger flavor. It had been years since I last had whale cutlet, and it was not even available at the Umeda location. They also served whale tendon and oden. The variety of drinks was great, and the atmosphere was cozy. However, I was a bit bothered by the fact that the oden took a while to arrive. Unlike other restaurants where you can see the pot, it was not very visible here. I understand that items like seaweed and raw wheat might take time after ordering, but why did the egg and white konjac take so long? Despite this, I still enjoyed the experience and will definitely come back.

The dashi uses katsuobushi and a special kind of bonito flakes called "mejika-bushi" from Souda, known for producing a rich broth with the sound of whales and dolphins. The octopus sweet stew is a specialty and is served as an appetizer. It was soft and flavorful, very delicious. The accompaniment for oden included a special mustard made with wasabi and Japanese mustard mixed with vinegar, which enhanced the taste of the oden broth, making it very delicious. The most delicious dish was the Izumi onion. We also enjoyed dishes like daikon radish, shredded konjac, pickled ginger, whale cutlet, fried oysters, thick fried tofu, Izumi onion, cheese-filled seaweed rolls, mochi pouches, grilled ginnan (ginkgo nuts), and cream cheese. Everything was delicious and we left feeling satisfied and warm. They open from 3 pm, so we were able to enjoy day drinking. Thank you for the feast. (^人^) Thank you very much.

Established 178 years ago! Amazing, isn't it? There are the main store and the Umeda branch, but the Takoume has split into different branches over the generations! Each has slightly different flavors, tastes, and business stances, but it all depends on the customer's preference. The shop that used to be in the underground Rainbow Town era, now in Namba Walk, has moved here. Some may not know about the strong reputation it had back then. There are 12 counter seats and 4 tables for 4 people each. The main feature here is the cheerful atmosphere, led by the famous landlady. We drank a lot, from beer to shochu soda, and then to sake. We got carried away and drank a lot of sake. We started with the specialty, sweet simmered octopus for 600 yen. A menu item since 1844. The octopus used to be more tender in the past. Nowadays, with octopus being scarce and prices high, it's understandable. We also had sesame and chrysanthemum salad for 440 yen as a side dish. The oden with a solid flavor made from whale broth. We also had onion tempura for 330 yen, konjac for 110 yen, sasagaki gobou tempura for 330 yen, egg for 220 yen, taro for 880 yen, and beef for 1100 yen. After a break, we added more. We had sardine meatballs for 330 yen and thick fried tofu for 220 yen. We finished off with that. When you come here, the landlady of Takoume will talk to you normally about the lineage of the restaurant. The bill was quite high, as expected from a place where we drank a lot of local sake. But it was a satisfying experience. Thank you for the meal.

It was a gentle tasting oden with whale broth ♡ I don't often eat oden at home, so it's even more special when I eat it out (/・ω・\)アチャー... Today, the temperature was extremely low and cold, so I felt like eating oden and came to "Minamitakoume" here. I actually wanted to go to the one in Dotonbori, which is part of the same chain, but it was full! There are counter seats and table seats, and I chose the counter! Sister store of Takoume located in Dotonbori. There is a popular okonomiyaki restaurant on the second floor, and when I saw the long line, I almost decided not to wait. A rare Oden restaurant in Kansai with a rich broth. There is a long counter in front of the Oden pot, where a few regular customers were sitting and drinking. Only the counter seats were non-smoking, while the other seats were smoking. It's a casual Oden restaurant with an izakaya vibe, perfect for a quick drink. Recommended for those who want to eat Oden in Namba!

When I was strolling around Namba, I saw a popular okonomiyaki restaurant with a long line. Below it, I discovered a shop called Kantouni Minami Takoume. I decided to stop by for a quick drink. Takoume is a famous traditional Oden shop in Osaka. I entered around 5:20 pm and the place was almost full. It's a very popular restaurant. I was seated at the counter in the back. I had a freshly squeezed sudachi chu-hi, the famous sweet simmered octopus, and some oden. The chu-hi really got me going (laughs). It was delicious! The simmered octopus was tender. I also tried the whale tail, upper palate, and whale tendon-filled pouch. Whale meat is tasty! I had a couple of chu-hi refills and it came to about 5,000 yen.

◯Namba Night Oden and Drinking at Nankotsubai ◯I wanted to drink while enjoying some oden (Kanto-style hot pot), so I headed to "Nankotsubai" located in a side street south of Shochikuza. Although "Takoume" in Dotonbori is also a famous spot with a long history, this place seems to be quite established as well. On this day, I had a delicious time drinking and enjoying various oden and side dishes. The oden had a nice balance of flavors in the broth. Another specialty here is the tender simmered octopus, which was also a great choice and very tasty. Takoume-san and her relative-like Nantakoume-san. I was in a hurry to go to Grand Kagetsu, so I was grateful to be able to enter quickly. I mistook the line at the neighboring okonomiyaki restaurant for this place, but this was the right choice. I sat in a wonderful seat right in front of the oden pot, so I ended up eating a lot of different things. The man in charge of the oden pot worked quickly and carefully, which was nice to see. We started with bottled beer, ordered a variety of oden dishes, and my boyfriend's choice of whale cutlet from the à la carte menu was surprisingly delicious. It was a cozy and nice restaurant where both my stomach and heart felt warm. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

On a chilly day, it's time for oden!! Well, everyone thinks the same thing. So here is a place for you.
Location/Shop: Located on the 1st floor of the same building as the "Okonomiyaki restaurant with long queues", this place is a relative of the main store with a similar name. However, the management is completely different, and the taste and atmosphere are also totally different. This place is more like a regular izakaya than an oden restaurant, with a bright and clean feel. *Smoking is only prohibited in front of the oden pot.
Menu: Sashimi, fried foods, various side dishes, and of course, oden. They offer a variety of classic and seasonal dishes. While they have the popular "sweet and sour octopus", there are few menu items featuring "whale".
Oden: Grilled eggplant, squid with eggs, watercress. The flavor is rich in soy sauce, with a stronger saltiness than broth. The sweetness and umami of the ingredients are subtle. This is for those who enjoy bold flavors. It goes well with beer. Due to the sudden chill in the air, the phone keeps ringing with reservations. With a history of 170 years, I was grateful to be taken to an oden restaurant by Gourmet Escort. I was so happy to have my first oden of 2018 at this famous restaurant. Takoume has several branches, but this one has many loyal fans since old times. The skewered oden, famous sweet simmered octopus, raw yuba, seaweed, squid, grilled eggplant, whelk, shirako ponzu, my favorite grilled ginkgo nuts, potatoes, thick fried tofu, daikon radish, green onion skewers, and the finale of Takarajima (rice soaked in oden broth) are must-try dishes. Oden is gentle on the body, and the broth is elegantly balanced, not too sweet. Thank you for the delicious meal.

On the first night of my trip to Osaka, I visited Takoume, an old and famous Oden restaurant with a reservation made on the same day. The prices were a bit high, but the food was light and not too heavy on the stomach. Personally, I prefer richer flavors, so it was just okay for me.
