A group of us visited the restaurant. It seemed like they were short-staffed as it took a while for them to bring us water after we arrived. We ended up having to go to the kitchen to get it ourselves. The main dishes were grilled at the table, using a local chicken called "Amakusa Daio". However, all the meat was very tough and when we tried to order other types of meat, they were not available. The drinks we ordered also took a long time to arrive, so we asked if we could make our own shochu highball at the table if they had a set, but unfortunately, they did not. Overall, we were not satisfied with the food or drinks.

Dear readers, this is my second visit to this restaurant. I couldn't forget the taste of the Amakusa Daio I had before. This time, starting with horse sashimi and liver sashimi, I went for the Amakusa Daio again! It's chewy and the more you chew, the more delicious it becomes. No unpleasant smell! Every day, I have a bento box with just one piece of chicken, so I knew I had to try Tenkamadaiou at least once. Of course, I had bought it from the supermarket and tried it before. Now, let's see the true abilities of Tenkamadaiou, a favorite of local food lovers like me. The thickness of the meat is impressive. The way the meat and skin separate as soon as you start grilling it is unique. The skin curls outwards, giving it a real free-range chicken feel. You grill it while dipping it in the special sauce from the restaurant. You can see it becoming more and more juicy with each flip of the tongs. Now, let's dig in! Oh my goodness! What is this! The texture, the taste of the fat, the bounce - it's amazing! There is absolutely no chicken smell. Even my wife, who isn't a big fan of chicken, was surprised by this! I ended up eating quite a lot. I will definitely be coming back! The Tenkamadaiou is a must-try, but the liver sashimi and the chicken breast sashimi are also worth trying! It was a thoroughly satisfying restaurant experience!

Located on the second floor of Haruyoshi's mixed-use building, Jikaro-san offers private rooms for each guest. I went alone without a reservation, but still got my own private room, which was very calming. They bring you raw chicken meat to grill over charcoal, and you can season it with sauce or salt to your liking. The prices are quite reasonable considering the location in Haruyoshi. I ordered a Caesar salad, heart, hormone, Unzen ham, and grilled oysters with garlic, all of which were fresh and delicious. I think it's a great restaurant! Thank you for the meal.

We went to "Chikaro" in Haruyoshi for a farewell party for a colleague. This building has changed to Panorama Square from Sakaba Koji while I was away for a while. It seems like the price range has dropped a bit. "Chikaro" is located on the 2nd floor towards the back. The main store is in Omuta, and it seems to be famous for their Amakusa Daio chicken. The atmosphere is cozy, with a hearth in the center. We opted for a course with all-you-can-drink. We started with a three-point platter of chicken sashimi, including gizzard and liver, which were delicious. We also had salad and edamame, and then the highlight of the meal, the Amakusa Daio chicken thighs! They came with salt and sauce, and were meant to be grilled over charcoal. The cuts were a bit large, so we had to cut them into bite-sized pieces with scissors. We also tried bonjiri and seseri. The order of dishes might have been better reversed, but it was still enjoyable. We also had seafood like squid and shishamo. Since there were many young people, we ended up ordering additional dishes like chicken breast and chicken cutlet. Everything was delicious. We definitely ordered too much. Finally, we had chicken rice to finish the meal. We were full from eating and drinking so much. It's amazing that they are open until 5 am.

I didn't know the area very well, but when I happened to stop by, it turned out to be a great find. The Amakusa Daioh grilled over a private hearth was amazing. The meat was delicious and the sauce was also tasty. They had a wide variety of shochu at reasonable prices. They also stay open late, so it's convenient for late-night meals after checking in. I only visit Hakata once or twice a year, but whenever I'm there (depending on the location of my accommodation), I always make sure to visit this restaurant.

I was in charge of organizing a welcome and farewell party, and we decided to go to Jikaronya because everyone wanted to try Amakusa Daio. We made a reservation for 18 people with a all-you-can-drink Amakusa Daio course. We arrived at the restaurant together and were seated in a private room with three sunken kotatsu tables. The atmosphere was great. We started right on time and I had requested a specific brand of bottled beer for the occasion, but the staff seemed confused and asked if it had to be bottled. I insisted on the specific brand and they were able to provide enough for a toast. As the farewell speeches began, a staff member interrupted with a lively introduction to the chicken dish. Despite this, we continued with the speeches, but the staff member brought charcoal to the table and continued the explanation. It was a bit disruptive. The food order was also mixed up, with the "daily side dish" (which was onsen tamago that day) being served first, followed by the "Momochari Yakiniku" without the option of teriyaki as stated in the course menu. One person couldn't eat chicken, which was discovered halfway through, and we had to order Itojima pork in a hurry. It took a while to arrive. The rest of the course was a bit slow, with gaps between dishes. We had salad, edamame, and then a small serving of chicken sashimi (sasami, sand gizzard, liver) for each person. The seafood grill was supposed to have two items, but only dried squid was served. We ended with chicken rice and soup. The food was delicious, but the service was a bit chaotic. Despite this, we all enjoyed the Amakusa Daio. I don't think I would organize a party here again, but I might come back with a smaller group to see if the experience is different.
