Located on a one-way street leading from the Taisho Ward Office and Chishima Public Housing to Chishima Garden Mall, there is a coffee shop next to a pharmacy. It is unclear from the outside whether it is open or closed, as there are many posters of politicians on the walls and the lights are not visible. Upon opening the door, it was open for business. It was a little past 9 am on a weekday. The shop has a narrow entrance but is deep inside. There are 3 counter seats and about 7 table seats. The chubby mama runs the shop alone. They offer two types of breakfast sets for 400 yen each. I ordered the A set, which includes toast, salad, egg, and fruit, with a cup of hot coffee. The toast was impressively thick, about 5 cm in height, and was served with a boiled egg and salad. In Kansai, people prefer thick slices of toast over thin slices, and this shop's toast was a perfect example of that. The coffee was also delicious. The clientele seemed to be mainly local elderly and women. They also had measures in place for COVID-19 prevention, with transparent acrylic panels set up. In the evening, they offer a cheap option for drinking, with one dish and beer for 500 yen. It's a good idea to transform from a coffee shop to a bar at night. I will try the egg toast next time. It was a delightful meal.

After eating Okinawa soba, I had a meeting with my boss over coffee. When I bravely opened the door, I found myself in a retro café in Osaka! The atmosphere was filled with a sense of nostalgia. The staff were friendly and the regular customers, especially the older ladies, were chatty. I ordered a simple iced coffee which was refreshing. Even though I was full, I ended up eating a sandwich that my boss had ordered without my consent. It was an old-fashioned sandwich and delicious! They also gave me a small bag of chocolate and Koala's March biscuits. There is a coin parking lot nearby and a complex facility within walking distance. This place is a rare gem of a Showa era café.

The morning set was 400 yen. The thick slices were very delicious. It was also a plus that it is a non-smoking restaurant.
