This is a shop that has been selling side dishes and bento boxes to the people of Asahikawa for a long time. They have a wide variety of side dishes, and when you order a bento box of a certain price, you can choose the side dishes to be included in the bento. They also offer a chef's choice option. This is a must-visit shop when you go to Asahikawa. The shop is always bustling with customers and the kitchen is lively and fun. I purchased hokke fry, ebi fry, kaki fry, homemade sweet and sour meatballs, homemade curry bread, special menchi, and thick omelette. The thick omelette had the perfect balance of flavors and was extremely delicious. The homemade curry bread reminded me of the taste from my childhood. Each fry item was delicious due to the freshness of the ingredients. It's cheap and delicious. I can't resist going back again. ♥️♥️♥️

During lunchtime on regular days, there's always a line at this place. It's a popular spot for the people of Asahikawa. The orders vary - some people just buy a mountain of side dishes, some choose their favorite dishes for a bento box, and some come to buy dinner side dishes. I decided to go with the GoGo Bento because I'm not familiar with the menu. The GoGo Bento comes with a variety of side dishes, such as macaroni salad, oyakodon, croquettes, white fish fry, crab stick tempura, famous nori menchi, and sweet and sour pork. All of this for 550 yen (tax included). The handmade side dishes go great with rice and really fill you up.

Today's lunch was a Seven Lucky Gods bento from Suzuki Shoten. I purchased a bento box with rice included for 600 yen. It included seaweed meatballs, rolled omelette, crab stick tempura, fried chicken, simmered vegetables, egg salad, and stir-fried vegetables. You can choose your favorites or leave it up to them within your budget. Lunchtime can get a bit crowded, but the waiting time is also enjoyable.

I have purchased from them a few times before, but this time I had a Seven Luck Bento while working as an event staff in Asahikawa. As a person from Asahikawa, I was so happy! The taste, rice, and portion size were all great, making it a satisfying lunch. Usually, first-timers tend to order too much and end up feeling very full.

I purchased a 500 yen bento box at "Nanafuku Bento Suzuki Shoten" located on the first floor of Nanafuku Building along Kaimono Park in 7-jo 7-chome, Asahikawa City. The bento had a generous amount of rice and included about 8-9 side dishes. The shop, founded in 1962, seems to be quite popular. The park is a place I used to frequent during my time working in Asahikawa, but this was my first visit to this particular shop. They seem willing to accommodate requests for specific side dishes or offer an "omakase" option. I shared the bento with my wife and we enjoyed it without reheating, as the rice was plentiful and delicious. I would definitely like to visit again if given the chance. This shop has been beloved in the local community around Asahikawa's Kaimono Park for many years. Thank you for the meal.

"It had been a while since I went there, and it was delicious! It's an old-established place, and I think Akasan has been there at least once..." said my colleague. Huh? What? I don't know that place. Is it really that good? Well, let's go right away. The bento and side dishes at "Nanafuku Bento Suzuki Shoten" are great. Located at 1F Nanafuku Building, 7-7-7 Kyudori, Asahikawa City. Map link: https://goo.gl/maps/iQAvTBg34712rjoR8. Open from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm, closed on Sundays. No parking, takeout available. Please contact the store for current opening hours, closures, and takeout availability. It's located in an old-style shopping mall with a greengrocer, among other shops. Facing the shopping park, I had no idea it was there. It was around 12:40 pm on a Saturday, and as expected, there was a line. But it seemed like many regular customers were there, and both the customers and the staff were efficient and quick. I waited for about 5 minutes. When it was my turn, I was amazed by the variety of dishes available. You can get a bento with rice and side dishes, or just the side dishes. You can even say, "Just give me this and that, and I'll pay 700 yen." I opted for just the side dishes. I had set my rice cooker to cook rice at home, so I ordered a selection of side dishes. There were ham cutlet (100 yen), zangi (fried chicken) 100g (220 yen), burnt garlic zangi 100g (220 yen), seaweed minced meat cutlet (100 yen), kombu roll (150 yen), and kinpira burdock 100g (180 yen). The total came to about 600 yen. Isn't that cheap? The kinpira burdock was delicious, with a taste reminiscent of grandma's cooking. It had a robust flavor, slightly sweet and salty, and it brought back nostalgic memories. The ham cutlet was also excellent, with a satisfying texture and juiciness. The fried dishes had a crispy coating and were not greasy. The seaweed minced meat cutlet was a popular item, but it was just okay for me. The kombu roll was moist and flavorful, with a perfect balance of seasoning. The zangi had a tasty coating and a hint of sweetness. Overall, I was impressed by the quality and taste of the dishes. I'm already thinking about when I can go back next. The store closes early in the evening, and lunchtime on weekdays is the busiest. I heard the Uo no Hana (fish cake) and croquette are must-try items. [Tabelog]

It was a rare day off for my friend and me, so we decided to go shopping in the morning. We talked about what to have for lunch, and my friend suggested having the Seven Lucky Gods bento, which we hadn't had in a while. We used to frequent this place a lot when we had offices in the city center. We arrived at the store just before 11 am to avoid the long lines that form after that time. There were various side dishes lined up, and you could either choose your own combination or go for the "omakase" (chef's choice) option. I opted for selecting my own side dishes and rice separately, while my friend went for the "omakase" with a special request to have only half of the nori mince. The best part about this place is that you can ask for half portions of certain side dishes. We enjoyed our meal back at home, and all the side dishes tasted just like they used to, very nostalgic! The nori mince we both chose was the most popular item, and it was delicious with its juicy minced meat mixed with sweet onions and crispy seaweed on top. My friend also got a curry bun, which seemed to be a new addition and had a comforting home-cooked curry flavor. The prices were reasonable, and the food had a homely taste that has been loved by the locals for a long time.

I passed by the area and felt nostalgic, so I decided to visit Shichi Fukusan after a long time. I was looking for the Nori Menchi! It's really popular! I couldn't resist and bought some freshly fried Nori Menchi to have as part of my dinner. The flavor is strong and delicious, even without reheating (^q^) This time, I only bought Nori Menchi, but I want to try other side dishes too. The curry bread is also delicious! I will definitely go back again♪

In February 2019, I revisited "Kazokutei" and had a one-coin ramen while they fried up some "Nori Menchi" for me. At "Nanafuku Bento" by Suzuki Shoten, an order-based bento shop, popular fried items may not always be available. I asked the owner, who said they could fry some up for me, so I ordered it and planned to pick it up after finishing my ramen. It seems they have raised their prices a bit since my last visit. The "Nori Menchi" is probably a seasoned mixture of fish paste wrapped in seaweed and fried. Despite being labeled as "Menchi," it doesn't have any meat in it. But apparently, this is a local favorite fried food among the people of Asahikawa. My friend from Asahikawa, who went to a nearby high school, used to snack on this after school. The "Nori Menchi" from "Nanafuku Bento" in Asahikawa seems to be a hidden soul food among the locals.

"Seven Happiness Bento" in Asahikawa, dining alone. My partner, who has been late for three consecutive days, droops her shoulders and complains of tiredness as she says, "I'll buy something today, so you don't have to make anything." I pat her shoulder and say, "Just make sure you don't oversleep and get enough rest." She replies, "Okay, thank you," and then pushes my hand off her shoulder and crawls under the blanket without even seeing me off, even letting out a grinding of teeth by the time I leave. Next stop, "Seven Happiness Bento." The name of this place is different from a bento shop, and indeed, upon arrival, it looks more like a deli than a bento shop. There aren't many tempting items, but I decide to buy the "Fried Hokke" since Hokke is expensive. The price is 200 yen, so I mentally prepare myself. The friendly staff asks, "Can I put it in a bag for you?" which shows consideration. I warm it up in a frying pan at home. The appearance makes me wonder if the batter is fried too much, but it turns out to be fine. The ingredients, which I was worried about, are not bad at all, considering the price. It's not as fresh as expected, but it's still tasty. Overall, I was not disappointed, and I think the other items in the deli might be worth a try."

At lunch, I was only half full, so I decided to buy a bento box nearby to fill up to 70%. It was lunchtime and everyone was lining up. When it was my turn, I ordered a bento box with half a nori-meatball, crab stick and cabbage salad, and left the rest up to the shop for 400 yen. The shop staff also asked me about the rice portion size, and I chose a medium size. The bento box was well-balanced and satisfying for both those with a big appetite and those who eat less. I also bought some snacks for the evening: shrimp fry, nori-meatball, ham and cheese cutlet. The nori-meatball was very popular, but there was only half left, so I couldn't buy two. The bento box contained nori-meatball, crab stick and cabbage salad, white fish fry, spring roll, ham cutlet, and pickled vegetables. It was a satisfying meal for 400 yen. After eating, I enjoyed some snacks with beer at home. It was all delicious.

Today's lunch was the worst - I waited for 30 minutes, but my order still wasn't ready. Since I don't have time, I decided to cancel and leave the restaurant. Oh, I'm so hungry now. As I walked by, I passed by Nana Fuku-san. Ah, this is it! I don't have time to leisurely eat a bento box anymore, so I bought a curry bun for 150 yen. I went back to the office, got a coffee from the vending machine, and had my lunch. The curry bun was delicious, with a crispy outer layer and flavorful curry inside. I will definitely come back soon to buy a bento box.

I'm in Asahikawa for work... It's past 10 o'clock and I have some time to spare. Since I couldn't find any open restaurants with parking, I decided to go to a takeout place. I ended up at "Nanafuku Bento Suzuki Shoten" in the shopping park "Nanafuku Building" on the first floor. It seems like the owner of the building also has a store called "Sato Greengrocer" on the same floor. They have a variety of side dishes displayed in glass cases, and you can even have them make a bento box with your favorite side dishes. It was early in the day, but a few local elderly people were already there, so it seems to be a popular spot. According to my research online, the must-try item is the curry bread. I ordered the "Curry Bread for 150 yen and Ume Onigiri for 100 yen." The staff kindly reminded me to open the bag for the warm curry bread. I took a photo in my car before eating. The curry bread was crispy from being freshly fried, with a mild spiciness that even children can enjoy. Usually, curry bread is too strong in flavor, but this one had a gentle taste that complemented the bread well. It might be the best curry bread I've ever had. The onigiri didn't specify the filling on the tag, so I bought it without asking. I was excited to find out what was inside. Considering the price, I didn't expect fish eggs, and it turned out to be a seedless pickled plum, which was a pleasant surprise. The rice was cooked firm with just the right amount of salt, but it was slightly cold, which was a bit disappointing. I'm curious about the other side dishes and will definitely stop by again when I'm transferring at the station. Thank you for the meal.

Do you know about the rice ball with seaweed croquette filling? I forgot the name but if you go, you'll know! I first tried it in front of the food market, so I thought it was made for that place, but I found it again yesterday. I've really come to like it! I'm a fan of seaweed croquette, so I knew I would like it. It's not just a regular rice croquette, there's something special about it! Maybe they calculated the amount of rice and the seasoning just right. If you haven't tried it yet, you should definitely give it a taste! Oh, and there was this delicious spicy curry sauce as a side dish! I thought I hadn't tried it before, but it turned out to be really tasty! Spicy, spicy! I'll definitely buy it again if I see it!

I had been bookmarking this shop for a long time, and finally got the chance to visit as I came to Asahikawa for work this time. It was very crowded and hot, waiting in line with excitement but also feeling a bit anxious as it was my first time and I wasn't sure how to order. I chose a 600 yen bento, but I wish there was some indication of how many items were included. When I opened it, I was disappointed to find out that the nori menchi I ordered was missing! It was supposed to be the main dish and I had selected other side dishes accordingly, so it was a bit sad to have a bento without it. I was looking forward to the nori menchi and not being able to eat it was a shock. Maybe these things happen occasionally... I didn't feel like taking photos, but unlike the packed bento in other people's pictures, mine felt quite empty. It might not be suitable for someone who is a first-timer and not a local.

This is irresistible! A specialty Nori Menchi with a surprising fluffy texture for 500 yen or 600 yen. They will make your favorite bento box for you. If you're undecided, leave it up to them!

In Asahikawa, there is a shopping park where, if you go deep inside, there is a market and a popular ramen shop. In front of the building, there always seems to be a line forming during lunchtime. Curious, I entered the building and found a bustling atmosphere in front of the vegetable and side dish section where salarymen and office ladies were buying lunch boxes to take back. The kitchen staff, mostly older women, were energetically packing side dishes into plastic containers. It seems to be a long-time favorite spot, even featured in food magazines multiple times and visited by many comedians. The main dishes are prepared before the store opens, and it seems like the second generation is now in charge. The husband is in charge of frying tempura, sweating profusely as he works hard. The second generation wife and two other women swiftly pack the side dishes into containers. Tourists and newcomers place various orders, but regular customers mostly leave it to the staff. The main dishes are priced at 400 yen and 500 yen, with customers choosing the size of rice and one or two side dishes. This time, they took a large order and left it up to the staff to decide the contents. It's actually fun because each 400 yen order has completely different contents! When back at the office, arranging the side dishes, the boss secretly chose a plate with mostly vegetables and less fried food. Surprisingly, 90% of the side dishes were brown in color! The 500 yen order included simmered vegetables, cabbage salad, sautéed burdock root, fried dumplings, chicken miso, fried egg, spring rolls, fried crab legs, and rice (regular portion). Isn't that amazing? And even though it's a carefully selected plate with less fried food, it's still quite an attack of fried dishes! If a big convenience store were to sell this, it would probably cost around 800 to 1,000 yen. And to think that they are all freshly homemade, it's truly appreciated and delicious. By the way, the regular portion of rice is like a rice bowl size, so next time, the boss will opt for a smaller portion. Everyone is like, "Seven Lucky Bento, Seven Lucky Bento," feeling as if they are opening a treasure chest. It's exciting and delightful, and everything is delicious. So enjoyable! The meal was so good, but now I have a tight stomach. Thank you for the meal!

Everything is delicious. The couple who run the place are very kind. The zangi is especially excellent. The seasoning of the onigiri is also top-notch. The curry bread is the best I've ever had. The dough is soft and fluffy, yet the curry bread puffs up perfectly. I wonder how they make it. It's easy to see why it's so popular.
