-A curry set * Butter chicken curry selection ¥1,200 tax included * Lassi selection Located a little over 10 minutes from the east exit of Ikebukuro Station on the JR Yamanote Line, this Asian restaurant has opened. It boasts "Bengal flavor." Despite being in Ikebukuro, it is quite remote, as it is a 10-minute walk away from the bustling area where offices and high-rise apartments mix. It's kind of off the beaten path, almost like a hidden gem. I wouldn't have known about it if it weren't for someone I follow telling me. The restaurant only has table seating. There are quite a few tables, and since it's a new establishment, it's relatively clean. The lunch menu consists of curry and rice sets. I was unsure which "Bengal flavor" to choose, but I decided to try the Butter Chicken Curry that had a "recommended" mark. The curry was served promptly. I took a bite. [Butter Chicken Curry] It was a thoroughly sweet butter chicken curry. It had chunks of rich butter in it, visible here and there. It had a mild saltiness and a gentle taste for a curry. The chicken thigh meat was carefully prepared, with the skin removed. It was slightly lacking for me, someone who has eaten a lot of spicy dishes... It was creamy and rich, with a typical butter chicken curry flavor. I didn't really understand the "Bengal flavor" aspect. The rice served alongside was soft round grains. It reminded me of when I went to a Korean restaurant... A drink was also included, and I ordered a lassi. It had none of the typical strong aroma of lassi, but it was quite thick. However, as it had a fair amount of ice, it became easier to drink towards the end. It was different from what I had expected, so personally, the lunch was a bit disappointing. I thought I would like to come back in the evening. By the way, the background music was ethnic music composed of percussion and wind instruments. It was a nice touch. Thank you for the meal.
