I passed by a Natto BAR in my car and decided to go back. They had over ten different flavors, including fine-grained, small-grained, and large-grained varieties. Lately, there are more small-grained options, so this time I bought the large-grained "Quail Egg," "Spicy Nara Pickles," and "Plum" flavors. First, I tried a bite without seasoning. I could taste the beans well and enjoy the original flavor of natto. The combination of Nara pickles and chili oil was refreshing in terms of texture and spiciness. I would love to try other flavors besides the traditional straw-wrapped natto. Thank you for the delicious meal! (๑>◡<๑)

This review is about Natto! I've been told by several people to buy natto from here for a long time, and I finally went. Honestly, I can't eat natto, but on TV I heard that even people who don't like natto might be able to eat this. They have three types: large grains, small grains, and minced, with flavors like red shiso, dried sardines, and grated yam with kelp. I bought the large grains with first-picked seaweed, onion, and real wasabi, and the small grains. I was knocked out by the smell, but I still tried it and, as expected, I couldn't eat natto. However, my wife and the acquaintance I gave it to both said that the large grains were incredibly delicious! My wife also praised it! I was ordered to go back in the fall!

Located near the No. 8 exit of Higobashi Station on the Osaka Metro Yotsubashi Line, this small and inconspicuous shop specializes in natto, which opened in 2016. Upon entering, you will find a glass case displaying ten varieties of original cup-packaged natto, as well as natto sauce. I prefer large natto beans, so I purchased the "Large Grain Natto with Spicy Nara Pickles" and the "Large Grain Natto with Freshly Harvested Seaweed." The spicy Nara pickles were unique and delicious, while the seaweed topping was tasty on its own. The natto base itself is delicious, allowing for a variety of options to try.

I sometimes use this restaurant near my home. In Kansai, the custom of eating natto is not as common compared to other regions, but I love it. They have several original natto products here that you can't find elsewhere. My favorite is the wasabi flavor. It can be enjoyed with rice, on tofu, mixed with pasta, the possibilities are endless. It's a great way to make your usual breakfast a little more special, or it could be a nice gift idea too!

I heard that there is a specialty store for natto and decided to visit "Natto BAR Kogan-an". It is a takeout-only store located along Tosabori Street. They offer various types of natto, from the traditional ones wrapped in straw to those in bamboo, and even customizable toppings. I bought the recommended selection of 6 types of natto, priced at 270 yen each. There are a total of 7 varieties, but I got 6 for 1500 yen with the tax included as a service. Credit cards are accepted at the store. I chose the large beans as recommended by the staff. The toppings included bonito flakes, quail eggs, green chili miso, shredded kelp, plum, and miso. The plum beans are domestically sourced. Each natto comes with white soy sauce as a topping. First, mix the natto about 30 times to get a good sticky texture, then taste it without any toppings. The flavor of the beans will stand out. Add the white soy sauce and mix again before trying it. The white soy sauce alone is delicious! Then, add the toppings. The red plum paste adds a tangy flavor that complements the richness of the natto. Quail eggs are a classic pairing with natto and the bonito flakes are simple yet delicious. The green chili miso has a mild spiciness that enhances the flavor. The miso natto combines two fermented foods for a unique taste. The shredded kelp adds a nice texture to the natto. They also offer natto croquettes, which are popular and often sell out. The croquettes are made by a renowned croquette shop called "Patata" in Daito City. They come in 4 flavors - original, yam natto, lotus root natto, and minced natto. They are meant to be eaten cold, but can be toasted in a toaster oven for a crispy texture. They also have natto dressing and natto biscotti for sale. The natto here is a bit pricier due to the high-quality toppings used. I am from Kansai, but I love natto. I heard about a natto shop where even people who dislike natto can enjoy it, so I decided to visit. The interior of the shop was surprising, resembling a traditional Japanese confectionery shop. The natto was displayed in cute containers, with each serving individually packaged. There were several flavors to choose from, and you could also select the size of the natto beans. I purchased two flavors, one with large beans and one with smaller beans. I also bought the shop's specialty natto called Naniwara Natto. The natto had a mild aroma, a soft and moist texture, and was quite different from the natto I usually eat. It felt elegant and refined.

Kansai TV's "Yoi Don" featured this place, so I was curious and decided to check it out. I love natto, regardless of being from Kansai or not. Recently, it seems like more Kansai people are starting to like natto too, right? The location is along Tosabori Street, between Tosabori 1-chome and 2-chome intersection. I thought since it's a bar, there would be a space to drink alcohol, but it seems like there isn't. The showcase inside the store is filled with natto. For those Kansai people who dislike natto, it must be painful (^_^;) Since it was close to closing time on that day, most of the natto in the case was sold out. All that was left were large natto beans, indicating that the popular ones are the small beans and grated natto. I reluctantly bought 3 large natto and 2 small natto that were left. Each one costs 270 yen. There are various flavors, and the most popular one is green chili miso. I also bought onion, plum, kimchi, and shredded kelp flavors. The large beans are meant for alcohol, while the small beans and grated natto are said to go well with rice. I brought them home and tried them immediately. The green chili miso had a spicy kick followed by the flavor of miso. The spiciness might be lacking once you get used to it. I couldn't decide if miso goes well with it or not... The soybeans themselves have a rich flavor. The best one was the kimchi natto. Well, it's a common combination that you can find in any household - just mix natto with kimchi. On the other hand, the one I disliked the most was the plum natto. The smell of natto and the acidity and flavor of plum clashed. I didn't like this one. Between the large and small beans, the small beans were easier to eat and tastier. Overall, it didn't beat my favorite black bean wasabi natto. It's a bit pricey, and considering the trip to Tosabori, it might be a bit expensive. There seems to be online shopping available, so there's no need to come all the way here to buy it. Even though it was sold out, there were natto in real bamboo tubes, as well as gift sets available, making it suitable as a gift for natto lovers. Thank you for the meal!

I happened to pass by this shop while riding my bicycle and decided to definitely stop by on my way back. There were various sizes of toppings and natto beans to choose from, and I was a bit indecisive. This time, I chose "Takehime Natto" and three large-sized toppings, all of which had a strong bean flavor and were delicious. Each of the three toppings with different flavors goes well with rice or sake. "Takehime Natto" was excellent even when eaten with salt. I think this would be a great gift as well. I definitely want to go back to buy more in the future. Personally, I recommend the "Aotogarashi Miso" flavor because it has a strong taste, so one pack can go with three bowls of rice.

I stumbled upon Natto Bar Rama while wandering around a curry restaurant. As a fan of natto, I got excited and decided to go in! I was drawn to the traditional natto wrapped in straw made in Osaka, and even bought some as souvenirs for my friends. The name Natto Bar also caught my attention.

I heard that there is a natto specialty store in Tosabori in the Nishi ward, so I came to visit. When it comes to natto, it was one of the foods I couldn't eat when I was a child. But now that I'm an adult, I have come to like it. The store is small and sells various cup natto. There are 7 different flavors available, each separated by the size of the soybeans. You can get a discount if you buy them in bulk. I decided to buy a lot! Here is what I bought: - Small size with dried shaved sardines - Small size with grated kelp - Small size with green chili miso - Small size with red shiso - Small size with first-picked seaweed - Small size with onion - Bamboo Princess Natto I chose the Bamboo Princess Natto, which comes in a thick bamboo container. It's my first time trying natto in a bamboo container. Even though the beans are thinner, the taste is the same. Mixing it with chopsticks, it becomes very sticky and stretches a lot. The smell is mild. The umami flavor is different, making it a natto that even children who don't like natto might enjoy. It's a natto that doesn't match my past memories. The store is far from my home, so I can't visit often, but I would like to go back if I have the chance. Thank you for the meal!

I visited in February 2021~ The Foodlog rating at the time of visit was 3.10 (*´∇`) Seeing is believing, but eating and drinking are even better (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)ンマ((°艸° *) I used it at the Gourmet Festival (^ー^) It might be my first time at a natto specialty store!
