I have been to the main store many times, but this time I visited the Wakakusa store near my friend's house. It was my first time. I sat in a sunken kotatsu seat. Looking out from the sunken kotatsu, the counter seems far away, and the space in between seems unnecessarily empty, but well, it's better than feeling cramped. The seasoned meat sauce is recommended, but I prefer salt because it's lighter. The meat at the Wakakusa store seems larger, thicker, and more tender compared to the main store. So, the seasoned meat sauce tasted better at the Wakakusa store. However, the seasoned meat sauce didn't have the crispy and fragrant surface like the main store, it felt a bit soggy. The sauce itself was like a thin sauce and lacked sharpness, it was sweet and also resembled a teriyaki sauce. When comparing the two, I feel like I can see the strengths and weaknesses of both stores. However, it also depends on the skills of the person grilling the meat that day, so it's not easy to determine which one is tastier. I remember that the main store served five skewers per plate, but here it's four. Or maybe all stores now serve four skewers. Seasoned meat sauce, salt, tsukune, deep-fried shrimp, cheese, and I can't remember what else we ate, even though I'm forgetful! My two companions are drinking, but I'm having tea. It's embarrassing, but I can't drink a single drop. But even without drinking, going to an izakaya raises my spirits. We were so busy eating and chatting that we only took this one photo. The onigiri in the photo is mine (laughs). This onigiri was really delicious. The way the rice was cooked was perfect! The three of us ate and drank for just under 8000 yen, it's still cheap. And we were so full. This place is like a friend to the common people. Is the ventilation here really good? I realized later that there was hardly any smoke. The next day, I didn't smell like smoke at all. Maybe it was because it was quiet on a weekday? I appreciated the good ventilation. On a side note, a year or two ago, I had the "Quail Eggs Grilled on Skewers with Shells" at the main store. I recommend avoiding it! (laughs) The eggshells get stuck in your mouth, and you end up spitting them out! (Well, maybe people who are drunk wouldn't mind, but still) [Added later] This store and the main store mentioned in the text (Nakajimacho) have different owners, it's like a split or a falling out, I heard. I didn't know this when I wrote the review, so I made a mistake, I'm sorry.
