Around Ippei, there are various shops, but the two main ones are here and Rokumon Sen. Rokumon Sen is a bit pricey, so it's not a place you can just drop by, which is why I end up going to Ippei instead. It tends to be crowded with families earlier in the evening. Instead of just eating yakitori, you can drink while enjoying a variety of dishes, which is why I like to go there. The yakitori skewers are on the smaller side, and the sauce is a light, tangy type. But there are various skewers to choose from, like bacon-wrapped items. The small portion sizes of the dishes allow you to try a variety of things, which is nice, and everything is delicious. You can order by scanning a QR code with your smartphone, which is convenient. Just be careful not to make mistakes when you're getting tipsy! It's also great that you can choose stronger types of shochu.

Sagari steak, garlic tempura, chilled cucumber, cheese shiso roll, crab porridge, motsu hot pot, etc... are all delicious! Of course, yakitori with salt or sauce is also recommended. The chilled cucumber is well chilled and goes perfectly with miso and mayonnaise. The garlic tempura is soft and the vinegar miso is exquisite. The sagari steak is tender and thick, giving it a satisfying texture. The grated ponzu sauce is refreshing and you can eat as much as you want. The broth for the porridge and hot pot is also excellent! This is a must-visit restaurant!

My husband, daughter, and I visited this restaurant for dinner on our way back from a trip. We decided to go to a famous restaurant since we came all the way to Noboribetsu. After some consideration, we ended up at Muroran Yakitori Ippai, and it was delicious! My favorite was the deep-fried natto - it was my first time trying it, and it was really tasty. The pork belly was also delicious. Thank you very much. The menu was so extensive that it was hard to choose, so I have attached a photo of the menu for reference.

Since I came all the way to Noboribetsu, I decided to eat yakitori in Muroran. The serving size is 4 skewers per portion, so I couldn't try many different types. I ended up ordering too much, so I had the leftovers packed as a souvenir! The unique seasoning of Muroran yakitori goes well with beer. Meat is always good! There was a counter, but it was crowded, so I sat at a table. As someone who does weight training, I wanted to go for chicken skewers, but I feel like the Muroran sauce goes better with fattier cuts...

When you come to Muroran, you definitely have to try the yakitori at Ippei-san. I visited the Wakakusa branch for the first time, and the spacious interior is relaxing, with many families with children. I usually prefer salt seasoning for yakitori, but the sauce at Ippei-san is just delicious!

Yakitori... here it refers to grilled pork. After several years, I had the pleasure of enjoying Yakitori in Muroran again. The one at Ichihira's place is made with pork belly and has a light taste with little fat. Whether with sauce or salt, the flavor stands out. Simply delicious! The pork loin with salt, pork liver, and heart were especially tasty. Apart from meat, the grilled leeks were also a hit. We ordered the omakase set of 12 skewers and added a few more dishes. Despite being three adults and one child, we ate quite a lot... but it felt like we could keep going (laughs). Other dishes like grilled shellfish, thick rolled omelette (slightly sweet), deep-fried tofu, ramen salad, and other izakaya menu items were all delicious. The horse sashimi was tender and refreshing, with the semi-frozen chill being irresistible. We also ordered potato fries (loaded with Hokkaido butter) and octopus balls for the kids, as well as chilled cucumbers. Including drinks, the total came to around 9000 yen. Considering the taste, it's a great deal! I was the only one drinking alcohol, as one person was a child and the other was the driver (laughs). Finally got to enjoy a Sapporo Lager on the last day in Hokkaido, which was a nice change from the Sapporo Classic I've been having at the hotel. The East Town branch I visited before was good too, but this roadside location might be more convenient. Grateful to my sister-in-law who guided me here, drove, and accompanied me. This post is dedicated to her.

When it comes to hot springs in Hokkaido, one of the most famous is Noboribetsu Onsen. The hot spring town is filled with the scent of hot water, and there are plenty of things to see. While it's enjoyable to have a leisurely meal at a hotel in Noboribetsu Onsen, it's also recommended to venture into town and try the popular yakitori. This restaurant, known for serving "Muroran Yakitori," a B-grade gourmet from the neighboring city of Muroran, is always bustling with locals and tourists. It's advisable to make a reservation in advance, as you may not be able to get a table at night without one. I recommend trying the yakitori and tsukune with a generous amount of western mustard. The side dishes and hot pot dishes are also quite tasty. Put the yakitori meat and sauce on top of rice, and you'll have an instant yakitori bowl! This is also a favorite among children!

"Murmansk yakitori" is synonymous with "pork" and "onion"! Moreover, it's a guarantee that it's "plenty of Western mustard with sauce"! As expected of a long-established Murmansk yakitori, it is fragrant and delicious! By the way, you can also eat Murmansk yakitori in Noboribetsu. Why is pork used for "yakitori"? In the early Showa period, pork offal and wild birds were often skewered and grilled at food stalls, and gradually pork, which was cheaper and more readily available than chicken, came to be called "yakitori." Since onions are produced in Hokkaido, they are more affordable and have good compatibility with pork, so they became established. I prefer yakitori with green onions, but I'll forgive (for what) Murmansk yakitori. The yakitori at the izakaya was delicious, such as ★ Pork wrapped in perilla leaves with "perilla" instead of shiso, which is cute. It also has melty cheese and the accent of perilla is effective. Delicious! ★ Cheese tsukune Not just topped with melting cheese, but it was delicious with some extra effort put into it. I should have savored it more. ★ Grilled rice balls (with miso soup) This is the way to finish at Ippin! It was recommended, and it was delicious! The rice ball has bonito flakes and cheese inside! The miso soup that comes with it is also delicious and heartwarming. The finishing rice ball was delicious! It's crowded at night, so making a reservation is recommended! Thank you for the meal!

Husband, mother, younger brother, and I went out together. While driving and thinking about what to eat for lunch, we spotted a lunch flag in front of a restaurant called Ippei! Oh, they serve lunch at Ippei, that's great! We decided to eat there. Ippei is a famous restaurant for Muroran yakitori. Oh, they have Noboribetsu Enma yakisoba! Noboribetsu Enma yakisoba is a local specialty yakisoba in Noboribetsu, with over 30 restaurants in the city serving it. Each place has its own unique twist, offering different flavors. My mother and brother had the yakisoba, while my husband and I ordered the yakitori plate. The yakisoba had flat noodles and was slightly spicy, and my mother enjoyed it. The yakitori plate had rice topped with yakitori and salad on the side. It was more filling than expected. We also ordered additional types of yakitori - liver, heart, tongue, gizzard, and beef skirt! My husband even ordered a beer. It felt like we were at a regular yakitori restaurant at night, not for lunch. But overall, Muroran yakitori is delicious!

I went to the restaurant after seeing Usanomama's review! I took the train and then a taxi to get there, but the parking lot was full. There were groups of people drinking in the back seats and at the takeout counter. When it comes to Muroran, yakitori and pork yakitori are popular. Nowadays, it's common for them to come with Japanese mustard. The prices for yakitori are in the 280 yen range, while tsukune and rolls are in the 300 yen range. It's great to have motsu stew in this cold season! What I liked the most was the tsukune with shishito peppers inside. There are also tsukune with natto inside. The restaurant offers a variety of side dishes and is a convenient place to visit.

I have been to the main store many times, but this time I visited the Wakakusa store near my friend's house. It was my first time. I sat in a sunken kotatsu seat. Looking out from the sunken kotatsu, the counter seems far away, and the space in between seems unnecessarily empty, but well, it's better than feeling cramped. The seasoned meat sauce is recommended, but I prefer salt because it's lighter. The meat at the Wakakusa store seems larger, thicker, and more tender compared to the main store. So, the seasoned meat sauce tasted better at the Wakakusa store. However, the seasoned meat sauce didn't have the crispy and fragrant surface like the main store, it felt a bit soggy. The sauce itself was like a thin sauce and lacked sharpness, it was sweet and also resembled a teriyaki sauce. When comparing the two, I feel like I can see the strengths and weaknesses of both stores. However, it also depends on the skills of the person grilling the meat that day, so it's not easy to determine which one is tastier. I remember that the main store served five skewers per plate, but here it's four. Or maybe all stores now serve four skewers. Seasoned meat sauce, salt, tsukune, deep-fried shrimp, cheese, and I can't remember what else we ate, even though I'm forgetful! My two companions are drinking, but I'm having tea. It's embarrassing, but I can't drink a single drop. But even without drinking, going to an izakaya raises my spirits. We were so busy eating and chatting that we only took this one photo. The onigiri in the photo is mine (laughs). This onigiri was really delicious. The way the rice was cooked was perfect! The three of us ate and drank for just under 8000 yen, it's still cheap. And we were so full. This place is like a friend to the common people. Is the ventilation here really good? I realized later that there was hardly any smoke. The next day, I didn't smell like smoke at all. Maybe it was because it was quiet on a weekday? I appreciated the good ventilation. On a side note, a year or two ago, I had the "Quail Eggs Grilled on Skewers with Shells" at the main store. I recommend avoiding it! (laughs) The eggshells get stuck in your mouth, and you end up spitting them out! (Well, maybe people who are drunk wouldn't mind, but still) [Added later] This store and the main store mentioned in the text (Nakajimacho) have different owners, it's like a split or a falling out, I heard. I didn't know this when I wrote the review, so I made a mistake, I'm sorry.

When it comes to Muroran, yakitori and curry ramen are the specialties. This time, I went to the famous Ippin restaurant to try their yakitori. I originally planned to visit the main store in Nakajima-cho, but it was too crowded so I ended up going to the Wakakusa branch nearby. The menu and flavors may vary slightly even within the same restaurant chain, so it's better to think of them as separate establishments. In Muroran, yakitori is typically flavored with sauce rather than salt. They use plenty of sauce to season the pork meat, which is called "seishiniku" in Muroran. I personally prefer salt, but when in Muroran, I usually go for the sauce. This time, I ordered pork meat, tongue, liver, and pork belly, with only the pork belly seasoned with salt, while the rest were flavored with sauce. Since the order was for 4 skewers, I couldn't try many varieties, but I still enjoyed the Muroran-style yakitori. We also ordered a few other dishes, but they were quite ordinary. It would be nice if they could add some unique dishes like salads or appetizers to attract more customers, especially considering the fierce competition in this area with many delicious restaurants nearby. Overall, I felt that the main store offers better taste and experience. If you have the time, it's worth visiting the main store to truly savor the flavors.

Now famous for its pork and onion skewers with mustard, "Muroran yakitori" can be found at the Wakakusa branch of Ippei in Muroran. The restaurant is not very spacious, but it is always bustling with locals. The pork skewers are a must-try! At first, I was unsure about the mustard, but it turned out to be delicious! I also recommend the pork belly skewers. A plate of 4 skewers costs around 400 yen, so it's quite affordable. They also have a selection of drinks, including sours which are popular among women. With branches in Nakajima and Noboribetsu as well, you can trust this yakitori restaurant for a satisfying meal.

When it comes to yakitori in Muroran, is it Ippei? However, Wakakusa is technically in Noboribetsu city. But residents will say "Where in Hokkaido is it?" when asked on the mainland, and reply "It's Muroran, which is famous for pork belly yakitori these days." That's how much Ippei has spread the name of Muroran yakitori nationwide. But that's about it. While Ippei may have been the first to use "Muroran" in their name, other yakitori restaurants in Muroran simply sell yakitori, so why use "Muroran" in their name? Because they didn't understand the meaning. There are many yakitori restaurants in Muroran (including Noboribetsu city) that serve pork meat on their menu, and if they don't, it's probably just a chain izakaya. It's common sense to have pork meat, but Ippei made it seem special. However, Muroran yakitori is not exclusive to Ippei. Among the various Ippei locations, the one that puts in the most effort without resting on its laurels is the Wakakusa branch. In terms of taste and sauce, I believe Wakakusa is the best Ippei. By the way, Nakajima is the worst.
