The fourth place I visited the other day was a Chinese karaoke izakaya called Season in the Haginoyama shopping street. It was a place I had never been to before, and it caught my eye as I was searching for somewhere nice to go. The place was run by a mama-san with no other customers at first. Although there was a bit of a peculiar atmosphere at the beginning, the mama-san was good at engaging in conversation and had a lot of interesting topics to talk about. Even though I don't usually sing karaoke, I found myself in a good mood and singing along, thanks to the mama-san's skills. We ordered a bottle of shochu, cheap champagne (which tasted like sweet juice), and three dishes. The mama-san kept pouring drinks for us and was so entertaining that we ended up spending around 18,000 yen. When it came time to pay, it turned out to be 22,500 yen! A watermelon was served without us asking, so I thought it was a complimentary service. I guess I overestimated my own abilities and the value of what we were getting (laughs). While 18,000 yen might have been a bit expensive in hindsight, it was worth it for the entertainment we received. However, 22,500 yen was a bit too much. Being too greedy doesn't always lead to success. I received a business promotion message on LINE asking us to come back for their anniversary, but I don't think I'll be going back for just a few thousand yen. Finding the right balance is crucial for a successful business. There are plenty of other restaurants and customers out there. The way a person handles the bill reveals a lot about their mindset, upbringing, and character. Someone like me, who has seen many different types of people, doesn't easily fall for words alone. Words can be deceiving, and there are many people who are not good with words, unlike skilled con artists. People like me judge others based on different aspects. Thank you for your hard work. #NishinariAleTown #HaginoyamaShoppingStreet #Haginoyama #HaginoyamaStation #KaraokeIzakaya #ChineseKaraokeIzakaya #KaraokeIzakayaSeason
