I had about an hour for a business lunch in Namba and wasn't satisfied with the mapo tofu I had during the day, so I decided to try Liu Mapo Tofu. I ordered a half portion for 580 yen and a highball for 480 yen. After just one bite, you can tell that they take pride in their mapo tofu. It's made with deliciously soft tofu cut into large pieces, with a strong presence of meat. The meat is cooked perfectly, with a nice Maillard reaction. You can really taste the meatiness, and it doesn't lose to the tofu in flavor. They skillfully toe the line between spiciness, so even those who are not fans of heat can enjoy it. The balance of numbing spice, heat, umami, sweetness, and texture is just right. It was delicious! They also serve lunch, so I will definitely come back. I might have to choose between Liu and Morimoto in this area next time, haha.

Reasonably priced, incredibly delicious, and if you go with a large group, they'll divide the bill for you! The service is also very good. They're open until morning, so it's perfect for a night of drinking!

It's pretty tasty but too expensive. That's it.

Recently, this area (along the Dotonbori River) seems to be undergoing a transformation. The old dirty Dotonbori River with floating garbage no longer exists. Today, I suddenly decided to have a meal with four friends in Namba. While walking and pondering where to eat, I stumbled upon this restaurant. It is a stylish Chinese restaurant that opened in August 2017 next to the Dotonbori River in Osaka (located in Soemon-cho). It was my first visit. They offer authentic Chinese cuisine such as Peking duck as well as creative Chinese dishes. We enjoyed our meal on the terrace and in private rooms. Thank you for the delicious meal.
