At the "Kotan Abeno-ten" located in the dining area of Abeno underground shopping street, I visited for the first time. There are both counter and table seats, and I chose a counter seat where a few seats were available with 70-80% of customers. I ordered the Pork Belly Kotan Ramen (soy sauce) and Gyoza set. I started by lifting the noodles and taking a bite. I have previously tried ramen at another Kotan store, but the noodles and soup were different than I expected and the taste was monotonous, making me quickly lose interest. The gyoza also lacked garlic flavor, which was disappointing. I managed to finish the gyoza and rice, but I couldn't finish the ramen.

I wonder if I got off at Tennoji Station after taking the Sakaishi Line from Shimomatsu Station... Feeling tired, but let's focus on this Abetika place!! Here's the menu! Looks like they raised the prices again (sigh). Last time was so bad, it's been half a year since I last went (laughs). The last time I had was this: Gyoza (nicely cooked), Shabu-shabu Soup, Char Siu Ramen (soy sauce) for 880 yen. The gyoza was cooked well, the noodles were good, and the soup was decent. They need to keep this level every time. Thank you for the meal. Located in Abeno Underground Shopping Street No. 3, Koshicho, Abeno-ku, Osaka City. Open from 11:00 to 21:30, closed on the 3rd Tuesday of the month. Feel free to follow Skasan!! Instagram/Facebook/Twitter. I'm participating in blog rankings. The Kotan Ramen at Abechika in Tennoji is the best! I have been eating their ramen for decades and it is truly delicious. It's packed with ingredients and the portion size and firmness of the noodles are just perfect! I eat there every two weeks without fail. You can choose from salt, soy sauce, or miso flavors. I always go for the miso ramen. There are four table seats and dozens of counter seats, making it easy for families or solo diners to visit!

I came back from a trip and was a bit tired. I arrived at Tennoji by Shinkansen and found a ramen restaurant downstairs. I tried the Dandan noodles ramen and the Tan Tan egg ramen this time. Both were delicious.

I have been eating at 古潭ラーメン since I can remember, for many decades now. My whole family only eats here, we never get tired of it. The taste is consistently delicious, the prices are great, and there are so many toppings. I always crave it at least once a month. We used to visit different ramen shops, but we could never find one that beats 古潭ラーメン.笑

On March 29, 2023, I had lunch at "Kotan Abe Chika-ten" in Osaka Tennoji. It's been a while since I last visited Kotan, so I was very happy. Looking at the menu, I was torn, but when it comes to Kotan... This time, I ordered the "Kotan Ramen (730 yen)" and added 30 yen to make it "miso flavor". As expected of Kotan, the soup is incredibly delicious!!! I was impressed by the consistently delicious taste!!! How delicious was it??? The rich soup is delicious without any bitterness!!! I also recommend the "110 yen rice" available only during lunchtime!!! I enjoyed it by adding the soup to the rice!!! Thank you for the meal!!!

I am "Noronori" who mainly walks around eating lunch, mainly in Sakai. I haven't been to Abechika in a while, so I stopped by because I was feeling a bit hungry. I ordered the Kotan ramen with less noodles. It was reliably delicious (*^-^*) It was 730 yen, but when I looked at the receipt, it said 710 yen, so I wonder if they deducted 20 yen for the noodles? Thank you for the meal.

Today, before watching a movie, I had lunch here. I've been coming to this old pond since I was a child (I'm not sure if it's exactly the same place haha), so I end up coming here out of nostalgia. Of course, the food is delicious. I think it used to be called Home Run Ramen, but I had the 4-kind ramen. It was delicious.

After work, I decided to have a light drink and found this place with a variety of menu options. I tried the delicious Spicy Tantanmen for 940 yen. It had the perfect balance of numbing spiciness from Sichuan pepper and moderate heat from chili peppers. It was different from the usual Gyoza Ramen, and I enjoyed it. Thank you for the meal!

I visited "Kotan Abe Basement Store" in Tennoji Ward, Osaka City for lunch for the first time. It is a long-established ramen chain, with this store being the first one opened in 1968. Although I have been to other Kotan stores before, this was my first time at this particular location. It is located in the Abeno underground shopping street connected to Osaka Metro Tennoji Station and JR Osaka Abenobashi Station. I arrived around 12:30 on a weekday and there were a few groups of about 5 customers waiting in front of the store. After waiting for about 5 minutes, I was seated at the counter inside and placed my order. The ramen was served in about 7 minutes. I ordered the Gyoza Ramen (830 yen) with an additional seasoned egg (110 yen), choosing soy sauce flavor. It had a pork and chicken-based soy sauce broth with medium straight noodles, topped with green onions, bean sprouts, carrots, 2 slices of thin chashu, 3 gyoza, and a seasoned egg. It had been a while since I last had Kotan ramen. It tasted delicious, bringing back nostalgic memories. Over 30 years ago, I thought it was delicious, but a few years ago, I wasn't sure. This time, I found it quite tasty. While there are many delicious ramen shops now, Kotan ramen may not be as impressive, but it is still quite good. It's not a place I would go out of my way to visit, but I would like to casually eat at another Kotan store sometime in the future.

Lunch today was at Tennoji, Abeno area. I was craving for a nostalgic taste of ramen, so I headed to "Kotan Abe Chika" here. The atmosphere was great. While Yangtze River Ramen is good, when it comes to Osaka ramen, personally, I think this place is the best. The counter was full, so I was seated at a table. Here's the menu. I decided right away to have the miso ramen! The "Kotan Ramen" (¥700) with miso soup (+¥30) came to a total of ¥730 for lunch. PayPay is accepted. Showa nostalgia! This, this is Kotan. It's very basic and Showa-era style. It looks so delicious. Not incredibly delicious, and not worth waiting in line for, but personally, I love this kind of ramen. I quickly finished it all. Even the soup! It was tasty. Oh, the traditional places are great. It was delicious. I want to eat it again. Thank you for the meal. Today's lunch cost ¥730.

Gyoza Ramen (Miso) for 860 yen, White rice for 200 yen. I used to think that having gyoza on top of ramen separately would be tastier, but when I actually tried it, my preconceptions crumbled. Gyoza Ramen is delicious. Also, adding sesame to Miso Ramen halfway through makes it even more delicious. It was a delicious meal. Thank you!

The final stop for drinking in Tennoji was here after a long time! The menu has expanded but prices have gone up a bit. The Gyoza Ramen for 830 yen was delicious as always. The gyoza was freshly grilled and I recommend the soy sauce over miso. It's been rare for me to come here, about 5 months since the last time (lol). Thank you for the meal. Prologue
Here's a question for you: When it comes to delicious miso ramen in the vicinity of Tennoji in Osaka, which shop comes to mind? Yes, that's correct - there isn't such a shop. Now, let's change the question a little. If you were to think of a ramen shop that you once ate at a long time ago and found delicious, what would it be? And how would it taste if you were to eat it again now? Even if it's a shop that you wouldn't recommend to others, it's okay. Yes, that's correct! It's Kotan Ramen.

After a good night of hopping around 7 different bars in Kita, feeling satisfied and full, I headed to this shop. I ordered the Kotan Ramen Miso for 682 yen (tax included). Compared to the regular soy sauce ramen, the miso ramen costs an extra 22 yen. It had been a while since I last had it, and the taste was just as I had imagined - a nostalgic Showa-style ramen that you might expect to see at a place like Gyoza no Osho. It might be just right for a final meal to end a night of drinking. Thank you for the meal.

I have been coming to Abeno more often lately due to some business I have in the area. I find myself having lunch at various times, and today I decided to have ramen at Furutani in Abeno Underground Center, a place I used to go occasionally since high school. Even though it was past lunchtime, I was seated right away. I ordered a set of ramen and gyoza from the outdoor menu, choosing soy sauce ramen. The chashu was thin but tender, and I enjoyed it with beer, chashu, and gyoza. The noodles were slightly thick, and I slurped them up. It was a nostalgic taste, and it was good to have it once in a while. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I visited a restaurant that I used to go to often during my student days. It had been a while since I last visited, and there was a line at the entrance even during lunchtime. However, the staff were quick and I was able to get in soon. It had been a while, so I ordered the Shoyu (soy sauce) flavored Furutani Ramen. Since it was a counter-style restaurant, I could see them working hard inside. I was interested to see that after boiling the noodles, they didn't immediately put them in the soup bowl, but instead let them sit in a strainer hanging for a while. It must be a way to enhance the flavor. I started by sipping the soup, and it was delicious. I remember it being very rich in the past, but this time it was much lighter than I expected. I enjoyed the curly noodles and finished the soup as well. I'm glad I came.

I went to the restaurant before 2pm on a holiday, and there were almost 10 people waiting. It looked like there was space at the counter from the outside. I wondered if the ramen was really that good, so I considered other options as well. However, every place I looked at was crowded, so I gave up and returned to find no one waiting! I was seated at the counter and ordered the basic soy sauce ramen. I had been feeling terrible in the morning due to drinking too much the night before, but finally regained my energy to eat ramen! There were bean sprouts and green onions in the ramen. The noodles were thin, and the soup seemed to be made from pork bones and chicken broth. It was a refreshing soup and delicious. There were sesame seeds and pepper on the table. Other condiments were available upon request to the staff for COVID-19 measures. Miso and salt flavors were available for an additional 20 yen. I have decided firmly to try the miso flavor next time. I also plan to order 3 pieces of gyoza.

I often eat ramen at Abechika's Kotan, but for some reason it was not listed on Tabelog. I had the miso ramen that I always eat, and I think the miso ramen here has a light taste. The toppings include bean sprouts, carrots, green onions, and chashu. I wish it had a bit more volume, but considering the reasonable price, it's understandable. Thank you for the meal.

Today, I drank with my friend and felt like eating delicious ramen at the end. I came to Kotan Ramen in Abeno. This is a favorite shop of mine, I've been coming here for many years since high school. I thought Bun-chan had been here before too, but it seems like it's his first time??? I always eat the soy sauce ramen here. In a way, it tastes like home-cooked food. I've eaten at many delicious ramen shops in places like Hokkaido and Tokyo, but... the ramen that feels like my hometown is the soy sauce ramen at Kotan Ramen!!! Thank you for the meal!!!

On Wednesday, December 29th, for lunch, I went to "Ramen Gyoza Koutan Abe Chikagai Store" located in the Abeno underground shopping area in Horikoshi-cho, Tennoji-ku, Osaka City, right near JR Osaka Loop Line Tennoji Station. The restaurant is known for its signature dish, Gyoza Ramen, which comes with three pieces of gyoza on top of a soy sauce flavored broth. The ramen also includes three large slices of chashu and is served with red pickled ginger. The collagen-rich pork bone and chicken broth combined with medium-thick noodles made for a delicious meal. "Koutan" is a chain of ramen restaurants with over a dozen locations in the Kansai region, and this particular store is where it all began. The restaurant is located at Horikoshi-cho, Abeno Chikagai 3, Tennoji-ku, Osaka City, and can be reached by a 1-minute walk from JR Osaka Loop Line Tennoji Station or a 3-minute walk from Kintetsu Namba Line Osaka Abenobashi Station. They are open from 11:00 to 22:00, with the last order at 21:30, and have irregular closing days. The restaurant is completely non-smoking, and there is no parking available.
