It is more of an izakaya with yakitori rather than a yakitori-focused izakaya. The interior is quite standard with background music playing and smoking allowed. ◇Seating There are counter seats, table seats, and private rooms with sunken kotatsu tables. ◇Menu Structure The menu is divided into regular items and today's recommendations. The regular menu includes small dishes, salads, yakitori, fried foods, a la carte items, charcoal-grilled and oven-baked dishes, noodle dishes, etc. The daily recommendations are handwritten on a board. I ordered the following: - Jidori Tataki (750 yen) including tax. (See first photo) It had been a week since my last night out in Kokura, and once again, I found myself obliging to my junior's invitation... How kind of me... But I feel like I'm reaching my limit... That's a different story. It had been a while since I last visited Kokura, probably around 3 years, and coming back after such a long time, I noticed a slight change in the atmosphere of the restaurant... Or maybe it's just a trivial matter that doesn't matter much. Anyway, the long-awaited Jidori Tataki. The way it was cooked was just the way I like it, rare with a good amount of elasticity, encouraging you to chew and savor the flavor. The simple yet appealing presentation with a generous amount of sliced onions underneath added to the overall enjoyment. The portion size was decent, making it suitable for sharing. Personally, I think it would be nice to have garlic paste or yuzu pepper as a default option. ◆Strong Points A wide variety of dishes available at this izakaya! ◆Service Average. ◆Summary Personally, I feel more satisfied with the izakaya experience than focusing solely on yakitori. There seems to be a noticeable difference between the outstanding dishes and the ones that are not so outstanding... Or maybe it's just me, but I feel like the ambiance has slightly changed compared to the past. Nevertheless, that private room brings back nostalgic memories. Thank you for the meal!笑

I had a year-end party with my colleagues at a restaurant recommended by a local in the area. The place had a variety of recommended seafood and side dishes listed on the blackboard. We enjoyed dishes like ginkgo nuts, assorted sashimi, shrimp mayo, potato fries, and assorted grilled chicken skewers. The drinks were served quickly, and the friendly owner even gave us recommendations on what to drink. We had a great time chatting and enjoying ourselves.

We had a gathering at the famous yakitori restaurant HONJIN in Fukuoka, Kitakyushu City with 11 people from the event. We started with tai sashimi, then enjoyed various skewers like zuri, tebasaki, and pork belly sashimi platter, vegetable pizza, and sake-steamed clams. We finished with delicious torimeshi onigiri before heading to the second party. Thank you for the meal!

Posting without a photo. Our restaurant, Honjin, is located on Mikage Street in Uomachi. I heard from the manager that it is a franchise, but the yakitori here is just as impressive as the original Honjin. Additionally, although it is a specialty of Hakata, it is rare to find grilled ramen in Kokura (you can find it at "Minamiya" or Hakata-style "ShinShin"). I decided to try it, and even though it's a yakitori restaurant, the quality was quite good. There is also a counter at our restaurant, but since it was late at night and not crowded, I was seated in the back room even though I was dining alone. However, I was pleased that there was conversation each time a dish was brought to me. During one of these conversations, the manager complimented me, saying, "You eat a lot, don't you?" When I mentioned that I was on my second stop of the night, he was surprised. It took a few years, but I finally settled into eating a normal amount (and even lost weight), but back then, it wasn't a lie when I said I ate "1.5 times more than the average person."

Located in Uomachi, Kokura Kita-ku, this yakitori restaurant is just a 1-minute walk from the Monorail Heiwadori Station. It is situated diagonally across from Chanko Dining Wakano. The interior of the restaurant features two large counters and about six table seats, often filled with customers. It is recommended to make a reservation, especially on weekends. When new customers arrive, there is a performance of drumming. The atmosphere is lively, so discreet conversations may be difficult. You may need to speak up a bit. As the name "Yakitori Honjin" suggests, yakitori is the main dish, with the staff grilling the skewers right in front of you. Each skewer is carefully prepared and very delicious. In addition to yakitori, the menu also offers a variety of salads, side dishes, teppanyaki, rice dishes, and more, making it suitable for those who are not fans of yakitori. The restaurant may not be ideal for large group gatherings due to its layout, but it is perfect for small gatherings or a drink after work. If you're craving yakitori, this is the place to go.

Visited with my family on a weekday, so the restaurant was a bit empty. We were seated at a table near the entrance. The sofa had a few stains, but it was spacious and comfortable. Here is what we ordered: - Sashimi Platter: The sashimi was fresh and delicious, especially the scallops. - Skin: It was soft and chewy, but I prefer it more grilled. - Liver: Grilled perfectly and tasty. - Heart: Tender and tasty. - Pork Belly: Thinly sliced and large, not my favorite thickness but still delicious. - Chicken Gizzard: Cooked perfectly. - Chicken Heart: Tender and delicious. - Onion: The sauce was generous and the onion was sweet. - Cucumber, Changja, and Cream Cheese Salad: The cucumber was too big and hard to eat, the cream cheese was messy, and the Changja's spiciness was missing. - Egg and Cheese Salad: The egg and cheese were creamy and delicious. - Wiener Tomato Pizza: The crust was crispy, with lots of toppings, and very tasty. Today, we used this place for a drinking party at work ☆ Around here, yakitori is quite expensive... We searched online and decided on this place. It's a small, newly renovated shop with a slightly stylish touch, offering counter seats and three table seats. The skewers are reasonably priced, but there are some that are a bit pricey too. The a la carte dishes are set at around ¥600... The sashimi seemed a bit expensive to me. In terms of quantity, I felt like the cost performance was not great. Well, it's cheaper to drink and eat here than to spend money in strange places. The taste is just normal and delicious.
