There are few lunch options on the east side of JR Higashi-Yodogawa Station, especially when it comes to set meals. However, I found this udon and set meal restaurant which is quite rare in the area. The exterior looks new, but the interior has a nostalgic feel of an old-fashioned local eatery. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming with table seating, counter seating, and even a tatami room in the back. The menu is extensive, offering a variety of options including udon, rice bowls, fish dishes, fried foods, curry, soba, tempura, daily specials, and more. I ordered the most popular dish, the Katsu-Nikomi set for 650 yen. It arrived in 7-8 minutes and came with a mini udon or soba on the side. The portion size for the price of 650 yen was quite generous! You can even get a free large serving, and I believe refills are also available. The pork cutlet was a good size, tender, with a flavorful broth-infused coating. The runny egg was a nice touch! The udon had a flat, hand-stretched noodle similar to kishimen, with a smooth texture that was delicious. The bonito flakes on the table added a nice touch. The staff were incredibly friendly and provided excellent service. Overall, I think this is a great restaurant with excellent food, affordable prices, and a wide selection of dishes. I will definitely come back again. Thank you for the meal.
