Recently, I've been thinking that there's no such thing as a bad curry from a sublet curry shop. It's a shop that operates in the evenings in a lively bar and serves only one type of curry, Sorane Curry (a mix of chicken and keema). You can choose the amount of rice and spiciness level. I chose 100 grams of rice and level 1 spiciness. It's said that level 2 spiciness is equivalent to a certain famous curry chain, ○○ Ichibanya's level 5 spiciness. The menu also includes a variety of side dishes such as fried vegetables and eggs that complement the curry well. Personally, I thought the chicken was exquisite. The perfect level of spiciness and the spices that linger in your nose go well with the rice. The soup is all-you-can-eat, and you can also enjoy grapefruit juice to refresh your palate. This curry restaurant operates during lunchtime on Tuesdays and Wednesdays only, borrowing space from a "foam bar." The atmosphere inside is like a bar, with customers seated at the counter. The menu features two types of curry: Dashi Keema and delicious chicken curry. Both come with a soup for refills. The signature "Sorane Curry" combines chicken and keema curry, with the option to choose spiciness levels. The default level is already quite spicy, so "1 spiciness" was chosen. The order comes with 150g of rice and a side of pickles. The curry emphasizes the use of spices, with a variety of colorful side dishes. It is satisfying and the meal is finished off with a grapefruit juice to cleanse the palate. A refreshing drink to cool down after the meal. Surprisingly, the use of spices in the curry is quite authentic.

A few minutes' walk from Nishinakajima-Minamigata Station. Today, I had lunch here. The restaurant operates as a pop-up curry shop with short opening hours of 2.5 hours each day. They offer only one menu item, Sorane Curry, where you can choose the amount of rice and spiciness level. I ordered 200g of rice and 1.5 spiciness. Let's dig in! The curry has a strong spice flavor and tastes quite authentic, not like a makeshift dish. It's to my liking. It comes with plenty of toppings like eggs and side dishes, making it quite satisfying. They also serve soup and fresh grapefruit juice on the side, which is a plus. After the meal, you can enjoy a cup of coffee or tea. Overall, it was a bit pricey at 1,280 yen, but considering the quality and quantity, it's worth it. The master's service and hospitality were also excellent.
