This time, I went back to Seiichiya, which had been closed or unavailable every time I tried to go with my girlfriend. The interior of the restaurant is set up with counter seats surrounding the kitchen. I ordered the 5 kinds of sea urchin comparison bowl with a topping of large scallops, and changed the rice to vinegar rice. It was brought to me in about 20 minutes. The visual presentation was amazing! It just looked incredibly delicious. First, I tried the sea urchin on its own. The Shiriuchi sea urchin had a strong scent of the sea and was refreshing. The Oumu sea urchin was also refreshing and easy to eat, with less of the strong sea scent compared to the Shiriuchi sea urchin. And the Rebun sea urchin was exceptional! It was rich, flavorful, with less of the sea scent, and incredibly delicious! The Hokuto Four Islands sea urchin was similar and very tasty. The Otaru sea urchin was rich, but had a refreshing aftertaste. However, the Rebun sea urchin was the best by far! The vinegar rice felt a bit soft. It didn't bother me much, but my girlfriend seemed to be slightly concerned about it. The crab soup had half a crab in it, and the broth was rich and delicious, but a bit too salty. The large scallops were seared on the surface, giving a crispy texture, but the inside was tender and bouncy, with an unmatched sweetness! The sweet shrimp was thick and rich in sweetness, incredibly delicious! And when rolled in seaweed, it was luxurious! The combination of seaweed and sea urchin was excellent! The pickled ginger and seaweed on the side were great for cleansing the palate, as the sea urchin was rich. Next time, I want to try the 5 kinds of bluefin tuna comparison bowl.

I visited on September 6, 2023 at 10 am. Since I came all the way to Hokkaido, I wanted to eat uni-don, so I made a reservation about a month ago and went. I topped the 5 types of uni-don with ikura to make it luxurious. The uni didn't have any unpleasant smell and tasted delicious.

I finally made it to my dream restaurant, Yoichi Jitensha-ten. I arrived early and was able to get in smoothly. My target was the 5 types of uni comparison set meal, but I was also tempted by the double portion option. However, I decided to start with the normal set. The aroma, flavor, sweetness, and richness of the uni were all exquisite! There are also two branches in Otaru, so I would like to visit there as well.

I entered the restaurant around 3 o'clock. There was no line, so I was seated right away. They didn't have the Uni from Yoichi that day, but I decided to try the 5 kinds of Uni comparison bowl (half size) anyway. Personally, I really liked the rich flavor of the Bafun Uni! The menu usually comes with sweet shrimp, but that day it came with fatty tuna. The fatty tuna was also delicious!

In conclusion, "Rebun Uni is delicious". I ordered the 5 types of Uni comparison bowl and Rebun Uni was by far the most delicious! The Russian Uni was honestly just a supporting role, haha. Even on weekends, I was able to get in without waiting by making a reservation online. It was from 10:00 in the morning, but I would like to go again when I visit Yoichi. Next time, I'll become a millionaire and get double the Uni~!

This is my second visit. The uni seemed a bit melted compared to my last memory, and the amount of bafun seemed to have decreased. There also seemed to be sweet shrimp in it?? The photos taken by everyone are very impressive, but the bowl is relatively small. (You can get free rice refills) It is definitely delicious, but the price is a bit high. It seems to be a bit overpriced for tourists. It looks great in photos though. *The botan shrimp is a topping (500 yen)

There's nothing to say, 1000 points!!! I visited during the weekend for lunch. They open at 10 am and when I arrived at 10 am, there was already a 1.5-hour wait. I made a reservation and waited at a different location. I ordered the Uni 5-color bowl with extra botan shrimp and ikura toppings. The crab miso soup and vinegar rice were unlimited. The crab soup was incredibly delicious! With 5 colors, you can enjoy a variety of flavors. The seared toppings were also great! No more words needed, you should definitely go here! Absolutely!

This week is a business trip and travel week. Aichi → Kyoto → Sapporo → Yoichi → Mashiko → Tokyo. Today is Yoichi. What should I have for lunch? I heard people talking about Rishiri and Rebun, so I decided to go to a sea urchin bowl restaurant. I tried five different types of sea urchin. It cost 6500 yen excluding tax. It was interesting, but I think I prefer eating sea urchin as it is or on sushi. It was a memorable experience.

I had some business in Sapporo and decided to try the uni-don in Yoichi that I had been curious about. I left Haneda early in the morning and arrived in Yoichi after 12 o'clock. I had to wait for about an hour, but eventually got a table after 20 minutes. I ordered a set with five different types of uni for comparison. The presentation was impressive. As for the taste, it was quite delicious, although the uni was a bit soft. If I were to try it again, I think I would go for a two-color donburi with maguro and uni.

Last time, I went to Seiichuya while buried in snow. At that time, sea urchin was not in season, so they weren't offering the 5 types of sea urchin comparison bowl. I decided to make a comeback this summer! Since I had eaten a lot of sea urchin the day before, I chose a modest comparison bowl of bluefin tuna. The rich sea urchin paired well with the vinegared rice. The bluefin tuna also showed a certain level of commitment, sourced from Yamako.

On this day, there was a tasting comparing the Bafun and Murasaki sea urchins from Russia, Yakushima, and Rebun. The shop specializing in Yoichi sea urchin nearby was closed due to rough seas, so I tried a shop that also offers sea urchins from other areas. I ordered the Yoichi sea urchin tasting bowl for 8,800 yen (probably caught yesterday). You can choose between regular rice and seasoned rice, and I chose the recommended seasoned rice. Sea urchin is really delicious. However, I think you can better appreciate the flavor of the sea urchin by not mixing it with the rice. The portion is small (feels like spreading a bowl of rice thinly), but you can get free rice refills and add extra toppings as a trick. It's a good deal as it also comes with free crab soup refills. I will definitely come back.

I visited on a Saturday afternoon and, as expected from a popular restaurant, there was a wait. I looked around nearby while waiting, and was able to get in after about an hour. I ordered a Uni (sea urchin) tasting bowl. The crab miso soup had very little flavor, so enjoy the broth. The Uni tasted different depending on the region, making the bowl quite enjoyable.

I wonder if it's ready yet~ Are you done already~ With hopeful anticipation, I made a phone call and yes, I was able to get it again this year thanks to this shop's full effort! Uni, which varies depending on the origin, has different flavors from different regions. I think they don't have to pile it up so high like this, but I enjoyed this presentation as a taste of the region. I feel a bit guilty while enjoying this number that I want to eat after putting in the effort to peel the shells. It's a complex but delicious experience at Seiichiya, where you sharpen all five senses with sushi.

On the 4th day of the Hokkaido camping trip. Today is finally the day for camping, so we headed to the famous Kakiyama Shoten in Yoichi to find some ingredients. On the way, we found a sign for a delicious-looking restaurant and decided to go in. It seemed to be a well-known establishment. The store had just opened, and when we entered, the staff asked us if we had a reservation, which surprised us. It seemed like almost everyone had made a reservation the day before. We decided to wait, but it turned out that some customers who were supposed to arrive at a certain time hadn't shown up, so there wasn't much of a wait if there were no cancellations. Luckily, we were able to enter after waiting for about 15 minutes. The restaurant had a beautiful interior with two floors, and we ordered a special menu with a bowl full of five different kinds of sea urchin. There were about 7-8 employees in the store. It took about 40 minutes until the bowl was served. The beautifully arranged bowl had sea urchin in five different colors, and the taste was truly exquisite, unlike anything you can experience in mainland Japan. I highly recommend sea urchin lovers to try this blissful bowl at least once in their lifetime. It was amazing. The only downside was that the service was a bit slow. They may have added some finishing touches like searing the sea urchin, but to an amateur, it may not be apparent why it takes so long. In any case, it seems to be more suitable for those with plenty of time to spare. This time, despite the short wait, it took over an hour until the bowl was served. It might be tough for those with a tight schedule for sightseeing. The taste was outstanding, and the service was good.

Sea urchin uni was delicious! I was taken to this popular restaurant where there is a parking lot for about 10 cars near the shop. The shop was cleaner than I expected when I entered. Since the first floor was full, I was guided to the second floor. I ordered the Uni Set Meal (Red) for 5,500 yen. The red uni is from Bafun sea urchins. You can choose between white rice and vinegar rice, and I chose vinegar rice, which had a mild taste that didn't overpower the uni. The sea urchin that day was from Rausu in saltwater, and it was delicious with no hint of alum taste.

My mom loves sea urchin, so I researched and went with her. We were lucky to be seated after a 30-minute wait, but some people had to wait for 2 hours. It's a very popular place. It was my first time eating at such a restaurant, so I was surprised by the prices. But my mom was happy and said it was delicious, so it was worth the search. I was looking for a place to have lunch in Yoichi City and happened to come across this restaurant. I'm not a fan of the strong taste of sea urchin with alum, but here they served sea urchin in saltwater, which I found delicious. Unfortunately, I couldn't try the local sea urchin, but I enjoyed tasting five different flavors. I was surprised by how different the taste can be depending on where and what type of sea urchin is harvested. It was not only delicious but also enjoyable.

The sea urchin season had not yet begun, so I couldn't have a sea urchin-only bowl. It was a half-and-half bowl with tuna. Hmm, it looks good in photos, but the bowl is small. The sea urchin is tasty but the portion is small, and the tuna is just average. Surprisingly, it's quite expensive. Is it worth 5,000 yen for this? I came all the way to Hokkaido, so I wish they would serve something better.

I had a grilled sea urchin bento box. As I ate the sea urchin with seaweed and pickled ginger, the flavor changed with each bite. The sea urchin was rich and delicious! The next morning after staying in Yoichi, I really wanted to eat sea urchin even though it wasn't the season for it. It was the perfect choice for breakfast. I couldn't try the sea urchin comparison bowl, so I chose the sea urchin and salmon roe bowl instead. You can choose between a light white sea urchin or a rich red one. Normally, I would choose the richer flavor, but this time I went with the white one! The first bite was incredibly delicious. Even the salmon roe, which is not the main attraction, was already tasty. It had a nice popping texture. It wasn't necessary for the sea urchin to have a fatty texture like at a sushi restaurant. The sea urchin didn't have a strong seaweed smell. Even though the flavor wasn't strong, the fishy smell didn't overpower it. Delicious!
