This is a restaurant located along Yotsubashi-suji street, north of the Yotsubashi intersection. They serve tempura and oden, with a gentle flavor of simmered dried fish and clams. Nowadays, many oden shops in Osaka have strong broth, but this place offers a lighter, old-fashioned Kanto-style flavor which I personally prefer. I had the five-piece oden assortment and squid tempura. They are open late, so I will definitely come back again.

Yotsuhashi◇Izakaya◇[Shimomachi 1-chome, Nishi-ku] Located on the left side after crossing two streets north of the intersection of Nagahori-dori and Yotsubashi-suji (Yotsuhashi), "Tempura and Oden Kogachan" is a new restaurant in the Shinmachi area. For dinner on weekends, a friend and I decided to check out this new place. The restaurant has a counter with 8-10 seats and 4 table seats. We started with some draft beer, as recommended by the name, they specialize in tempura and oden. We ordered the following recommended items: ◆ Oden assortment of 5 types with clam and dried fish broth ◆ Squid tempura with red pickled ginger, squid, and sakura shrimp ◆ Pork and chive rolls ◆ Potato salad from the oden shop ◆ Quail bacon ◆ Bacon tomato ◆ Pork-wrapped asparagus ◆ Kiss tempura, shrimp tempura ◆ Negi-bukuro ◆ Shrimp bun ◆ "Dobu-zuke" drink with Takara shochu + mixer for your preferred taste. A must-try are the squid tempura and meat-wrapped tempura. The oden broth with clam and dried fish is gentle and perfect for drinkers. The counter seats are spacious and comfortable. After filling our stomachs, we said, "Thank you for the meal."

A new addition to the SASAYA Group, which operates various restaurants primarily in Shinsaibashi and Namba, has opened in Osaka's Shimmachi area. The restaurant focuses on tempura and oden as its signature dishes, offering a wide range of items including appetizers, sashimi, and udon noodles. The oden broth is made using a double extract of shijimi clams and dried sardines, rich in liver function-improving components such as ornithine, taurine, and alanine. Here are some recommended dishes: Oden Daikon (¥220), Oden Ran'ou Egg (¥200), Geso Tempura (¥480), Pork-wrapped Asparagus Tempura (¥250), Bacon and Tomato Tempura (¥200), and Homemade Thick Fried Tofu (¥380). The oden broth has a gentle flavor that makes you want to drink it all up, and the tempura dishes are crispy and delicious. The asparagus tempura has a great balance of crunchiness and tenderness, while the homemade fried tofu is fluffy and juicy. Thank you for the meal!

In the midst of the lingering heat, I suddenly felt like eating oden and decided to visit. The restaurant had just opened on August 9th, and they serve oden all year round. The oden dish with shijimi clams and dried bonito double broth was charming with shijimi clams in it. There were also unusual ingredients like fried eggplant, and I wondered if they change with the seasons. The "deep-fried squid tentacles" that was touted as a specialty turned out to be more voluminous than I imagined, with pickled ginger and sakura shrimp adding richness to the aroma.

The shop with a yellow sign is easy to spot, and inside, there are cute blue tiles. The staff are very friendly! The clam dashi oden is incredibly delicious!

I discovered a new restaurant that was open late at night, so I decided to go in! It seemed like a sister restaurant to my usual spot, as the dishes were similar. The tempura was crispy and delicious.
