All-you-can-eat and all-you-can-drink deals are very cost-effective. As a student, I think you can have a very satisfying meal!

I went to a restaurant called Niigoten. The location is Orio. It was a weekday, so even though it was before 9 pm, there was only one group of customers. The style is to take off your shoes before entering. The tables are sunken kotatsu style. There are about 15 tables. It seems they can accommodate around 60 people for private parties. They offer all-you-can-eat and a la carte options. I chose the all-you-can-eat option, which includes draft beer for 2680 yen, which is quite reasonable. The non-alcoholic drink menu is more extensive. The food menu is rich, but when it comes to ordering, it can be overwhelming. The fried chicken (large) portion is quite substantial, so be cautious when ordering. They ran out of beef tataki on the day I visited. I ordered some light dishes. The salmon carpaccio with basil sauce was generous. The smoked salmon was delicious. The spinach salad was tasty, but a bit too peppery. The grated yam with plum had a large portion. The tempura blowfish came with five large blowfish pieces, which was quite reasonable. The clam butter had a strong garlic flavor. The deep-fried garlic and mentaiko were confusing. The beef tongue was quite thick and chewy. The pork belly soup was too greasy. The mackerel with miso sauce was deep-fried and topped with grated radish. The pickled plum was 50 yen each, and the salmon rice bowl had a generous amount of salmon. The aluminum foil-baked mushrooms were flavorful, similar to the clam butter. From around 11 pm, more young people started to arrive. It might be better to go earlier in the evening.

I don't remember the exact date I went, but I visited this restaurant a long time ago. It took a bit of searching, but I finally found it! It's located a short walk from Oita Station, and there's a university nearby, so it seems popular among students. The most surprising thing about this izakaya was the portion size of each dish. Even the regular fried chicken was incredibly large! And yet, the prices were reasonable. I can't remember the menu names, but when I ordered, I was served a special portion of vegetables that were arranged in a unique way, which was quite a surprise. I wish I had taken a photo, but oh well... The prices were not high, the portions were generous, and the food was delicious! I was really satisfied and would like to visit again.

The variety of dishes is great and each portion is quite generous. Despite the fixed price, you can order a lot and feel full! The fixed price is also cheap, the staff are friendly, and I definitely want to go back! (They were very accommodating to small children, which was great) It's a good place to go with friends, not just for year-end or New Year's parties. It's also a nice option for birthday celebrations! It might not be the best choice for those looking for a quiet place to drink, but it's perfect for a lively atmosphere! ^^
