The other day, I was taken to a hidden gem tempura restaurant called Matsukoan in Minami Osaka's Soemon-cho by a friend. It's a bit hard to find, tucked away next to a ramen shop off Sakai-suji street. We sat at the cozy counter and enjoyed bite-sized creative tempura dishes, each perfectly paired with unique sake. The tempura was full of vegetables, which was a nice surprise! They use healthy rice oil for frying, resulting in crispy tempura. The complimentary stick salad set was also great. I couldn't relax and enjoy this time, so I'm looking forward to going back for a leisurely meal next time.

In Minami, the daughter of a legendary takoyaki shop has opened a tempura restaurant called Matsukoan. They offer a unique tempura course for 2500 yen, with slightly higher priced drinks. Overall, it's a great deal in my opinion.

The Matsukouan Tempura Course at Takonee was delicious and easy with 20 dishes. It was so good!
