Oh, Gusto is so nice. It used to be in my hometown, but it closed down and became a different chain store. They have a lot of delicious menu options, so it's hard to decide what to order. You can also ask for a smaller portion of rice!笑

The restaurant had a partnership with a chicken Karaage shop, and Karaage menu items were being promoted on the storefront sign. I ordered the Grill Set without any special toppings using the tablet ordering system, but then I noticed the option for "toppings" and decided to add an extra hamburger patty. The taste was comparable to a highway rest stop meal from 20 years ago. The Karaage was freshly fried and delicious. I had previously tried the Darjeeling tea from the drink bar at this restaurant, but the water temperature was too low and the fragrance was lacking, so I was disappointed. However, this time the water temperature was hot enough. It seems like they may have cut costs by not using high-quality tea leaves with a muscat flavor, so I wouldn't recommend visiting for the tea.

Gusto Burger. 860 yen? Cheese-in Burger. It comes with fries. The potato salad inside the burger is not that great. It lacks harmony as a hamburger, and the taste is not well-balanced. The buns look fluffy. I was surprised by the cat robot delivery. However, the back view was a bit dirty...

It's raining, so I don't feel like walking anywhere without a roof. Oh, there's a Gusto here. Let's have lunch here. It's on the second floor. After disinfecting my hands and getting my temperature checked, I sit at an available table. I order the daily special lunch, Chicken Basil Cheese & Pumpkin Croquette for 549 yen. I remember that you can get free extra rice at this price. I assume the chicken is breast meat at this price. I go get the daily soup and water myself. I sprinkle some pepper on the consomme soup. Ah, it warms me up. I get a refill of the soup. Then my lunch arrives. It's the Chicken Basil Cheese & Pumpkin Croquette. Both are small. I'm glad I got extra rice. The pumpkin croquette is yellow because it's made with pumpkin, not potatoes. It's a bit sweet. The grilled chicken has tomato sauce on top, with melted cheese underneath. It seems they baked the chicken with cheese on top and then added the sauce. I take a bite of the chicken, and it's thigh meat. I appreciate that they used thigh meat at this price. They have made efforts to minimize contact between people, and the staff only come close when serving the food, clearing the plates, and processing the payment.

I visited Gusto for the first time in a while. I used to occasionally have their morning set, but my routine has changed recently... (laughs) Since it was past lunchtime, I decided not to have a heavy lunch and instead looked at the tablet menu. I found a tab called "Small Dishes & Sake"! I knew they had fried potatoes and spinach bacon before, but it seems like the menu has expanded! There were over 20 items, including "Tuna Yukhoe," "Oyster Fry," and "Assorted 4 Side Dishes." I ordered the "Nest Egg" (329 yen tax included), which had bean sprouts, bacon, and a warm egg with soy-based seasoning. However, the portion was smaller than shown in the menu image, which was disappointing... They also had options to customize your drink, such as "Whiskey-based" and "Shochu-based" (both 220 yen tax included during happy hour). I tried the whiskey-based with soda water. The restaurant is becoming more enjoyable even for older customers.

I tried the "Kara-yoshi Assorted Set Meal" at "Gusto Namba Store" and it was delicious with two different flavors. This Gusto restaurant is a family restaurant chain with locations nationwide, and the Namba store is located in Namba, Osaka (a short walk from Namba Station). The store on the 2nd floor of a mixed-use building on Shinsaibashi-suji has a cashier on the right side and seating for 2-4 people on the back and left side, giving off a small family restaurant vibe. The customers seemed to be mostly salarymen. I ordered the "Kara-yoshi Assorted Set Meal" from "Kara-yoshi," a Karaage specialty store from the Kanto region. The set includes 2 pieces of thigh Karaage and 2 pieces of sweet and savory Karaage. The thigh Karaage has crispy coating and juicy meat with simple deliciousness (it also comes with sauce, but it's tasty as is), while the sweet and savory Karaage has a sweet and savory flavor from the sauce. It comes with vegetables, rice (with extra servings available), miso soup, and pickles for 781 yen including tax, which feels reasonable considering the taste from a specialty store. They also offer other types of Karaage like regular Karaage and grated daikon Karaage, as well as bento boxes with Gusto's cheese hamburger for takeout. Of course, there are various other menu options at Gusto as well, so if you're in Namba and craving Kanto-style Karaage, why not give it a try?

Namba Station is a 3-minute walk away. The access is really good (lol). On weekends, the Namba area can get crowded with people going to cafes or having lunch, but this place is recommended because the turnover is quick! The food arrives quickly after ordering, and the atmosphere is nice, so I will definitely come back here.

I went to a restaurant recommended on a TV show for their delicious Mayo Corn Pizza and pancakes before visiting Sumiyoshi Taisha. The Mayo Corn Pizza had a bread-like crust with lots of cheese and corn toppings, making it very filling. The pancakes were not as tall as in the photos, but they had a creamy mascarpone filling with a slight tanginess. I personally preferred the regular butter and maple syrup over the cream. The best part was the free-flowing drinks at the drink bar.

I visited a convenient store in Namba that is open 24 hours and used a New Year coupon. The store offers WiFi, and in the past, there were only a few outlets which led to competition for them. However, when I visited this time, each seat had access to an outlet. If you visit late at night, you might see a scene similar to the "Roy" character from the comedy duo Milk Boy's skit "Sai◯".

During lunchtime at work in Namba, I visited a restaurant with my colleagues. Despite being right in the middle of the bustling downtown area, we were able to be seated right away on the 2nd floor of the building around 12:30. Both of us ordered the daily special and the drink bar. The daily special changes depending on the day of the week. On this day, it was "hamburg and croquette", which was served promptly and tasted consistently good. The drink bar had a variety of options that we don't usually have, which was nice! Thank you for the meal!

My son and I went to Gusto for lunch on his day off from school. My son ordered the Anpanman Kids Curry Plate, which came with mini curry, potatoes, fried chicken, and three jellies, along with unlimited drinks. He was very satisfied and enjoyed the meal. I ordered the Grated Daikon Fried Chicken Set, which had crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside chicken with grated daikon. The portion of rice was quite large, but everything was delicious.

I arrived around 10 am with the intention of finishing the meeting around noon due to the typhoon. It seemed like the restaurant was open until 3 pm. Many other shops were closed due to the typhoon, so there were a lot of young people out since the morning. I decided to order the Miso Simmered Mackerel Breakfast Set (599 yen) and a morning beer (449 yen) since I was already there. The place was quite crowded, but the beer came quickly, which was reliable for a family restaurant. However, I regretted not ordering some food to go with the beer, as it felt a bit lacking without any snacks. The breakfast set arrived when I had only drunk half of the beer. The mackerel was delicious with a good amount of fat, and the miso was on the white side rather than red miso. It paired nicely with the beer. The mountain of French fries (299 yen) that I also ordered was truly a large portion that I couldn't finish alone. The beer became 399 yen from the second glass, which was about 50 yen cheaper, but still relatively expensive compared to izakayas. I thought it might not be the best place for drinking at Gusto. In the end, I felt that having breakfast and the drink bar was a good combination. However, I have noticed that some restaurants with long business hours have somewhat sloppy hygiene around the drink bar. I prefer places with a cleaner drink bar. The restaurant has private booth seating, making it suitable for meetings or meals. It seems to be quite crowded on regular days though. Overall, it was a good experience.

There is an outlet at the seat! Perfect for this era.

It is relatively easy to use as it is located in a convenient location and tends to be less crowded if you choose the right time. Although it faces a shopping street, the fact that it is on the second floor makes it less noticeable to those unfamiliar with the area, and even frequent visitors around here may not know that there is a Gusto here. The customer base varies, but I think the age group is on the older side. The staff are all brisk and efficient, and among the many Gusto locations, this one seems to be more comfortable for adults (or rather, seniors).
