After visiting the Trappist Monastery, I arrived just before closing time. I ordered a set of coffee and mini soft serve for 400 yen. The soft serve was a bit high in fat content and creamy. The coffee was freshly brewed after I ordered it, so it was in good condition. By trying the delicious Misuzu Coffee, I realized that it wasn't to my liking. I'm satisfied that I finally got to come here, as I had been wanting to visit. If you're coming by public transportation, make sure to check the bus schedule as the last bus is quite early.

I went to the Trappist Monastery. I parked my car at the Hakodate Citizen's Forest parking lot. There was a sign at the entrance of the parking lot saying that showing a parking ticket would get you a 50 yen discount on soft serve ice cream. I had to try this. After visiting the Trappist Monastery for sightseeing and buying souvenirs, I stopped by the "Hakodate Citizen's Forest Shop." I ordered Hokkaido soft serve ice cream. It is said to be soft serve ice cream that contains plenty of milk fat nurtured by Hokkaido's unique climate. It certainly has a rich flavor. However, it may be a bit heavy for me. I prefer something lighter. Still, it's not a bad soft serve ice cream. Thank you for the meal.

After cleansing the impurities of the secular world at the Trappist Monastery, you can enjoy soft serve ice cream with a pure heart. The bus to Hakodate Airport runs every hour, so it's convenient time-wise (although we ended up staying for a generous 2 hours). We had pre-ordered the coffee soft serve ice cream supervised by Hakodate Misuzu Coffee, with coffee powder topping as the only option, priced at 400 yen. There's a 50 yen discount coupon on their website, but it's no use if you forget to use it (like we did). The coffee flavor wasn't too strong, but it was a bittersweet soft serve ice cream for adults. The coffee powder topping is free, so feel free to ask for a double serving, although we were unfortunately ignored. Also, the crispy cone from Nissei is a nice palate cleanser, so I highly recommend getting it with your order (lol).

When I visited the Trappist Monastery, I stopped by for a sip of coffee with soft serve (400 yen including tax). They recommended floating the soft serve in the coffee for a cafe au lait style, but I prefer my coffee black so I drank it as is (lol).

I visited Hakodate on a trip to Hokkaido. After visiting the Trappistine Monastery, I took a break at the "Hakodate Citizen's Forest Shop" and bought soft serve ice cream. When I parked my car at a nearby paid parking lot, I received a discount coupon for soft serve ice cream at the "Hakodate Citizen's Forest Shop." Of course, I used it. The sample soft serve ice cream looked quite large. As a middle-aged man, this size seemed challenging for me. I asked if they had a smaller size, but it seemed they did not. So, I purchased the soft serve ice cream. It was a hot day despite the cloudy sky, and the ice cream started melting quickly. When I tried it, it had a rich vanilla flavor. Even with sensitive teeth, I was able to enjoy it until the end. The shop also sells souvenirs, so be sure to check it out. They even have "Trappist Cookies" that are not available at the Trappistine Monastery shop.

I visited the shop in the forest near the Trappist monastery after a long time. Besides souvenirs, they also sold soft serve ice cream, so I tried the strawberry flavor because it was hot. The strawberry flavor was rich and delicious.

Near the Trappistine Monastery is the Hakodate Citizen's Forest. By chance, I had the opportunity to see the cherry blossoms here. On the way back, I stopped by a shop for a break. The most popular item seemed to be the strawberry soft serve, which is said to have a high strawberry content. The strawberry mix costs 400 yen. Indeed, there are a lot of strawberries in it. The vanilla part doesn't taste very milky. It's more on the refreshing side. Perhaps this is to enhance the flavor of the strawberries.

In September 2020, after visiting the monastery, I stopped by this neighboring place. I thought it was just a regular park, but it actually has a nice shop. I decided to try their soft serve ice cream, which is said to be delicious. The flavor was... well, probably vanilla. It cost 350 yen. It was tasty, nothing too special, but perfect for a quick break. There were also tour buses there, so it seems to be popular. Maybe people visit it after the monastery. Overall, I recommend visiting both places together. Thank you for the meal.

On the 4th day of the Hokkaido tour, we visited the Trappistine Monastery. Our guide led us around, but it was a very sunny day and by the time we finished the tour, it was so hot that we decided to have some soft serve ice cream at the parking lot nearby. I had the "Strawberry Soft Serve Ice Cream for 400 yen." There was a resting area behind the shop where we sat down to eat, and it was a hit! The flavor was rich and there were strawberry chunks in it, making it very delicious.

I checked out of my accommodation and arrived at the Trappistine Convent in Hakodate on the 4th day of eating a lot in Hakodate. I took bus number 5 and got a 50 yen discount coupon for the soft serve when I got off the bus. The sun was strong and it was very hot when I got off the bus, so before heading to the convent, I decided to have some soft serve ice cream here. They had regular and espresso flavors, and the discount was only for the regular one. I enjoyed it at a table in front of the shop. It was just an average taste, nothing particularly delicious. I was hoping for more of a milk flavor since it's Hokkaido. If I had to choose, I would say the soft serve at the P Company Cafe in Odori Park was much tastier. However, the atmosphere in the park was nice and the two saleswomen were very friendly, so I don't regret stopping by. If I have the chance, I will try the espresso flavor next time.

After exploring the Trappist Monastery, we took a break and visited this shop across the road that supposedly had soft-serve ice cream. We decided to buy one to share, as we had already tried some at a ranch earlier. The Hokkaido soft-serve ice cream cost 350 yen. It was creamy and smooth, with a bit of a crunch. It was rich and sweet, so one was enough for both of us. The cone was neat, but there was a slight hollow towards the bottom. This type of soft-serve made us a bit thirsty. If comparing it with the one from the Trappist Monastery shop, we preferred the latter. However, there may not be a direct comparison as the connection to the monastery is unclear. The shop likely has its own demand since there are no resting spots within the monastery grounds. There were beautiful benches under a wisteria trellis outside where we could sit and enjoy our ice cream, making it a pleasant break. Looking back, we had soft-serve ice cream at three places in Hakodate, but we found the one from the Trappist Monastery to be our favorite in terms of taste and value. Thank you for the meal.

The shop is just a store in a park or parking lot. They sell soft serve ice cream specially made by the Trappist Monastery across the street. It's rich and delicious, with a special buttery flavor. It's the best soft serve ice cream in life. The Trappist Monastery has a lot of souvenirs that you can buy anywhere, but it seems like you can only buy the special soft serve ice cream here.
