In Fukuoka Tenjin, the BGM playing at a moderate volume creates a calming atmosphere, making it easy to lose track of time. The lighting is soothing, and conversations flow effortlessly over light snacks. The entrance, about 1 meter wide, leads up a staircase to the second floor, where you might easily miss the sign if you don't look carefully. The spaghetti I ordered came out surprisingly quickly.

I heard that this cafe is very popular for its retro vibe, so I decided to check it out. When I opened the door and went inside, I was surprised to see many young couples and a busy elderly couple running the place. It was a hot Saturday afternoon and the cafe was packed, so I wish it was less crowded so I could relax more. If it weren't for the smoke from the man next to me, I would have stayed longer.

I visited this place for the second time. The clientele seemed to range from regulars to those who found out about it through social media. The atmosphere was relaxing, the drinks were delicious, and I will definitely come back again! The staff were friendly and I highly recommend this place!

The coffee has just the right bitterness. The interior is retro and suits my taste. It seemed like there were many regular customers.

The restaurant has a great atmosphere as you can see in the photos. However, it has become too famous on Instagram, so there were too many young customers and it was not a relaxing space to unwind. Not recommended for those looking to spend a leisurely time at a cafe.

There was a restaurant that caught my attention, "Yaneura Bi." The sign was quietly placed along Oyako Street. The restaurant is on the 2nd floor of a building, up a narrow staircase. To the left after going up is an art exhibition room, and to the right is the entrance to the restaurant. The dimly lit interior gives more of a feeling of a ship's hold from the Age of Exploration rather than an "attic" as the name suggests. There is even a large wooden treasure chest placed inside. I visited at 12:20, with about a third of the seats occupied. There are about seven tables, mostly for two people, in addition to counter seats. Visiting alone, I was recommended to use a table for two and sat at one in the corner. The menu is displayed on LP records and one item that caught my eye was labeled "Metropolitan (800 yen, tax included)." When I asked if it was like Napolitan, I was told it was a meat sauce pasta with a hamburger patty and a fried egg on top. I decided to try it. The service was quick, with the dish served in 5-6 minutes. When I tasted it, it reminded me of the meat sauce from old coffee shops, bringing a sense of nostalgia. Breaking apart the hamburger patty while eating revealed a meaty pasta dish. Breaking the fried egg added another layer of flavor, making it more than just a typical meat sauce pasta. Just like evolving from a small city to a metropolis, the Metropolitan was aptly named and I enjoyed it. The atmosphere was quite charming, but unfortunately, smoking was allowed. Many customers lit up cigarettes upon entering, and even though there was an air conditioning unit, the smoke was still bothersome. Nowadays, most places are non-smoking, so my tolerance for smoke seems to have decreased significantly compared to before. I thought of leisurely enjoying coffee after the meal, but the smoke made it uncomfortable. After finishing my meal, I left without lingering. However, I hope this unique restaurant continues to thrive. Thank you for the meal.

I had a full stomach, so I decided to take a little break and visited this cafe that I was interested in searching for. I walked from Akasaka, so I was feeling a bit tired. When I turned left at Maizuru 1-chome on Showa Street, I found it. The appearance may make first-timers hesitate, but being of a certain age, I climbed the stairs without hesitation and entered. On the left side of the entrance, there is a bright gallery space. On the right side, there is a counter and several tables in the back, with other customers already there. The interior of the cafe is dimly lit overall, with various mysterious decorations scattered around. I originally planned to have coffee, but due to the heat, I ordered an iced latte. It was served within a few minutes. Being here, I felt like I was gradually freed from various annoying things. Thank you for the meal. I think that cafes like this are important assets that shape a part of the charm of the city.

Today, I will introduce a hidden gem in the heart of Fukuoka City, Chuo Ward, called Yaneurabaku. This place is known only to a few, but once you step inside, you will be greeted with a charming atmosphere that exudes a sense of tradition and history. The menu is based on records, adding a unique touch to the overall experience. Enjoying a cup of coffee in this cozy space is truly a blissful moment.

Let's have coffee at an old-fashioned tea shop. Blend for 420 yen. The atmosphere feels like jumping into a different world from Oyako Street. This cafe is located about a 7-minute walk from Tenjin Station on the subway. The counter is lined with talkative regular customers, and young people sit at the table seats, immersing themselves in their own world while watching DVDs. The coffee and food are cheap, and you can stay for a long time, even though it's not that great. A wonderful space. Non-smokers may find it smoky and uncomfortable, though. You can meet here in the evening and then go out for drinks, or have a meal and drinks before finishing here. It's a convenient location. Next time, I'll read a book here. On Instagram, I post a greater number of shops, photos, and detailed reviews every day. Account name: yopparaideska

During a period when I was neglecting updates, still in the distant winter of 2021, when I was commuting weekly between Fukuoka and Osaka. I had decided to decline work in Fukuoka City for the next fiscal year, meaning my time in Fukuoka City would come to an end by the end of this year. During that time, I wanted to visit as many new places in Fukuoka City as possible, places that I had always been curious about but had never been to before. That's how I ended up at "Yaneura Mukashi". It's kind of an art space, where various exhibitions are held. It has an artistic vibe that is respected by art enthusiasts, but may go unnoticed by those who are not interested in such things. The dim lighting adds to the atmosphere. It's a bit chaotic, which I like. I wanted to immerse myself in discussions about art with the regulars there. The menu is like a collection of LP records. I ordered something called "Metropolitan". It's not Italian pasta, but rather a dish you would find in a Japanese cafe, and it reminded me of spaghetti served in cafes. I visited during lunchtime, but I felt like it would be better to visit at night or during a peculiar time in the afternoon. I felt like it's a place where you go to drink, not just to eat. I moved to Fukuoka City in my thirties, and I feel like I missed out on something. If I had discovered this place in my twenties, I would have been completely immersed in it.

From Fukuoka Tenjin Station, if you walk towards the direction of Oyafuko, there is a charming attic cafe. Whenever I visit Fukuoka for homecoming or other occasions, I always make sure to stop by this favorite place. The interior of the cafe, with jazz music playing in the background, is filled with solo customers, allowing for a truly relaxing experience. There is also an art space, making it a delightful place to enjoy in more ways than one. The photo shows their delicious cheesecake.

I visited the second place. It is located on the 2nd floor of a building along Oyafukodori, about a 6-minute walk from Tenjin Station. The sign with a picture of a monster is a landmark. There is a famous food stall nearby that serves grilled ramen. You climb the stairs, open the creaky door, and on the right is the restaurant, while on the left is an art exhibition space. The interior has a counter and table seats, with a cozy attic-like atmosphere. Jazz music playing adds to the nice vibe! Since I was quite full from the first izakaya, I only ordered a drink. The menu for cocktails includes various options besides cafe items (coffee, tea, pasta, gratin, rice dishes), such as snacks and alcohol. It's nice to have options even when you want to drink. The unique atmosphere may divide opinions, but it has a calming feel where you can relax. That's why there seemed to be many elderly regular customers. I hope such places continue to thrive. Thank you for the meal.

Entering the street of disrespectful to parents, you will find a small hidden cafe up a small staircase on the left. Smoking is allowed, so it may not be suitable for non-smokers. I ordered a cold and sweet Ogura shake on a hot day and enjoyed it in the cool cafe. The owner is quiet and perfect for those who want to relax with coffee and cigarettes. There was a photography exhibition in the adjacent gallery, with quite provocative content. Apparently, even the photographer Araki has visited before. The cafe had young male customers sipping coffee while looking at their computer screens. Overall, it's a relaxing cafe where you can take your time.

The atmosphere is like an old-fashioned set, the prices are reasonable, the coffee is good, the cheesecake is thin. I went at night, but it was quite smoky because everyone was smoking.

The atmosphere is very calm and nice. You can talk slowly. I was a bit hungry, so I had a bento box. The rice was a little hard though. Hahaha.

It was an antique atmosphere, slightly dark and calming place. This time, I went with my boss, but it's an ideal space for going alone, and I'm thinking of becoming a regular customer. The coffee was delicious, and I had a bacon sandwich this time, which was also satisfying.
