The 551 ice candy's limited edition flavor this year is honey apple. I was curious about it since it came out, and finally bought it when there was space in the freezer! I thought it only used apple juice, but it also had apple pulp in it. Wow! It might be even tastier than last year's limited edition berry flavor. I bought 2 honey apple, 2 mixed fruits, and 2 chocolate flavors. Maybe it would have been better if I had bought all honey apple ones. All flavors of the ice candy cost 130 yen each.

After shopping at Takashimaya, we decided to get some 551 for takeout and headed to the Depachika floor. There was already a long line formed when we arrived... As we started lining up, the line kept getting longer and even extended beyond the entrance of Takashimaya, it was a sight to see! My child was fascinated watching the making of the pork buns through the glass window. The staff noticed and kindly smiled at my child while wrapping the buns, making the waiting time a heartwarming experience. Finally, we got our 551 and it tasted as delicious as always. I went all the way to Osaka because I wanted to eat sweet and sour dango. You can't buy sweet and sour dango from 551 Horai online, but you can find it in department store basements. The filling is incredibly delicious, and I enjoy it even more with added vegetables. Of course, the pork buns taste better for some reason when bought from the crowded food fair instead of ordering online.

The takeout paper bag from Horai in Penglai is Valentine-themed and so cute! I couldn't resist taking a picture of it. Personally, I prefer the char siu buns over the pork buns. They are not always available, but you can buy them at the main store.

On a Sunday afternoon, my daughter and I were relaxing at home. We were debating whether to go out for lunch when suddenly my husband returned home with a familiar paper bag in hand. Surprisingly, I have passed by the Penglai at Namba Takashimaya many times but never tried it until now. I made my first purchase this time - sweet and sour meatballs. It was only 300 yen including tax for 10 meatballs, which is quite cheap and filling. While it may not be as noticeable as the pork buns or other sets, I highly recommend it. On September 19, 2016, I used a 2000 yen voucher at Namba Takashimaya's 551 to buy meat dumplings, shrimp dumplings, and the limited-time YouTube dumplings. The YouTube dumplings are made with scallops. I spent 2000 yen on these and had a dumpling party at home. My favorite is the meat dumplings - they are big, juicy, and very satisfying. Houroku in Takashimaya department store basement is famous for its pork buns, but their shumai is also delicious. I tried the shumai, sweet and sour pork, and two types of salads. The shumai was juicy and tasty, while the salads had a nice tangy flavor. The sweet and sour pork was also well-prepared with crispy vegetables. However, the spaghetti made with somen noodles was not as good. The noodles were too thin and tended to clump together, and the flavor was too intense.
