I tried a restaurant in the basement of Funabashi Center Building that I had been curious about. They have daily specials and tonkatsu set meals, but I ended up ordering the tuna bowl with sauce, which was delicious. Next time, I want to try the tonkatsu set meal. It comes with deep-fried squid for only 980 yen. Many people were eating the tonkatsu set meal, which caught my attention.

I happened to enter a shop and ordered the Tonpei B set, which is a set with Tonpei-yaki (pork omelette) and a hamburger. The Tonpei-yaki looked delicious as it was made right in front of me. The hamburger was larger than I expected, quite filling. By the time I finished eating, I was full. Thank you for the meal.

I had dinner at a teppanyaki izakaya in the Fenway Center Building. I ordered the Buta Tamago for ¥880. It was cooked on the hot iron plate at the counter and served hot. The crispy pork and crunchy cabbage in the okonomiyaki were very impressive. It was convenient that they had already cut it for us. Thank you for the delicious meal. It was great. 5.4

It's a teppanyaki izakaya, but they also offer a variety of lunch sets. Despite the recent price increase, it's relatively reasonable and the white rice is delicious, so I go there often. Today, I had the oyster fry set. It came with four large Hiroshima oysters, rolled omelette, wakame soup, cold tofu, and pickles for 1000 yen. The vegetable salad was generous, and it came with two sauces - tartar and Worcestershire. You can get a rice refill, but most people find the default portion filling enough. The oyster fry was delicious. Thank you for the meal! (^^)

The older sister's response is too good. She easily won the Osaka city preliminary round of the "Excuse me, can I take your order?" with her cheerful "Sure" response. It feels genuinely friendly, not just for show. The food is delicious too. The chicken and rice soup is my favorite. Also, even though it's advertised as teppanyaki, they pretty much have everything. If you're not sure what you want to eat and feeling a bit down, definitely visit here! From a first-time customer whose face probably isn't even remembered. Thank you for the meal!

Today's lunch was at "Sanma-san", a teppanyaki izakaya located in Osaka, Sakaisuji Honmachi at the "Senba Center Building". It's been a while since I've been here. Oh, actually, I haven't been here much. I had the simmered hamburger steak set (750 yen). It's a bit hard to see in the photo, but you can tell it's been simmered a lot. I had high hopes for this dish. However, when it arrived, it looked quite different from the menu photo. It lacked the "simmered" feel I was expecting. The side dishes were surprisingly good though. Overall, it was a bit of a disappointment compared to the menu photo. This lunch was a bit of a letdown. Restaurant information: Address: 1-4 Senba Chuo, Chuo-ku, Osaka, 541-0055, Senba Center Building 3rd floor. Phone number: 06-6261-7716. Opening hours: 11:00-15:00 / 17:00-23:00. Closed on Sundays, public holidays, and one Saturday per month.

Visit date and time: 18:45 on a weekday Waiting time: None Menu: A la carte I was looking for a drinking spot in the Senba Center Building and visited for the first time. It seems like teppanyaki is their specialty, so I ordered the tonpei-yaki. It was a large size with plenty of sauce and delicious. I received a call inviting me from somewhere else, so I left the restaurant quickly, but the inside was quite lively. Thank you for the meal.

Hmm? I think I've been here before. According to Tabelog, it's been 5 and a half years. The fried horse mackerel was thin and the batter was hard, making it crunchy when bitten. The salad dressing with cheese was quite tasty. It's a rich dressing, so a small amount goes a long way, making it cost-effective for the restaurant. It was good that the interior was non-smoking.

I had lunch at the dining area in Joy Shipyard 50. There are many izakayas with similar appearances around here, and this place is no exception. Izakaya lunch typically consists of fried food, rice, miso soup, and some side dishes. I noticed that they had beef cutlet on the menu, which is quite rare. As a beef lover, I decided to order it. It was priced at around 900 yen, a bit higher than other lunch options, but still affordable. The beef cutlet had a good amount of volume and thickness, providing a satisfying meal. The sauce was a mild demi-glace flavor. It also came with salad and ham, which were tasty. The soup served was better than the average miso soup. Overall, the beef cutlet was surprisingly delicious with a decent portion size, making it a good value for 900 yen. It was a satisfying lunch experience.

I had lunch at a teppanyaki izakaya directly connected to Sakaisuji-Honmachi Station. I had the C set (¥900) which came with tonpeiyaki and shrimp fry. The freshly grilled tonpeiyaki was delicious with a flavorful sauce. The shrimp fry was also freshly fried and topped with plenty of homemade tartar sauce. The cold tofu, seaweed soup, and refillable rice were also tasty. Even without getting a refill, the portion of rice was generous. They also offer A set with chicken cutlet and B set with hamburger, both for ¥800. The grilled beef hormone set is also very delicious with spicy hormone, but it's not available for order from 12 pm to 1 pm. This is because grilling the hormone makes the teppan greasy, which affects the cooking of tonpeiyaki. Overall, it's a pretty tasty restaurant for set meals.

It was raining, so I stopped by Funaba Center for lunch at 13:10. I ordered the Cheese Tonkatsu set for 700 yen and sat at the counter. The chef started cooking right in front of me, and the Cheese Tonkatsu arrived in no time. It was really creamy and delicious. The miso soup was also tasty and a nice break between bites. I got a large serving of rice because it went so well with the meal. Overall, I was very satisfied with the lunch. Thank you for the meal.

The Ship Center Building No. 3 is still bustling even after 1 pm! I was curious about the Tonpei-yaki, so I decided to give it a try. You can choose from four flavors: standard, cheese, curry, and kimchi. I ordered the "Tonpei C Set (standard + shrimp fry)"! It arrived in about 10 minutes. The Tonpei-yaki, which is thinly rolled pork belly in egg, has a delicious sauce that goes well with the fluffy rice. The rice is cooked perfectly and tastes great. The freshly fried shrimp fry has a firm texture and is served with tartar sauce, making it quite memorable. Overall, this izakaya lunch with a variety of options is definitely worth a try!

The Senba Center Building is a huge all-weather commercial building located under the elevated section of the central avenue in Osaka, stretching from Yotsubashi to Tanimachi. It has been watching over the history of textile wholesalers in Osaka for about 50 years. The underground floor of the building houses a large number of restaurants, some of which are hits while others are misses. Today, I mustered up the courage to visit a restaurant without any prior knowledge. I visited "Masan" as it was the closest to the entrance. To be honest, the restaurant didn't quite suit my taste. The staff, both female and male, had a tense atmosphere. As soon as I entered, I felt out of place and quickly ordered the recommended "Masan set meal" for 800 yen with tonkatsu. The meal included a large tonkatsu with curry sauce, miso soup, rice, pickles, and cold tofu. The tonkatsu was decently thick and crispy, but the curry sauce was not tasty. It seemed like it was from a retort pouch. The reason behind featuring this menu as the restaurant's specialty remains a mystery. If they had used a demiglace or tonkatsu sauce with this quality tonkatsu, the overall experience might have been better. Perhaps I should have opted for the 700 yen tonkatsu set instead. The tense atmosphere in the restaurant was quite uncomfortable. The only saving grace was the atmosphere of the chef cooking okonomiyaki on the hot plate. Come on, Masan, you're in the historic Senba Center Building, please step up your game!

I dropped by around 1 pm on a regular day. I had the Chicken Katsu set meal for 750 yen. The Chicken Katsu was thick and juicy, with a crispy coating, but overall it was a bit heavy. The Wakame seaweed soup and cold tofu were refreshing. It was a hearty meal, more like a lunch menu at an izakaya (Japanese pub)! It would be great for those who like izakaya-style dishes. The daily special Tonpei-yaki with freshly grilled egg looked delicious too! Thank you for the meal.

There is a shop in the underground shopping area near Sakaisuji Hommachi Station. There are many affordable shops around here, and you can eat a single oyster fry for about 600 yen. I entered this shop because it was stated that the oysters were from Hiroshima. I ordered oyster fry, salad, rice with miso soup, and dashimaki for 850 yen. Although the daily menu was not displayed in the store, when I asked, they still had it so I ordered it. The four large oyster fries were served with tartar sauce and sauce. As stated, the oysters were large and delicious. There were no ashtrays on the tables, but there were people smoking, so it may be a smoking allowed establishment.

Today's lunch was at "Masan" in Osaka, Sakaisuji Hommachi at the "Senbashi Center Building." I sometimes come to this restaurant. I thought the food lacked freshness, but then I saw something I wanted to eat! I had the daily recommendation (850 yen) which was the "Hiroshima large oyster fry with dashimaki roll ham salad." I really wanted to try the oyster fry. It's that time of the year! After a short wait, it arrived. It looked delicious with four large oysters. Personally, I wish there was one more oyster. When there's an even number, the ratio of sauce to tartar sauce is unbalanced. I am definitely a tartar sauce person. So, I prefer tartar sauce over sauce. With an even number, it becomes 1 and 3, which is not ideal. With an odd number, it's 1 and 2 or 2 and 3, making it easier to eat in balance. Anyway, the oysters were juicy and delicious. Also, when faced with oyster fry, the dashimaki roll becomes a "whatever" side dish. They also served cold tofu with pickles, and seaweed soup. I'll skip the details as they were pretty standard. Today was a busy day with a typhoon approaching Kinki region. I used to work around Sakaisuji Hommachi area and frequented places like the Spice Curry shop in Ura-Taniyon, but I haven't been back in a while. Today, I visited Ma-san for lunch at the basement of the Dempa Building while on a training session. I ordered the pork ginger set meal. I sat at the counter and watched as the staff cooked the dish right in front of me on the teppan. It was delicious to enjoy the freshly cooked ginger pork.

At the basement food court of Funabashi Center Building 2, there is a relatively small restaurant that mainly serves teppanyaki dishes like teppanyaki and okonomiyaki. There are a few seats at the counter and table seats, so if the counter is full during lunchtime, you may have to share a table. There are many samples displayed at the entrance, including teppanyaki dishes like ginger pork, yakisoba, tonpei-yaki, as well as fried dishes like tonkatsu, chicken katsu, and karaage. Tonpei-yaki is a thin okonomiyaki wrapped around pork belly and topped with sauce, which is quick to cook and perfect for lunch. It's satisfying to watch the teppanyaki chef cook the dishes one after another. Today, I was intrigued by the "Masan set meal" displayed at the entrance and decided to order it. It consisted of a large tonkatsu topped with curry sauce, priced at 800 yen compared to the regular tonkatsu set meal at 700 yen, offering a generous portion. Although it takes longer to fry than cooking tonpei-yaki, it arrived within a few minutes. Speed is crucial during lunchtime. They also offer set meals with chicken katsu or hamburg steak alongside the tonpei-yaki set, which looks appetizing. There aren't many places that serve tonpei-yaki set meals, so this restaurant is definitely worth a visit.
