Shabu-shabu specialty restaurant in Nakashibetsu Town. I was invited by a friend to go there. I parked my car in the parking lot in front of the store and entered the store. The store used to be a bento shop. I took off my shoes at the entrance. It was not clear where the indoor shoes area started and ended. When I told the staff my reservation name, I was guided to a table in the back with a sunken kotatsu. There was only a roll curtain separating us from the next table, and it was quite noisy. I sat down and looked at the menu. I chose the shabu-shabu soup from options like "Japanese-style, soy milk, tomato, hot pot, medicinal, mate" and selected the meat. We chose Japanese-style and soy milk soup. We opted for a course with all-you-can-drink, including draft beer. We ordered the all-you-can-eat 4 types of meat set "vegetables, rice, pork loin, beef, whey pork, chicken". On the table, there were already assorted vegetables, sesame sauce, ponzu sauce, garlic, grated radish, green onions, and more. We started with a toast with draft beer. In less than 5 minutes, the 4 types of meat set arrived. It looked quite voluminous. First, we tried the whey pork with ponzu sauce. The ponzu sauce was probably homemade, not too sour and delicious. Next, we tried a bite with sesame sauce... The sesame sauce was also probably homemade, with a subtle sesame flavor. The whey pork was also quite tasty. Next, we tried the beef... but it was hard to pick up. It was stuck under the whey pork, and when we tried to pull it, it tore apart. The pork loin and chicken were also stuck under the beef. It would have been better if they brought each type of meat on a separate plate. Also, the menu stated, "If you leave food from additional orders, an additional fee may be charged." It felt a bit intimidating. I don't really like chicken shabu-shabu, but it came with all the courses. I wish they had an option for an all-you-can-eat course with just the meat you want. As expected, when there was little time left for the all-you-can-eat, we ran out of meat. I suggested ordering more meat even if we had to pay extra, but the women opposed. We spent the remaining time with just drinks. It felt uncomfortable. Next time, I'll just order a la carte. I don't think I'll come back though. Goodbye.
