On March 25, 2017, I visited Namba Station and took the Midosuji Line subway to Nishitanabe Station where my hotel for the night was located. As I walked along Abiko Street towards the hotel, I noticed several izakaya and yakitori restaurants. I tried to peek into a few of them, but they were crowded, so I ended up at "Motsunabe Issho," a newly opened restaurant that wasn't even listed on Tabelog yet. The young chef and his wife, along with a female part-time staff member, were running the place. I sat at the counter and was impressed by their excellent customer service, which already made my travel experience more enjoyable. I started with a lemon chu-hi to quench my thirst, and we were served kinpira gobou and fried squid legs as appetizers. For the main course, I ordered the signature dish "motsunabe," as well as "Amakusa Daio's Yukke" made with raw chicken and "Butter-fried shimeji, enoki, and maitake mushrooms." The Amakusa Daio's Yukke was delicious, especially when mixed with the egg yolk and onion slices. Next, the butter-fried mushrooms were a steal at only 400 yen and packed with flavor. Finally, the motsunabe arrived, and the broth was light and tasty, complementing the sweet cabbage and tender beef offal perfectly. The portion was generous, and I couldn't resist ordering the additional Chinese noodles to finish off the meal. Overall, the food was delicious, the atmosphere was great, and I was thoroughly impressed with the restaurant. I will definitely be returning in the future. It was a truly satisfying dining experience. Thank you for the meal!
