I visited Tea Room Peace-Do in Tokunodai, Kokurakita-ku, Kitakyushu City. This place is located on a hill with a beautiful view of the Kanmon Straits, where you can enjoy cheesecake. I ordered cheesecake and chiffon cake! They were delicious with plenty of fresh cream. I will definitely visit again.

Custard Pudding 490 yen
The location has an amazing view. You can see not only the Kanmon Bridge but also Shimonoseki on the other side. Plus, there's a snowy landscape. Enjoying a warm coffee while looking at the nice view, suddenly a strong blizzard came out of nowhere and surprised us at Tomonodai. When we left and descended, there was just a little bit of snow. You can really feel the difference in altitude!

Fukuno's Korean restaurant, Toge, is located further up the residential area from the mountain pass. I visited by bicycle, so it was quite a tough ride. The exterior has a stylish look with exposed concrete. Since it is on a hill, you can enjoy a great view of the Kanmon Bridge, Hikoshima, Rokurenjima, and Umashima. The atmosphere inside is relaxed, blending well with the surroundings of the journey.

I went to have tea with a friend. It's a tea room on a hill where you can overlook the Kanmon Strait. The location is in Tomonodai, in a residential area up the slope from the side road next to the Sakuraoka Elementary School entrance on the urban expressway. There is no big sign, but the unique exterior with round holes in the concrete wall is a landmark. Inside, there are 5 table seats and also terrace seats. Through the large windows, you can see the Kanmon Strait beyond the trees. The menu consists of drinks and cafe-style sweets only. Both of us ordered Iced Tea for 590 yen each, with my friend also getting Cheesecake for 490 yen and I ordered a pastry called "Panbi" that I wasn't familiar with. The Iced Tea only has Earl Grey flavor available. The Panbi is a simple pastry with custard cream sandwiched between fluffy cookie dough, similar to the texture of a Pousse. It is often introduced as a "traditional French confection," but it is actually made in Japan. Other handmade cakes available include Cheesecake, Gateau Chocolat, and Custard Pudding. Enjoying tea by the window overlooking the Kanmon Strait, watching the ships passing by, is a blissful moment. It's a place where you lose track of time.

It's a stunning cafe. The location is so great that the prices are like those in tourist areas. I think it was around a thousand yen when my daughter asked for a second serving of toast. It's not everyday you experience something like this, so it's understandable.

Nestled quietly in a residential area on a hill, this café is a hidden gem. I visited during snack time at 3:00 PM, and there were about 5-8 customers with only one staff member (who also handles cooking). It seemed a bit overwhelmed, so I waited outside for about 20 minutes. It would be nice if they had chairs for waiting customers inside. The exterior is a stylish large house, and without a sign, you might not even think it's a café. Inside, it's spacious and beautifully decorated! The best part is the view from the large glass windows at the back, which made the whole atmosphere worth it. I ordered an apple cake and apple juice, while my companion had a hot coffee. After a 20-minute wait, the homemade-looking delicious apple cake arrived. The crispy apple's sweet and sour taste paired perfectly with the gentle texture of the cake, and it was as delicious as it looked. My companion was also very pleased after taking a bite. We will definitely come back!

You can't come here without a navigation system. For first-time visitors, it may seem like a strange place to find a restaurant. However, once you arrive, you'll see that the view is truly amazing. It's a shame that you can't have a meal here. I tried a chocolate cake, which was okay, but I personally thought it was a bit pricey. If you have some free time, it might be worth a visit. Give it a try for a date night!

I decided to go to this cafe that was featured in a magazine as having a great view, and indeed the view was amazing. The cafe is located up a steep hill in a residential area. It's really steep. If it were a day with less PM2.5, I bet you could see even further. The menu offers slightly pricey tea sets. It was early in the morning, so maybe that's why the staff seemed a bit low-energy... I don't know what happened the day before, but please show a little more smiley face. (;_;)

Perfect for a tea time in the early afternoon. I remembered a shop I visited 3-4 years ago and decided to revisit. Located in a residential area, the shop was visible from below but a bit hard to find. After a little wandering, I arrived at the shop, which is situated on a hill overlooking the Kanmon Strait. It's great that you can park your car in front of the shop. The menu doesn't include lunch, but they offer coffee, tea, and several types of cakes. The drinks and sweets are quite ordinary in taste. However, the interior of the shop has spacious seating, perfect for conversations with friends or for some alone time. With the sea in view, it creates an atmosphere where you feel like talking about the future.

I went to "TeaRoom Ten" and was satisfied with the atmosphere, but my stomach was not satisfied, so I decided to visit "TeaRoom Piedo" which I had wanted to go to for a while. It is located in a quiet residential area called Tominodai, which I rarely visit, so I had to navigate through winding streets and finally arrived. The interior of the shop has unique furniture placed casually, with cute decorations displayed. The highlight is the view from the window, where you can see the Kanmon Straits and the Kanmon Bridge. It's a shame they don't open at night, the night view must be beautiful. This is primarily a tea room, so they don't serve meals, but their desserts and drinks are delicious. On this day, I had a dessert combo of red tea chiffon cake and cheesecake with my favorite chai tea. Finally, my stomach was satisfied, and I definitely want to visit this cafe again, even though finding it may be a challenge.

While organizing my PC, I came across this place that I had visited before. It's a bit of an old story, but in Kokura Kita Ward, there is a cafe called Peace-do located on a high hill overlooking the Kanmon Strait all the way to Wakamatsu. The location is great, with three dining places and one cafe on a hill beyond the urban area. The cafe has a unique building that may be a bit hard to find, but once you do, try to get a seat by the window or on the terrace. From there, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Mt. Temmoku and the Kanmon Strait. The location is really nice, with a view that adds to the experience. The menu is a bit pricey, with tea (coffee) and cake costing around 1000 yen per person. I prefer coffee, which costs 550 yen here. The cake options are around 450 yen each, but if you choose two, it's an additional 200 yen for a total of 650 yen. I had coffee and a gateau chocolat, which had a banana paste sandwiched between the sponge layers. It was sweet, as expected. The two cake sampler included a chiffon cake and a baked cheesecake, which were more refreshing. The food wasn't outstanding, but it was decently tasty. It may be a bit pricey, but the location makes it a good choice for a tea break. It's a nice place for a date or to relax after showing around visitors from afar. I wouldn't visit often, but for the location, I'll give it a 3.0 rating, with an extra 0.1 for the view. It's not really a place for old men, as I've learned (laughs).

I went to Peace-Do for the first time in a while. It is recommended to visit when you have plenty of time. I ordered a scone (500 yen) and chai (550 yen) from the friendly staff. The shop has a sweet aroma and a great view facing the sea from a hill in Kitakyushu. The familiar scenery looks different from a different angle, creating a whole new world. It's a place where you can spend a relaxing time. The scones here are a favorite of the shop cat. They are thick, so you can split them in half and sandwich strawberry jam and cream in between. The chai has a gentle sweetness and a comforting taste. Especially in the evening, it feels nostalgic and wonderful. You can easily relax for about an hour.

When I went on a business trip to Kitakyushu, my friend took me to this cafe. It is located in a residential area on top of a mountain, with an exterior that resembles a designer home or a small art museum. The interior of the cafe did not disappoint, offering a lovely space just as I had imagined from the outside. Furthermore, from the terrace, you could enjoy a panoramic view of the cityscape and Moji Port while sipping delicious coffee, making it a luxurious time to catch up with my friend. If I have the chance to visit Kyushu again, I will definitely make a stop at this cafe.

A shop that you can't find unless you get lost on your way to Moji. It's located in the middle of a residential area, looking like a normal house! Despite being in a very hard-to-find location, the shop is always crowded! The parking lot is spacious, allowing for quite a few cars to park. Luckily, after waiting for about 30 minutes, a window seat opened up. The shop is famous for its great view overlooking the Kanmon Straits and the town from the hilltop! I ordered a cake set with chiffon and cheesecake. They were homemade, not too sweet, and had an elegant taste, very delicious! The tea is also famous for being delicious! The interior of the shop is very stylish, with a high ceiling and antique-style furniture. It has a clean and cute atmosphere with a subtle charm.

First of all, the difficulty in accessing the location and the lack of people visiting are the main drawbacks. Other than that, it's perfect ☆☆☆ The weather is great on sunny days. It's a scenic spot where you'll want to bring your friends or loved ones! Located in a residential area in Tomono, on the border between Moji and Kokura, it's a building that resembles a museum. The location is quite hard to find. Cross the bridge near the school, continue straight ahead until you see vending machines marking a three-way intersection. Turn right, then left at the first corner, and left again at the T-junction. It's just ahead. If you get lost, ask the locals for directions. The roads are narrow and parking space is limited due to the residential area, so be careful! The exterior doesn't look like a cafe, more like an art museum. Once inside, you'll hear classical music playing, with art pieces hanging on the walls. The warm wooden floors and furniture create a cozy atmosphere, like an elegant tea party for adults. But the highlight is the breathtaking view of the Kanmon Straits seen through the large windows! You can watch ships of all sizes sailing through the waters between Kitakyushu and Shimonoseki. It's a unique sight, with the Kanmon Bridge visible in the distance. The menu mainly offers "tea," with a toast and coffee set available until noon. The coffee and chai are delicious, and the tea is served in pots, which is a nice touch. The homemade cheesecake and scones are especially tasty. The staff, although limited, may be slow in service and miss some details like spoons on the tables. But don't worry, just relax, enjoy the picture books and the view, and take your time.

Located on a high platform, it seems difficult to reach without a car. The road is a bit confusing, but if you keep going, you'll eventually find it. The exterior gives off a gallery-like impression. Inside, it's surprisingly small. There are two sofa seats, two pairs of chair seats, a long table for about 8 people, and three sets of seats on the terrace. It was crowded because it was sunny, and I was lucky to get in, but there were about 5 other groups who had to leave. I ordered a cheesecake (¥450) and a coffee (¥550). I actually wanted chai, but went with coffee this time. The popular chiffon cake was sold out. The taste was average, maybe they rushed to make it. The coffee was honestly expensive. Maybe it's a mistake to drink coffee at a place like this. I recommend trying the chai. The menu is limited, but on a clear day, you can enjoy a view of the Kanmon Strait. They also have a variety of books, so you can relax and enjoy. Just a couple of things to note - they should clean up sooner and maybe bring the menu earlier...
