As I walked through the store, I noticed that there was usually a long line in front of this particular shop, but on this day, there were only two people... a pleasant surprise! My husband loves these, so I bought them - one pork bun for 190 yen. I bought 4, so the total came to 760 yen! The freshly steamed pork buns just came out from the back, so I had them put in a bag and they were still hot. When I got home and opened the bag, the pork buns were still warm, so I warmed them up a bit in the microwave. The soft and chewy skin, sweet onions, and juicy pork made for a delicious combination! The pork buns also came with 551's mustard, but since I don't like mustard, I always have them with a little bit of sauce instead. It includes Tianjin rice, chicken tempura, shumai, shrimp shumai, chili sauce shrimp, spring rolls, meatballs, and other Chinese classic dishes. They all have familiar flavors, so I enjoyed them all.

Next to it, they are selling bento boxes. As a tourist, I don't often have the chance to try 551's pork buns, so I decided to buy the bento box instead. If I'm going to eat, pork buns are a must. Deluxe Pork Bun Bento (1260 yen)… * Gyoza - The slightly thick skin is chewy. The texture of the leeks and onions is nice and crunchy. * Karaage - Crispy coating with tender chicken. It's really delicious. A fairly large piece of fried chicken. * Sweet and sour dango - The gentle sweet and sour taste is irresistible. This sauce is incredibly delicious. You can pour it over rice. * Ebi Chili - Spicy. The spiciness of the chili sauce hits you hard. It's also delicious with a chewy texture. * Shumai - A delicious shumai with plenty of meat. * Pork bun - You can feel the sweetness in the dough. In March 2018, after work, I decided to buy a bento box from "551 Horai" at Hankyu Umeda Main Store. It was actually my first time buying a bento box from 551 (besides their pork buns and ice candies). The bento section is on the right side of the counter. This time, I ordered the exclusive "Chinese Okowa Bento" for 1030 yen. I received a number ticket and was told to come back in 10 minutes. After waiting for 15 minutes, I finally got my bento box. It was ready long before, but I had to wait outside the store. It would be more efficient if they finished packaging as soon as the bento is ready. The bento included Chinese okowa, pork bun, small shrimp tempura, shumai, sweet and sour dumplings, and pickles. I took it home and enjoyed it immediately. When I placed my order, the staff said, "We will make it now, so could you please wait for about 10 minutes?" I received a number card and wandered around a bit. Oh, there's a long line at Futarikiya!! The grilled egg sandwich seems popular! Oh, the conger sushi is here... I know Ueno-san likes conger eel sushi. While I was thinking about that, my bento was ready! Wow, it looks delicious! Chinese rice balls are tasty, right? The seafood yakisoba has a gentle salt-based flavor. This set is great! Just be aware that the noodles may soften a bit when you take it home, but they are quite crispy from being grilled, so it's not a big issue. Overall, it was a delicious meal, but a bit pricey. This was my first time trying a bento box from 551, as I usually only had their pork buns.

2016.10 Today I went to Umeda Hankyu Department Store, and headed to the basement food floor to get some snacks for a home drinking session. My go-to choice is 551 Horai! The shumai is good, but the best value is still the pork buns, even though they've gotten smaller. I bought a 2-piece pack and thought they could have kept the size the same even if they raised the price to 200 yen. I hope they don't disappear one day. The vinegar soy sauce for the dumplings is still delicious, and I always make sure to get it. It goes well with both dumplings and hot mustard, especially with beer. Cheers! 2016.4 I visited Umeda Hankyu Department Store to find some snacks for watching Hawks games. When considering both price and taste, 551 Horai is the best choice. This time I got the meatballs with sweet vinegar sauce for 300 yen including tax. I've bought this many times before, and while the quality of the meatballs used to be inconsistent in the past, this time they were consistently delicious. The portion size is good and the sweet vinegar sauce has a hint of brown sugar richness. They are cheap but well-made, and I was satisfied. I also got some hot mustard on the side, which added another layer of flavor. It was a great meal!

I may not write anything interesting but... (Well, then there's no point in coming back!) Oh, no... (sobbing) My first post back is from 551 Horai! I bought an assortment of items - must include the meatballs! The set included eight treasures, meatballs, dumplings, shumai, shrimp tempura, and I added extra meatballs. When you think of 551, you think of pork buns, right? (sweat) But what's even better than pork buns are the shumai and meatballs! Pork buns are popular for their meaty filling, but even more so are the shumai and meatballs! And the meatballs...that sweet vinegar sauce is irresistible! Delicious!! (screaming) If you haven't tried them yet, you should! They're as delicious as this old man from Rokkenjin! (drooling)

The other day, I visited Osaka for various reasons and bought souvenirs on the way back. It's still as popular as ever! My family requested pork buns and shrimp chili, so I bought them. 551 is popular with my family after our local pork bun shop. There is a 551 store in my hometown too, but I bought it just in case. The pork buns are slightly less sweet than our local favorite but still delicious. The shrimp chili is not too spicy, even kids can eat it. The shrimp are small but there are plenty of them, which is good for kids. Anyway, seeing everyone happy when I brought them back home made me feel relieved.
