I went to the Gion branch last night, so I got interested and came here as well. The nearest station is Shijo-Omiya, Omiya. There is a diagonal path called Ura-in-dori, and if you turn left onto the narrow Nishiki-kouji, you will see a yellow... what do you call it? Awning? shop. It was around 11:15 on a weekday. There was a middle-aged man fiddling with his phone in front of the shop, and I thought he was in line, but it turned out to be Mr. Sadakazu (pseudonym). There was a person watering plants a couple of shops ahead, who mentioned that the shop would open soon. I went to check it out, and it seemed like that was the original location of the shop. It might be Mr. Sadakazu's son (pseudonym)? They said they would be ready soon and asked us to wait inside. Inside, the walls were a yellowish orange, and the counter was in a U-shape with about 4 seats on each side, so a total of 11 seats. There were about 5 waiting seats inside. The counter was made of wood. The son of Mr. Sadakazu? was also very nice! First of all, his voice was gentle. The menu was the same as the Gion branch. Iberico pork chashu limited to 1,500 yen, back fat soy sauce ramen regular size for 800 yen, special ramen for 1,000 yen, large size for an additional 100 yen, and half size for a discount of 50 yen, if I remember correctly. I ordered the regular ramen for 800 yen. The order was ready quickly, in about 3 minutes. The visual presentation was similar. The green onions looked a bit fresher here. The soup... delicious! It felt slightly richer compared to the other branch. Maybe they make it gentler over there because it's usually consumed after drinking... The noodles... also delicious with medium-thin curly noodles. The bamboo shoots and chashu were also quite good. The chashu was soft and tasty. In short, I finished it easily. This ramen can probably be eaten even in the morning. Of course, it's also good as a meal after drinking, and you could probably eat it even when you have a cold. Am I exaggerating? haha There are several types of Kyoto ramen, but this one is a clear soup with back fat, a rich and hearty style. It was a good experience, combined with the personalities of Mr. Sadakazu (pseudonym) and his son. The timing is tight, but I would like to visit again (*^^*)
