On a regular day, I went alone for lunch. [Takana Bento] For me, it's a classic bento after the nori bento. Warm rice with pickled takana and shredded omelette. The toppings include the classic white fish fry and chikuwa tempura. The white fish fry had a crispy coating and a juicy interior. The chikuwa tempura had a slightly crispy texture today, with a stronger fry color than usual. It was different from the usual, but this crispy type was quite good. And the star of this bento is definitely the takana. The aroma, flavor, and texture of the takana combined with the rice is amazing. As a fan of spicy food, I sprinkled my own chili pepper on the takana. Eating it like spicy takana is my favorite. It seems like it will still be a while before I can freely go out. Let's take it easy and be patient. Today, it's another warm bento at home. I thank the staff at Hokkahokkatei and dig in!

I went alone on a Sunday afternoon. I ordered Oroshi Tendon with 2 shrimp tempura, flounder tempura, chikuwa tempura, and eggplant tempura. The lineup was quite luxurious and satisfying. Each ingredient was perfectly fried with a crispy coating and moist interior. The tempura sauce was sweet and savory, so be careful not to use too much. It's best to adjust as you eat. Eating with grated daikon radish makes it refreshing. The tempura lineup is occasionally renewed. This time, it was a version with grated daikon radish that is easy to eat on hot days. Dining out is not easy these days, so takeaway bento boxes are a precious find. I am grateful to all the staff.

It consists of warm rice with pickled mustard greens and shredded omelette. The toppings include the classic white fish fry and deep-fried fish cake. Today's white fish fry had a crispy coating and a juicy interior. While the fried items are delicious, the star of this bento box is definitely the pickled mustard greens. The aroma, flavor, and texture of the mustard greens combined with the rice are superb. As a lover of spicy food, I sprinkled some of my own chili pepper on the mustard greens, creating a spicy mustard greens flavor that I love. [Potato Salad] This was a complimentary item using a coupon from the app. A generous portion of potato salad on a bed of green leaf lettuce. It was moist and well-seasoned, quite enjoyable. I really like this. Today, I had the beloved Takanaben with a side of potato salad. Keep an eye out for side menu coupons on the smartphone app, they appear from time to time.

Unlike the usual seaweed bento with white fish fry, this one comes with mackerel fry and fish cake tempura, a unique twist. The freshly fried mackerel is thick and meaty, providing a satisfying bite. The fish cake tempura has a nice chewy texture. The kinpira burdock root and pickled cucumber add a nice crunch, perfect for a break between bites. I usually prefer soy sauce on my fish fry, so I was a bit skeptical about the sauce provided being Worcestershire. However, after trying it, I realized that the sauce was the perfect choice. The bonito-flavored soy sauce on the rice would make the fish fry taste too monotonous with regular soy sauce. For this bento, I found that the sauce complemented the mackerel fry well. I finally got to try the mackerel seaweed bento that I had been curious about for so long. While white fish fry is good, mackerel fry offers a different kind of deliciousness. Both the seaweed bento and mackerel seaweed bento are priced the same, so you can choose based on your mood that day.

The freshly fried white fish fry had a crispy coating and juicy inside. It was very delicious with tartar sauce. The chikuwa tempura had a nice chewy texture. The kinpira gobou and pickled cucumber were also good for a palate cleanser. The only downside was that the rice was a little cold. Hot steaming rice is always the best. For today's lunch, I was in the mood for katsu don. So I went to Hokka Hokka Tei. But surprisingly, they didn't have katsu don on the menu! When I asked the staff, they said katsu don and tempura don are currently not available. Oh well, I had to switch to the classic nori bento. After I ordered, I noticed that they also have a new item, "Aji Nori Bento" with mackerel fry instead of white fish fry. I'll try the Aji Nori Bento next time.

The tempura rice bowl menu gets updated occasionally, so you can enjoy it without getting tired of it. This time, the tempura rice bowl had a generous portion and was quite satisfying.
