[May 2016] Today, I went to MIO Tennoji and took advantage of the 5x points day for the MIO point card at Kaldi Coffee Farm. There were so many things I wanted to buy at Kaldi that I had a hard time deciding. I ended up buying chilled noodles and noodle soup, bibim noodles from a yakiniku restaurant, sliced ham, rich mango pudding, and blueberry dacquoise. The sliced ham at Kaldi is reasonably priced and delicious, so I've been buying it here a lot lately. With the upcoming season, I feel like eating cold noodles, so both the chilled noodles and bibim noodles seem like a good choice. I've tried other flavors of dacquoise before, and they were delicious, so I have high hopes for the blueberry flavor! The mango pudding caught my eye at the checkout counter, and the staff recommended it, so I ended up impulse buying it. It looks like I'll be able to enjoy what I bought at Kaldi for a while...
[February 2016] Today, when I went to Kaldi Coffee Farm, they were already selling cherry blossom sweets. There were many options, but I ended up buying two types. I got a cherry blossom dessert to eat with red bean paste and cream, and a sakura dacquoise. The cherry blossom dessert came with coffee jelly, but I added some vanilla ice cream I had at home and topped it with cute strawberries. The combination of red bean paste and ice cream was perfect. The cherry blossom agar in the dessert was delicious! The sakura dacquoise had a cherry blossom-flavored cream inside, and it was also very tasty! Both the cherry blossom dessert and the sakura dacquoise were subtly sweet, which I liked. I feel like I'm starting to sense spring little by little with these sweets...
[December 2015] It's Tsunukko and Chibitsunuu! While doing year-end shopping, we also stopped by Kaldi Coffee Farm at MIO Plaza Tennoji. Here's what we bought today. We got soba noodles for New Year's Eve soba and boiled azuki beans for zenzai. The low sweetness and the use of Hokkaido red beans seem promising. The potato chips were on sale. This yogurt liqueur with a cute cat label caught my eye. It was a jacket purchase because it was cute. This cat label is a limited edition label exclusive to Kaldi, and it's only available in limited quantities. Even if you stop by without anything specific to buy, you can always find something good at Kaldi. It's our favorite store!
[October 2015] Tsunukko and Chibitsunuu here! Today, we stopped by Kaldi Coffee Farm at MIO Plaza Tennoji and bought Baumkuchen and sliced ham. We had Baumkuchen as a snack with coffee. I love simple snacks like this! Kaldi's sliced ham is reasonably priced and very useful for snacks or cooking. -Recipes using this ham- Fresh spring rolls Rice paper was also purchased at Kaldi. This summer, I was obsessed with making fresh spring rolls all the time! Genovese pasta Pasta was also purchased at Kaldi. It's delicious and chewy pasta. Homemade pizza from scratch Made a large size and bite-size pizzas. All the tomato sauce was homemade. The Tabasco was also purchased at Kaldi!!
[September 2015] Tsunukko and Chibitsunuu here! Today, we stopped by Kaldi Coffee Farm at MIO Plaza Tennoji again. There was a Halloween corner set up with lots of interesting items for sale. We bought Halloween pumpkin soup (potage) and Snoopy Halloween pasta. Chibitsunuu: "The packaging is so cute!" We decided to have them for dinner right away. We made a Halloween hamburger set. I made the pumpkin soup by pouring a mixture of milk and soy milk that I heated in the microwave, instead of boiling water as instructed. It was much tastier than using hot water. The pasta was boiled and lightly seasoned with mayonnaise, salt, and pepper. I topped it on a cabbage salad.
