Osaka Station Building No. 1, located on the Nishi-Umeda side on the B1 floor, is a restaurant called Imai Kisho. They specialize in fish and Japanese cuisine, offering high-quality ingredients and dishes that change daily. Visited in August 2014 for a business dinner with a partner. The chosen restaurant was Imai Kisho, known for its delicious fish. We started with a toast with beer and then switched to sake. The sashimi platter included live eel, live flounder, horse mackerel, horse mackerel, and tuna, all of high quality. The rare grilled live eel was a standout. We also had bonito tataki, water eggplant carpaccio, and potato salad, all delicious. After a few hours of drinking and chatting, we decided to end the meal with whale bacon, which was lightly smoked and had a great texture. Overall, a great experience at a high-level restaurant in the station building.

Imaikisho (Osaka Station Front Building No.1, Kita-ku, Osaka) It's still hot, so I decided to explore Osaka Station Front Building again today. I found a new shop last time, but there were two people waiting in front of it. So, I decided to try a different shop. I went through the building from 4th floor to 1st floor and ended up at "Imaikisho" located near the west end. This restaurant looks like it has a long history, and I wonder why I hadn't visited it until today. When I checked the explanation on Tabelog again, it said that "Imai" and "Kisho" came together to create this restaurant in 2012, and there used to be a restaurant called "Ofukuro no Aji Imai" in this location. Ah, I see. That jogged my memory. I remember there used to be a place called "Imai" here, but I think they weren't open for lunch back then. Now, let's talk about the lunch menu. There are 3 different bowl sets available, all priced at 1000 yen each. The options are seafood bowl, beef and egg yolk bowl, and parent and child bowl. "What's a parent and child bowl?" "It's like a chicken and egg rice bowl." Normally, I would go for the beef bowl, but I'll try the seafood bowl this time (although I just noticed they have "Saga beef" on the menu, which is tempting). There were no other customers when I arrived, and no one else came in until I left, so it seems like they don't have many lunchtime customers. This means that they prepare each dish carefully but quickly after receiving the order. It took only 8 minutes. The seafood bowl consists of three types of marinated seafood on rice. The side dish was sliced pumpkin. They also served a homemade potato salad and miso soup that was poured from a server, not the usual pre-made one. Maybe the price of 1000 yen or the old-fashioned feel of the restaurant doesn't appeal to everyone, but I think it's a great place. I want to try all three options. We visited the restaurant after work with three colleagues. We made a reservation in advance. We started with a toast with bottled beer! It was our first time at this place, and since we were sitting at the counter with three people, we decided to go with the chef's choice of three dishes for 3800 yen. The appetizer was simmered bonito. We ordered another bottle of beer. The first dish from the chef was a sashimi assortment. The second dish was a simmered vegetable medley. The third dish was grilled yellowtail with miso. We also had some sake, sharing three bottles of 2-gou tokkuri. The sashimi was average, nothing special to mention. The vegetable medley was probably the best among the three dishes. Unfortunately, the grilled yellowtail was overcooked, as shown in the picture. The choice of the chef's selection of three dishes was a complete miss. The cost performance was terrible. We regretted not ordering a la carte. With a sense of regret, we made our way back home.

I visited Imai Kisho for lunch at Osaka Station Front Building B1, before 12:30 PM. The restaurant offers three types of ¥1000 rice bowls (beef bowl, seafood bowl, hand-cut bowl) and a ¥1500 daily special. When I arrived at 12 PM, the restaurant was still closed, so I considered going elsewhere. However, when I returned to the front of the restaurant, it was open this time! I ordered the Saga Black Wagyu beef bowl from the quiet and skilled chef. The restaurant is known for its cream croquettes, potato salad, and lotus root with mentaiko in the evening. The beef bowl was delicious with tender meat and flavorful sauce. The potato salad that came with it was sweet and sticky, possibly made with sweet potatoes. The lunch was so tasty that I am looking forward to trying their dinner menu next time. I will definitely visit again in the evening!

It's been a while since I had lunch at the station building. I was curious about this restaurant. It opened at 12 o'clock and I entered around 12:30. Hmm, there's no one else here. It seems like I'm the only customer. I ordered a seafood bowl. The chef is quiet. There's no background music, and the atmosphere is quiet. As mentioned in other reviews, it takes time for the chef to start preparing the food after ordering. The taste is decently good. However, the silent atmosphere... It would be nice if the chef were a bit more friendly. Thank you for the meal.

♪Japanese cuisine~ delicious~ heartwarming~♪ (Lyrics and music by Tsunku) "Imaikisho" is an unusual, calm restaurant near Osaka Station! The atmosphere is quiet, and with only one chef, a little extra time may be needed. ★Daily special set meal for 1000 yen including tax♪ ◎Simmered dish♪ Wow, beautiful! Shiitake mushrooms, daikon radish, taro, and bonito are all prepared with professional seasoning! ◎Sweet potato salad, grated tofu, miso soup, pickles, rice♪ The sweet potato salad is really good! But the 800 yen Saga beef donburi set that someone else ordered looks so delicious~

Today is a work day, but it's raining in the morning so I gave up on crossing the 2nd street and decided to try Shikinomia Imaikisho, which was closed last time. It was not crowded. Seasonal ingredients are used to create a world of Japanese cuisine by skilled chefs. The location is in the basement of Osaka Station Front Building No.1. Inside, there is a kitchen and counter seats on the right as you enter, and table seats like facing counters in the back on the left. The owner manages the place alone. For lunch, they offer handcrafted rice bowl with Ise Akadori for 800 yen, seafood bowl with three types of fish and shellfish for 800 yen, and beef rice bowl with Saga black beef for 800 yen. I ordered the seafood bowl. It came with a side dish, salad, soup, and pickles. The seafood bowl had sashimi scattered on warm rice with chopped seaweed and green onions on top. It included marinated scallops, red meat, white meat, and was delicious. The rice was cooked perfectly and each grain was firm and tasty. The salad was potato salad, shredded cabbage, and cherry tomatoes. The potato was sweet and tasty. The side dish was like homemade tofu. The miso soup and rice were delicious with no shortcuts. They pay attention to detail so I want to try more dishes next time. I look forward to trying the daily set meal. Thank you for the meal.

I finally made it to this place in the Kita-Shinchi area after not being able to make it for about 8 months during lunchtime from 2 pm. It is located on the first floor of Osaka Umeda Daiichi Building, just a 1-minute walk from Kita-Shinchi Station. The atmosphere inside the restaurant conveys a Showa-era casual dining feel. The lunch menu includes dishes such as Handmade Chicken Bowl with Ise Akadori Chicken for 800 yen including tax, Seafood Bowl with three types of fish and shellfish for 800 yen including tax, and Beef Bowl with Saga Black Wagyu for 800 yen including tax. I tried the "Beef Bowl with Black Wagyu (comes with side dish, salad, soup, and pickles)"! After ordering, it arrived in about 10 minutes. The tofu in the side dish has a rich flavor, allowing you to taste the true essence of soybeans. It's simple but the quality of the ingredients stands out! The salad comes with a potato salad, and surprisingly, the potatoes are sweet potatoes! They are extremely delicious. The harmony between the acidity of the vegetable salad dressing and the sweetness of the potatoes is soothing. The Beef Bowl features glossy black Wagyu, diced onions, chopped green onions, and egg yolk, also keeping it simple. The seasoning is similar to sukiyaki, with a sweet taste, and the Black Wagyu is tender and elegant, making it a luxurious beef bowl. The rice is cooked perfectly, and when you mix in the egg yolk, it adds a smoothness. I also enjoyed a pickled radish halfway through to refresh my palate, and before I knew it, I had finished the meal. The miso soup also brings a warm comfort. In this oasis in the station building where time flows leisurely, you can receive energy from the kind smile of the chef.

I visited the restaurant around noon, and I was the only customer there. I wanted to have a quiet meal, so it was perfect. The atmosphere inside was calming, and I sat at the counter. I ordered the seafood bowl for 800 yen, which came with side dishes, salad, and miso soup. The owner prepares the food by himself, so it may take some time depending on the timing. This place is recommended for those who want to enjoy a leisurely lunch rather than rushing. The seafood bowl was amazing for the price, with a lot of toppings like tuna and scallops. It was very satisfying! The miso soup, tofu, and seaweed were also delicious. Especially, the tofu had a rich flavor and I really liked it. The owner did a great job, cutting the sashimi and seasoning it after receiving the order. It's amazing that he can make such delicious dishes. They also had a wide selection of sake, so I plan to try it next time! While it seemed a bit pricey for dinner, it's a nice place for a casual business meeting. I will definitely visit again! That's all!

I went to "Shiki no Aji Imai Kisho" located on the B1 floor of Osaka Station Front Building. For lunch, they offer a variety of rice bowls for 800 yen each, including seafood bowl, chicken rice bowl (using Ise Akadori chicken), beef bowl (using Saga Black Wagyu), and the fish of the day (either simmered or grilled). I chose the seafood bowl this time. The seafood bowl came with a side dish, salad, miso soup, and pickles. The ingredients of the seafood bowl on this day were marinated mackerel, tuna, and octopus. Each ingredient was delicious and the bowl was packed with them. The flavors were a bit on the soy sauce side, which I personally enjoyed. At first, I thought having only three types of ingredients might be insufficient, but it turned out to be quite satisfying. The octopus was tender and easy to eat, which I really liked. Overall, the seasoning was great, and I would love to visit this restaurant again for other lunch options or even for dinner.

This is a shop located at the back of Osaka Station Building No. 1 (^0_0^). When you enter the shop, there is a counter right away, and table seats at the back. It looks like a great place for drinks at night, with delicious-looking dishes. However, due to the current situation, there are few customers (´Д`). Well, it can't be helped. For lunch, you can choose from 4 options (^з^)-☆ I ordered the Saga beef yolk bowl (800 yen). The beef yolk bowl has a sweet seasoning, and the meat is tender and delicious (*´・ω・`)b. Also, the bonito, salad, and miso soup are tasty too. I would like to try other menu items as well, especially seafood. It was delicious (^q^) Thank you for the meal ☀️

I saw a special feature on the Osaka Station Building at the magic restaurant on TV in May 2020. Originally, it was planned that the connection between Nishi-Umeda Station and the first building would be on B1. I often go to the B2 dining area, but I rarely go to B1 in any building. JR Kitashinchi Station is also on B2, isn't it? So today, I decided to have lunch on B1 of the first building and found a soba and udon restaurant that stood out. Next to it was a small Japanese restaurant. Yes, that's right! They said it on TV that when the station building was first built, there were many authentic high-class restaurants and eateries like Kitashinchi at affordable prices. The lunch menu includes four options, all for ¥800 each: Handmade bowl (Ise Akadori parent and child bowl), seafood bowl (pickled bowl), today's fish set meal (grilled or simmered fish), and Saga beef gyudon. I was tempted by the parent and child bowl, but I chose the Saga beef gyudon for ¥800. The owner started cutting fresh meat right in front of me. There was a small amount of onion, and almost no other ingredients. It's almost all about the meat. The side dishes included water eggplant, daikon radish, and salad. They were delicious. The black sesame dressing on the salad was also delicious. The Saga beef was rich and flavorful, similar to Matsusaka beef. It was a wonderful taste that filled my mouth with joy. It's a very high-quality beef bowl. The quality at this price is fantastic. I could understand the story of "It was full of delicious high-class restaurants and eateries at first." The owner did a great job. I feel like I want to drink alone here with delicious food and sake. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

The restaurant has a quiet owner and cheerful female servers, giving it a cozy izakaya-like atmosphere. They offer a variety of stylish dishes that you won't find elsewhere. The sashimi is small but high-quality, with the temperature being crucial. The medium fatty tuna melts in your mouth, leaving a smooth and velvety texture. The handmade dishes are all recommended, especially the lotus root manju which is excellent. It has a sticky and gooey texture with occasional bites of crunchy lotus root, complemented by a rich and flavorful filling. It was truly delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I was taken to a hidden gem izakaya in Osaka Station Building 1 by my boss. They served many dishes that I don't usually get to eat, and I enjoyed each one. The sashimi that came as part of the chef's selection was especially delicious. Taking advantage of my boss treating us, I also enjoyed some good sake. It was a rare treat. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

In the past, I visited the restaurant in Minamimorimachi before it moved, but this was my first time at Osaka Station Building. I now understand why I kept going back there. Delicate, uncompromising, and incredibly creative, the food was absolutely fantastic no matter how it was prepared.

I searched for a delicious Japanese restaurant in Umeda on the internet and found Mr. Imai Kisho's restaurant. I made a reservation and went there. The oyster with ponzu sauce was very fresh. The simmered bamboo shoots and seaweed in light broth brought out the deliciousness of the bamboo shoots to the fullest. The creative dish of oyster fry with thin bread matched perfectly with the oysters. The grilled shirako in soy sauce was very creamy. The recommended lotus root steamed bun, spicy mustard-flavored rape blossoms, beef tongue steak, and Kamo eggplant carpaccio were all delicious. The recommended sake was also really good. I wanted to try more dishes, but I was too full. I plan to try other menu items next time. Thank you very much.

It may have been just a coincidence, but the atmosphere was lacking in energy and felt gloomy. I ordered what was listed as "hand-cut bowl" on the menu, but it turned out to be a chicken and egg rice bowl. It was a bit confusing and not very helpful. The staff didn't say "welcome" or "thank you", which was disappointing.
