This is Hakodate, in Nakamichi. It's one street in from the cemetery line, near the Hotto Motto Nakamichi store. It's not difficult to find, but it's hard to describe. Let's just use navigation. There is parking in front of the store, about 3 or 4 spaces. Even if it's full, people leave quickly (the turnover is fast), so if you wait a bit, it'll be fine. The store isn't narrow, but the space right inside the door is crowded with a variety of items displayed, giving the impression of being cramped. It can be busy with people coming and going. I may be misunderstood by describing it this way, but the items are not just haphazardly arranged, they are displayed neatly and attractively, giving a good and cute impression. While the front may seem narrow, the back with the refrigerated case and the area in front of the register is spacious. You won't feel cramped waiting to pay. As I was browsing the store, I was offered tea, which was placed on a table for me, but I was planning to decide after choosing what to buy, and before I knew it, it was taken away. I felt bad for not drinking it after they kindly offered. I bought 4 types of cut chiffon cakes, Nanae apples, soy coffee, Onuma Yamakawa milk, 2 types of soy banana scones, tofu fruit scone, 2 types of okara cookies, pumpkin, sweet potato (from the refrigerated case near the register), and whipped cream, totaling 2400 yen. Some of the items were purchased as souvenirs, so I haven't eaten everything myself. The chiffon cakes were fluffy and moist, delicate, with fine sponge. The top part was moist with less fluffiness, while the bottom part was fluffier. The coffee and banana flavors were subtle, as well as the apple flavor, which had a slightly different texture due to the fruit pulp. I prefer it with whipped cream, which also enhances the taste. The whipped cream was mildly sweet. The tofu fruit scone was moist and soft, with dried fruits adding a nice touch - this was right up my alley. The yogurt scone was also great. I thought it was a chiffon cake shop, but they also have a wide variety of baked goods like cookies and egg biscuits, as well as tofu and desserts like pudding and almond jelly. With such a wide range of flavors, it's easy to get indecisive about what to buy. There are also many items available for tasting, showing their confidence in the taste. I liked the scones, so I'd like to try different ones and muffins next time. When will I be able to visit Hakodate again?
