This is an izakaya located on Dogenzaka. The restaurant is a chain with two other branches around Shibuya Station. The exterior has glass doors, allowing a view of the inside, with a retro-style neon sign. Inside, there are a few counter seats facing the kitchen, but mostly table seating with simple chairs. It's a lively atmosphere with many young people due to its location in Shibuya. Smoking is allowed, but there is a smoking room at the back, and smoking is not permitted in the dining area. The specialty here is the "denkushi" (chicken skin skewers), which can be ordered individually or in sets of 10 or 21, piled high for a fun presentation. The menu mainly features chicken dishes, all priced under 500 yen. Prices are displayed without tax, with a 10% service charge added. Additionally, there is a seating charge of 300 yen + tax + service charge, but a complimentary appetizer is provided. While the food prices are a bit high, the drinks are reasonably priced. Reviews show prices including tax and service charge per item. I had:
- Draft beer (228 yen): A good deal even with service charge included.
- Otoshi (360 yen): Lotus root and chicken with plum seasoning, decent flavor.
- Medium pyramid skewers (600 yen): Crispy and well-seasoned, a bit slow to arrive.
- Quail egg soy sauce marinade (300 yen): Lightly seasoned quail eggs with green onions, enjoyable.
- Parinko cheese (420 yen): Spring roll-like cheese snack, easy to eat.
- Nori 10x isobeage (420 yen): Crispy isobeage with extra seaweed, standard but tasty.
- Sichuan-style sand liver (456 yen): Sliced sand liver with Sichuan pepper sauce, mildly spicy and numbing.
- Fried tofu with bonito flakes (420 yen): Tasty but difficult to eat without chopsticks, seems cost-cutting.
- Freshly squeezed lemon sour (468 yen): A bit pricey due to real lemon, standard amount of shochu.
- Mega old-fashioned punch lemon sour (696 yen): Double the price for triple the drink, good value. The interior is hot, possibly to save on electricity, with a 2-hour seating limit. It's a good place for cheap drinks and snacks, especially for a casual night out.
