Limited season dorayaki with kinako cream and walnuts for 340 yen (tax included). It had red bean paste, roasted walnuts, and kinako butter cream. It was delicious. The crispy texture of the walnuts was great, and I especially liked the kinako butter cream. I also enjoyed the red bean paste. Thank you for the meal, I would like to eat it again.

In cities with a rich history, you can find delicious dorayaki. However, the plain dorayaki here is not that great. The unique texture of the red bean paste was enjoyable. The standout is the black sugar rum raisin dorayaki. The sweetness of the black sugar and red bean paste, the mature aroma of rum, the texture and umami of the raisins - it's a perfect combination. The level of perfection is truly outstanding.

I often ride my bike near Kitano Tenmangu Shrine, and sometimes I see a line forming a little west of the shrine. I looked it up and found out it was this shop. I decided to buy a dorayaki for a snack on my way back, so I bought the standard red bean paste (black) and white bean paste varieties. When I opened the package, the dorayaki looked very neat and tidy, just like the "Mikasa" brand. I cut each one in half and saw that they were filled with plenty of bean paste, giving them a satisfying texture. The red bean paste dorayaki (250 yen) tasted just like the traditional type, especially appealing to middle-aged and older customers. The skin looked thin but felt quite substantial. It tastes even better when paired with warm tea. The white bean paste and adzuki bean dorayaki (293 yen) had a gentler and sweeter filling compared to the red bean paste variety, which I personally preferred. It had two types of beans, creating a more complex flavor. They also had dorayaki with cream cheese or butter-based fillings, which I think might suit this type of skin better, so I would like to try those next time.

Located in a back alley not far from Kitano Tenmangu Shrine. There's always a long line even before it opens. About 10 people in line 10 minutes before opening. They offer a variety of menu items, but I recommend the black sugar butter flavor. The dough with black sugar mixed in, filled with red bean paste and butter, is a great combination. The chewy texture is similar to the dorayaki from Kurofune. It's quite large and filling for only 250 yen, a great deal. It's best to go in the morning as they sell out quickly in the evening.

I couldn't buy it last time because it was sold out, so this time I came back for revenge. There are several types of fillings, but I ordered the "azuki" dorayaki. The skin was chewy, and the red bean paste was packed full of whole beans. The sweetness lingers in a good way. It's quite satisfying to eat one. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I saw it on Instagram and finally made a purchase on my third visit. The first time I visited, the opening hours were different from what I found online, and the shop was closed when I arrived, so I had to give up. The second time, they were unexpectedly closed, so I had to give up again. But this time, I finally made a purchase. It wasn't my favorite dorayaki, but it was very delicious. It would be nice if there was a parking lot nearby. Thank you for the meal!

3/6 visit. I've been curious about this place for a while, but due to holidays and long lines, I couldn't go until now. Today, they had azuki, green pea butter, and another flavor to choose from. As expected from a popular shop, there weren't many left around 1:30 pm. I bought the green pea butter for 295 yen and the azuki for 245 yen. Impressions... Incredibly delicious. I started with the green pea butter, which had a texture similar to simmered beans rather than sweet bean paste. It was soft with a hint of sweetness and a proper bean flavor, just exquisite. And the dorayaki pancake was delicious too. Moist and chewy, not heavy or dry. I might be unknowingly praising it too much? That's how good it was. I still have the azuki left, but I feel like I'll finish it in no time. I'll definitely come back for more. Thank you for the meal.

I finally made it to Dorayaki Inome near Kitano Tenmangu Shrine. I always missed it because it was closed when I tried to visit. I tried their dorayaki with white and red beans this time. The fluffy skin with large beans inside provided a satisfying texture, and it was not too sweet, making it very delicious.

Kyoto Travel Review: Only one more place to review! According to my research, the dorayaki specialty shop "Dorayaki Inome" sometimes sells out by early afternoon. I had planned to visit after lunch, but due to getting off at the wrong bus stop, I decided to stop by on my way to the lunch spot. It was around 11:45 on a weekday, with two customers ahead of me. The shop had a small entrance like an old tobacco shop, with various types of dorayaki lined up. The simple yet stylish atmosphere reflected the owner's dedication. In addition to the classic red bean and white bean fillings, there were also limited edition dorayaki and unique combinations that I had never seen before. It was a tough choice! I decided on the classic red bean and white bean dorayaki, and also got the black sugar rum raisin flavor. The cute paper bag (without handles) with adorable illustrations added to the excitement as I headed home. Now, which one to try first? As a white bean fan, I started with the white bean dorayaki. It was delicious! The thick skin was a delight for skin lovers like me, and the fluffy texture was superb. The white bean filling had a nice bean texture and a smooth mouthfeel with a gentle sweetness. Next, I tried the black sugar rum raisin flavor. It was tasty! The rum raisin flavor was stronger than I expected, with a noticeable rum aroma. The red bean filling was similar to the white bean one, and the thick skin was delicious, but the black sugar flavor didn't stand out as much as I had hoped. Finally, I tried the red bean dorayaki. It was delicious! A classic and comforting taste, with a thick, fragrant, fluffy skin and a red bean filling that retained its bean texture. The sweetness was just right, creating a simple and satisfying flavor. The short shelf life until the next day makes it less suitable as a gift, but it's perfect for personal enjoyment. I prefer the classic red bean and white bean flavors, but I might still try a unique flavor next time. The joy of choosing different varieties makes me want to come back again and again. Thank you for the meal.

The shop was rated 3.49 during the visit. I sometimes stop by to buy. This time, I tried the "Tamba O-Namon Blend Azuki Bean". The bag at the shop says "love for sweet red bean paste" and it's not a lie! How can they make red bean paste taste this good~ it's amazing. I don't remember ever being moved by eating a dorayaki. It's such a special dorayaki.

I finally bought the Inome-san dark tea kinako walnut that I've always wanted to try (limited time only). The dark tea is made with matcha from the famous SHUHARI in Kyoto, and after seeing various reviews, I thought it would be really strong, and it was! It was a delight for matcha lovers. The dough and cream inside were both rich and you could really smell the matcha. I highly recommend it for matcha lovers. The kinako walnut was also incredibly delicious. Honestly, I was more impressed by this one. The walnuts were crunchy, and the kinako cream was rich and I personally loved the flavor. They have different flavors depending on the season, and I'm curious about the white bean paste flavor, so I want to go buy it again!

Next to Kitano Tenmangu Shrine, there is a dorayaki specialty store that uses Inome Daiginjo red beans. They offer unique dorayaki combinations that may surprise you, such as sweet red bean with twisted ginger and white beans, green peas with butter, domestic lemon with cream cheese, walnuts with pumpkin, black sugar with rum raisins, and black sugar with cream cheese. After trying one, you'll want to taste all the different varieties of dorayaki they offer!

Fluffy! There is a dorayaki specialty store near Kitano Tenmangu Shrine. I went there before and it was delicious, so I went again. With White Day approaching, I decided to buy these dorayaki as a gift for my patients.

Our neighbor, Ms. Inome, recommended this place to us and we decided to try it out. We went with her and had the dish with green peas and butter - it was incredibly delicious! The customer in front of us also seemed to be enjoying the cream cheese.

On the way to visit Kitano Tenmangu Shrine, I was drawn to a cute sign (^-^) This is a dorayaki specialty store run by the owner who hails from Nakamura-ken in Katsura. Before the pandemic, they had an eat-in option, but now they only offer takeout. They sell various dorayaki flavors such as traditional red bean paste, fruit, vegetables, and brown sugar, which change weekly. On the day I visited, they had 7 flavors including green pea butter, baked apple, and black sugar cream cheese. I bought the following two dorayaki:
- White Flower Bean White Azuki (280 yen): It has flower white beans glace and white azuki bean paste. The glace is made by Touroku-ya, a sweet red bean shop in Kyoto, in collaboration with Inomen's white azuki bean paste. The perfectly browned dorayaki skin complements the filling well, and it was delicious.
- Baked Apple (370 yen): It has a large baked apple sandwiched in red bean paste. The combination of apple's acidity and the sweetness of the paste creates a sweet and sour winter flavor. The apple used is Aomori's San Fuji. I look forward to trying different dorayaki flavors when I visit the area again. Thank you for the meal!

I went before noon and there were many varieties available. By midday, there were hardly any left. On this day, I was going to visit my friend's gallery and shop, so I bought two bags of apples for a gift, priced at 370 yen, a set of three green peas and butter for 260 yen, and white kidney beans for 280 yen. I also bought two apples and two green peas for myself, totaling ten items. I went to my parents' house and shared the green peas and apples with my sister. The apple dorayaki was mostly apple and delicious! The sweet and sour apple compote with red bean paste was also tasty. I have loved boiled green peas since I was a child, and the saltiness of the butter is so good! I want to try more items like the white kidney beans and sweet potatoes. The dorayaki is so big that one is enough to fill you up.

Salted Orange Butter Dorayaki ◎... A rare dorayaki that is sprinkled with salt before eating. The refreshing orange peel and not-too-rich butter make it delicious.
Kinako Walnut ◎... The walnuts in the middle are fragrant and the aroma of kinako is also nice. It is thick and has a satisfying texture.

August 2021. Before lunch, I visited a recommended dorayaki specialty store called "Dorayaki Inome" located between Kitano Shirakumemachi and Kitano Tenmangu. Upon arrival, there were already a few customers in the small but popular shop. The dorayaki menu for the day was as follows:
- Azuki Bean 220 yen
- Kinako and Walnut 280 yen (Collaboration with Togyuuya)
- White Kidney Beans and White Azuki Beans 280 yen (Summer recommendation)
- Salted Dorayaki with Orange Butter (served with Awaji Island salt) 280 yen
- Black Sugar Rum Raisin 280 yen
I decided to purchase only the White Kidney Beans and White Azuki Beans, Salted Dorayaki with Orange Butter, and Black Sugar Rum Raisin. The Salted Dorayaki with Orange Butter was already sold out, so I got it for myself.
I enjoyed them at home immediately. The dorayaki outer layer was moist and chewy, which I really liked. I prefer it over the famous dorayaki from Tokyo.
White Kidney Beans and White Azuki Beans: The large white kidney beans were delicious. I haven't had many dorayaki with white bean paste, but I really liked the beans in this one.
Black Sugar Rum Raisin: I love rum raisins, so I had to get this one. The dough was darker, probably due to the black sugar.
Salted Dorayaki with Orange Butter: My favorite of the day. Sprinkling Awaji Island salt enhanced the sweetness of the bean paste and paired perfectly with the refreshing orange flavor, creating a perfect balance.
Thank you for the meal! Although I don't often visit this area in Kyoto, I will definitely check it out again when I'm near Kitano Tenmangu. Next time, I'll go for the classic azuki bean flavor.
