This is the Fuijidera gourmet series! Instead of a high-end sushi restaurant, I decided to try a local sushi place. They are known for their delicious obento dishes, so I ordered a seafood chirashi bowl. It was beautifully decorated with cucumber and salmon roe, very colorful and lively. I'm looking forward to trying their eel box sushi next time!

In December of the 4th year of Reiwa, the operating hours are from 10:00 to 22:30. The lunch set (with red miso soup) costs 900 yen and includes chirashi sushi, 2 pieces of tekka maki, 2 pieces of kappa maki, sashimi, simmered dish, boiled fish, octopus vinegar, tamagoyaki, and delicious red miso soup.

The plan for this time is to visit all six branches of the long-established sushi restaurant "Matsusushi" that has been split off from Tenkacha-ya and enjoy some drinks. The third stop on this drinking tour is Matsusushi in Tsurugaoka, located in Fujiidera City, not in Osaka City. The restaurant is located about a 10-minute walk from Fujidera Station on the Kintetsu Nara Line, right next to the Fujiidera City Hall. The restaurant is housed in a single-family building, giving off a very local sushi restaurant vibe, or rather, quite a chaotic atmosphere. The seating consists of counter seats facing the chef and raised table seats. The restaurant operates continuously from lunchtime, so I visited around 4 pm this time. There weren't many customers at this time, so I was a bit surprised when I entered the restaurant. First, I enjoyed a cold beer to quench my thirst after a short walk from the station. The dishes I tried on this day were as follows: - Assorted sashimi - Grilled eel with white soy sauce - Sea bream skin - Vinegared miso salad with aoyagi (surf clam) - Rice cooked with squid and sea bream eggs - Toro (fatty tuna) nigiri - Chef's selection of 3 pieces of nigiri (grilled yellowtail, striped jack, grilled sea bream) The sashimi assortment was fresh and delicious, with a variety of fish. The grilled eel with white soy sauce was surprising in texture, very tender and flavorful. The sea bream skin was chewy and had a nice flavor with ponzu sauce. The vinegared miso salad with aoyagi was a unique and tasty dish. The rice cooked with squid and sea bream eggs was good but not outstanding. The Toro nigiri was rich and fatty, with a firm rice base. The chef's selection of nigiri was excellent, with the grilled yellowtail, striped jack, and grilled sea bream all standing out for their flavors and textures. Overall, Matsusushi in Fujiidera is a well-established restaurant with 56 years of history. The second-generation chef continues to uphold the tradition of serving delicious and fresh sushi.

It was delicious. However, personally, I thought the taste of the sushi rice could be a bit stronger. The customer service was also good, and I would like to visit the restaurant again.

[December 2015 Revisit] I revisited Matsusushi because I was craving their seafood chirashi sushi~(^^)／~~~ Their seafood chirashi sushi, like a jewelry box, is a luxurious version scattered with fish, shellfish, tamagoyaki, cucumber, and more~♪ - Seafood Chirashi: 1200 yen [November 2015 Revisit] I went back to this nostalgic sushi restaurant after a long time♪ This long-established place, now in its 51st year, still serves delicious sushi just like before♪ The fresh ingredients and the rice are just to my liking~(^ε^)-☆ I must revisit for their great value lunch!

I ordered delivery of chirashi sushi (without raw fish) for the first time in a long time as it was a taste of my childhood memories. It was delicious with a sweet flavor and contained ingredients like shrimp, sea bream, and eel. For those who don't like raw fish, this dish is fully cooked so it should be fine to eat. The mackerel sushi could have been better if the fish was a bit thicker. I ordered delivery this time and it was free of charge. The food arrived in just 20 minutes after ordering, which was quite impressive.

I visited Matsusushi, which I had been curious about for a while. It is located at the corner of the Koyama intersection in Fujiidera, and there is a beauty salon nearby. When I entered the shop, I saw counter seats and table seats, it seemed like a cozy little place. I sat at the counter and ordered a draft beer, a sushi roll, a sushi assortment, and miso soup. The miso soup was ordinary, but the sushi was really delicious. The chef was lively and seemed like a traditional sushi restaurant. They also offer lunch and takeout, so I would like to go for lunch next time. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.
