Stylish and trendy. Possibly the only one in Fukuoka city? Iyemon Cafe from Kyoto. They offer a variety of matcha sweets and drinks, all looking delicious and photogenic. Since I wasn't feeling well that day, I opted for a hot yuzu matcha drink. It was warm and consistently tasty.

During a break, I decided to visit this place. I like matcha and tea. My companion had the Uji matcha latte float, while I had the Uji matcha soft serve with red bean paste and a drink set. I arrived at the cafe, and with my tired brain, I decided to order a strong matcha latte for 880 yen and a sweet treat of matcha soft serve for 500 yen. Or at least that's what I thought I ordered. But what was served in front of me was a strong matcha latte and a matcha latte float for 890 yen! As I pondered, I realized that I did mention matcha latte float. When I brought the two drinks to my wife and daughter, they burst out laughing. After explaining the mix-up, we all had a good laugh. However, it was a soothing experience for my tired body and brain. I must say, Ito En serves excellent matcha. It may be a bit pricey, but I have no complaints. The matcha warabi mochi with red bean paste on top of the parfait was delicious. The monaka on top was crispy and tasty. The warabi mochi was chewy with a crunchy candy-like filling, very delicious. The matcha soft serve ice cream was rich and tasty. Matcha cream anmitsu was also delicious.

Since it is a commercial facility, there is a parking lot, and there is also a direct bus from Hakata Station, making it convenient to access. There are also many bicycle parking spaces, making it easy for cyclists to visit. "Ito En Cafe" is located on the 3rd floor of "Lalaport Fukuoka." When "Lalaport Fukuoka" first opened, there used to be long lines outside the store, but now it's relatively calm. I was able to enter without waiting and took a seat. Discovered Itoen Cafe at Fukuoka Ra Ra Port's restaurant street. I was curious so I decided to go in. While the classic matcha float caught my eye, I ultimately chose the mango and lychee sencha float. The sencha was not too strong, just normal, but I was surprised by how well the mango and sencha went together! The lemon and mint also blended surprisingly well, creating a refreshing taste. The lychee sherbet was a good match too, and when it melted a bit and mixed with the drink, it provided a nice change in flavor. Opened in spring 2022, lalaport Fukuoka is a shopping mall with a food court that includes popular restaurants from Tokyo, showcasing the true capabilities of lalaport even in Fukuoka. Some people mistakenly compare lalaport to Aeon, but they are completely different. It can be embarrassing to hear such comparisons. One notable spot in the food court is Itoen Cafe. I went to Starbucks with my daughter who loves matcha, but we were torn between there and another place in Lalaport. The matcha latte was delicious, with a slightly bitter and adult taste, but it was a bit pricey... There was a lot of ice, and it felt like I could finish it in 3 seconds, haha. Itohachi Cafe in Fukuoka, produced by Itohachi, is located in the commercial facility "Lalaport" which has recently opened. They offer a variety of tea menu using tea leaves from a long-established tea shop, as well as food options. The seating area is a bit small with tables and sofa seats, similar to a fast-food restaurant. I tried the Salt Koji-marinated Tuna and Avocado Rice Bowl for ¥1,180, which came with matcha sauce, and the Grated Onion Sauce Hamburger Rice Bowl for the same price. Since Itohachi Cafe mainly focuses on sweets, the taste of the dishes was average. I would not recommend the Tuna Rice Bowl with matcha sauce as the flavors did not mix well. It's worth a visit as it's a new addition to Fukuoka, but the food portions are a bit too much for a cafe. It could be a good option for when you want something more than just a cafe experience.

After walking around Lalaport and getting tired, I couldn't resist the temptation of something sweet... I love Shiratama, so I ordered this without hesitation. The ice cream was rich and delicious. It would have been even better if there was a mini size available. Maybe just the ice cream would have been enough, the bottom part was a bit disappointing.

I was finally able to visit at a relaxing time. I ordered the Uji matcha soft serve for 480 yen and my partner ordered the Uji matcha latte float for 890 yen (expensive!). The Uji matcha in the soft serve was rich and delicious! However, there were too many ice cubes in the latte, the glass was filled with ice. A bit disappointing.

I took out drinks from Iemon Cafe, the first store in Kyushu at the food court of Canal City Hakata. Although it is located in the food court, you can also dine in the cafe. They offer food menu as well, with sweets like matcha soft serve and anmitsu being the main attractions. They gave me a receipt with a number written on it, and when my number was called, I went to pick up my order. The red bean dessert was quite filling. It came with a rich matcha sauce that was a delight for matcha lovers. The sencha tea was calming. I think it's a good place for people to take a break if they're tired from shopping at LaLaport.

After shopping, I went to a place where I could enjoy some sweet treats without waiting in line. It was delicious!
