Located an 8-minute walk from Umeda Station and just a few minutes from Nakatsu Station, this soup curry restaurant opened in August 2023. Intrigued by the word "Mikkyo" in the name, I decided to give it a try. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere with a small L-shaped counter seating for about 10 people. They use 18 different spices to create their spicy soup curry.
You can customize your meal by choosing from 4 types of toppings:
- Tender fried chicken (¥1200)
- Tender simmered salted pork (¥1200)
- Shrimp and seafood mix (¥1200)
- Assorted vegetables (¥1000)
For the soup flavor, you can choose from 5 options and select the level of spiciness from 1 to 50:
- Standard (no additional cost)
- Tomato (+¥50)
- Milky soy (+¥50)
- Coconut (+¥100)
- Shrimp miso (+¥100)
Toppings include cilantro, bean threads, and more. Rice is free up to 300g, with an additional ¥100 for 400g. I ordered the tender fried chicken with the standard soup at a medium spice level and no additional toppings in a medium portion (200g) for ¥1200.
The rice was saffron-flavored, and the chicken had minimal fat with a good kick of spice from red and green chili peppers. The soup was flavorful and slightly creamy with a nice balance of spices. The vegetables were plentiful and varied, making the meal quite filling. The value for money was excellent, and I would definitely visit again to try different combinations. Check out their Instagram for more Osaka restaurant recommendations!

On Saturday around 7 pm, I visited with one guest and later two staff members, both of whom appeared to be of Indian descent. I ordered the seafood standard soup with a spice level of 5 and 150g of rice. The soup curry was more like a curry, so be aware of that. I mistook green beans for green chili peppers, so be cautious! There is nothing particularly noteworthy about this place. I prefer my rice a bit less moist. It was good that the vegetables were not fried.

Visited around 12:30 on a weekday. The restaurant was 90% full, mostly with nearby office workers. Two Indian staff members were working. I ordered the standard soup with simmered salted pork, 300g of rice, and level 9 spiciness. It arrived in about 5 minutes in a sizzling iron pot, very hot. The soup lacked a bit of depth in flavor, but the spiciness was good. There were plenty of vegetables in it, but the simmered pork only had two pieces. I wish they would bring out more flavor in the broth. A new soup curry place called JACK opened nearby, so competition will be fierce. I hope they improve and offer even tastier soup curry in the future.

First visit. I found a soup curry restaurant that opened on August 26th while taking a walk. I visited the restaurant again on this day. The interior of the restaurant has only a counter. I entered without waiting and placed my order. I ordered the shrimp and seafood mix (1,250 yen) with shrimp miso soup spiciness level 6 (100 yen) and toppings: 1) Spicy keema (300 yen), 2) Soft fried chicken (200 yen), 3) Cilantro (120 yen), and 150g of rice, totaling 1,970 yen, which turned out to be a relatively expensive soup curry (^◇^;) It took about 5 minutes to wait. The soup curry arrived and the taste was... delicious (*´艸`) I chose spiciness level 6, which was mild, but I still found it easy to eat. I tend to sweat a lot in response to spices, so I chose a milder level, but I still ended up sweating (^◇^;) Next time, I want to challenge myself with a spicier level, maybe bring a sports towel instead of a handkerchief... Inside the soup curry were half portions of shrimp and fish fry (quite large), and the vegetables included bell peppers, green peppers, carrots, potatoes, onions, shiitake mushrooms, eggplant, and bitter melon. I think that's all I remember... I was happy with the generous amount of ingredients, and I highly recommend adding the spicy keema topping on the saffron rice! It's just my personal opinion, but it's recommended! It was delicious, so I finished it in no time and thought I'd like to come back again! Thank you for the meal (^O^) I'll be back!
