I visited a nice-looking restaurant while wandering around Kabukicho on a Sunday at 7:03 pm. I was seated at a table on the 2nd floor. I ordered the 980 yen all-you-can-drink option and had a brand of barley shochu called Wan Ko on the rocks. The appetizer, priced at 380 yen, included grated daikon radish, seaweed, and beans in a sauce. For snacks, I ordered raw tuna sashimi for 750 yen, raw liver for 780 yen, homemade quail eggs for 390 yen, and skate fin for 390 yen. There were young couples among the customers. I had a great time. Thank you for the meal.

The other day, I went to a specialty chicken restaurant called "Torikyo" in Shinjuku. They use domestically produced brand chicken called "Miohime Chicken". The restaurant is located in Kabukicho, close to Seibu Shinjuku Station. This time, I ordered the 7-course "SHUN Course": Today's appetizer, Seasonal vegetable salad, Today's special dish, Miohime Chicken tempura, Assorted Miohime Chicken skewers, Special Miohime Chicken rice bowl, Seasonal dessert. But when I looked back later, it turned out they also included an appetizer, so there were actually 8 dishes in total. - Appetizer: Salted kombu cabbage and quail eggs. The quail eggs had a delicious flavor. - Today's appetizer: Salmon and octopus carpaccio. It was nice to have two different types. - Seasonal vegetable salad: Caesar dressing with plenty of croutons, a flavor I like. - Today's special dish: Stir-fried vegetables with motsu (offal). A generous portion. - Miohime Chicken tempura: Since it's a chicken restaurant, the chicken tempura was delicious. It also came with sweet potato tempura and bell pepper tempura. - Assorted Miohime Chicken skewers: Also delicious, as expected from a chicken restaurant. - Special Miohime Chicken rice bowl: It looks very simple, but this was my favorite. - Seasonal dessert: Topped with strawberries and blueberries. All of this, plus a 2-hour all-you-can-drink option, cost only 3,480 yen including tax, making it a great deal. The portions were generous, the flavors were all delicious, and the cost performance was excellent!

3500 yen all-you-can-drink course. Used for a drinking party on the 2nd floor, where there were private rooms with round tables. It was crowded and fully booked. In terms of cost performance, it was average. I wish there was a bit more food. The yakitori and tempura were especially delicious. It might be enough for women, but men might find it lacking. If you want to eat a lot, ordering individual dishes might be better than the course!

I ordered the exquisite half-cooked egg menchi katsu, fried eggplant with grated ginger, deep-fried chicken, and a variety of skewers including liver, negima (chicken and green onion skewers), nankotsu (cartilage), mushroom tsukune, and quail egg. The meticulous preparation of the dishes and the beautiful presentation were impressive. Shinjuku Kabukicho is really scary, so I never approach it, but when walking around, all the shops are closed and there are few people, so it's safer to walk than at night. In the deserted area, there is a bar that operates like an oasis. This shop opens at 15:30, which is convenient when you feel like having a drink during the day! And the draft beer is only 280 yen all day long - amazing! Being the first customer to arrive, I could relax by myself... ▼ Myoga and sesame oil salad for 650 yen. This... I couldn't stop eating with chopsticks. The crunchy myoga is delicious, but what I thought was diagonally cut green onions turned out to be cucumber. They peel the cucumber like a katsura and cut it diagonally... Do you understand? This way of eating cucumber was new to me and quite moving. Simple and deeply delicious. ▼ Fresh tuna sashimi for 690 yen. It's lean, but since it's fresh tuna, it doesn't have that refrigerator taste. Frozen tuna becomes inedible, right? ▼ Liver. I feel like this is the most recommended item at this shop. It's big and so tender that it disappears in an instant. I was thinking of getting tempura or fried chicken, but the salad was quite filling and I ended up getting full. You can watch TV here, and I think it's a hidden gem. By the time I left the shop, Kabukicho was bustling. Thank you for the meal.

I had a Mob-like perception of this place, with many similar shops lined up, but I decided to stop by. The result was just average. However, there was nothing bad about it, and it was a place where you could comfortably have a drink alone at the counter. It was interesting to see they served meat-stuffed Shishito peppers instead of bell peppers.

On this day, we went drinking in Shinjuku! We visited a place near Seibu Shinjuku Station that is open from 3pm on weekdays. I found out after entering that this place offers beer for around 280 or 290 yen, under 300 yen including tax, which was a pleasant surprise. Here's what we had: - Liver sashimi, which was actually low-temperature cooked. When eaten with salted sesame oil, it tasted like liver sashimi. - Baked potato cheese, a coarse mashed potato cheese served hot on a hot plate, with the cheese stretching as you lift it with a spoon. - Bonjiri yakitori, with a crispy exterior and juicy interior, very delicious. - Cheese fry, not the usual triangular fried cheese, but a type with cheese wrapped in wonton skin, served with berry jam. - Soft-boiled egg menchi-katsu, a menchi-katsu where the main highlight is the soft-boiled egg with a runny yolk. - Fried rice to finish off the meal. The restaurant seemed small, but the second-floor seating with a restroom was spacious. According to Tabelog, there are private rooms available, making it suitable for a discreet visit. I was the first customer at Torikyo, a charcoal-grilled chicken specialty restaurant in Kabukicho, and asked the recommended dish from the staff. They suggested the liver, which is fresh because it's prepared in the morning. The happy hour price for draft beer all day long is great. The appetizer of gizzard is a nice touch for a chicken specialty restaurant. I love snacking on stingray fin while waiting for the grilled chicken. Grilled vegetable skewers are a must, especially my favorite cherry tomatoes and zucchini. The light saltiness and sweetness from grilling are delicious. Be careful not to burn your mouth with the cherry tomatoes! The tomato and avocado salad is simply seasoned, meant to be eaten with a spoon. Chicken tenderloin with spicy cod roe, chicken neck, and liver are all delicious. The liver, the top-selling item, is incredibly tasty. The chicken neck is lightly salted, allowing you to savor the natural flavor of the chicken. The mild chicken tenderloin pairs well with the salty cod roe. I had an early dinner at Torikyo in Shinjuku, a yakitori and motsunabe izakaya. It seems to be pronounced as Torikyo. The restaurant is close to the entrance of Kabukicho and has a beautiful interior. I sat at the counter seat. They have a variety of dishes that go well with alcohol, making it hard to choose. I started with a refreshing Grapefruit Sour, perfect for the first drink. The Long Potato and Avocado Salad was crunchy and stylish, a nice vegetable dish to have with alcohol. I ordered the Special Chicken Thigh with sauce, made from the freshly sourced beautiful chicken. It was so fragrant and the thick, fluffy yakitori was delicious. I also ordered the Chicken Wings with sauce, which were large and well-cooked, with a crispy exterior and juicy inside. It was a delightful dining experience, and I found the atmosphere cozy and inviting. I ended up drinking more than I planned because it was so comfortable.

Met up with friends for a daytime drink and caught sight of a sign on the door saying open from 3:00 pm, but decided to try our luck and walked in - and it was okay! The first floor of the restaurant had table seating and a counter, with a good amount of space between tables. We wanted to catch up on things, so I asked if they offered a course menu on the spot, and they said yes! (They mentioned that it may not be available during busy times or days, so it's worth asking depending on the situation!) I was grateful they accepted our request on such short notice! The course included: - Cucumber with salted kelp - Homemade quail eggs - Chicken breast Caesar salad - Fresh fish carpaccio - Assorted grilled skewers (tomato, quail egg, skin, heart, chicken wings) - Wagyu tripe teppanyaki - Beautiful cherry chicken tempura assortment (beautiful cherry chicken, tomato, bell pepper, sweet potato) - Udon noodles - Seasonal berry mousse chocolate cake The skewers were all hits even though they were chef's choice! The tempura was crispy and surprisingly sweet, while the chicken was tender and delicious. The udon noodles at the end were a refreshing finish to the meal, especially on a hot day. The dishes had a spicy kick that went well with the drinks, and the staff were attentive, regularly bringing small plates and ensuring our comfort. By 2:00 pm, the restaurant was fully booked with solo diners at the counter, other groups of friends, and couples, creating a cozy atmosphere. Overall, everything that came out was delicious. The satisfaction exceeded the price. It's a great place for lunch drinking or a hearty night out (with a wide menu selection). The table seats were already full before 15:00, so it's recommended to make a reservation for dinner or arrive early. However, there were a few seats available at the counter, so it's also recommended for solo lunch dining! The fried rice, yakisoba, and rice dishes looked delicious too. I want to go back again! The interior of the restaurant is clean, perhaps because it is either newly opened or not been open for long. While chicken dishes are the main focus, the menu is extensive and includes some slightly more sophisticated dishes than your typical casual izakaya. They use only the high-quality Miojo chicken sourced daily, offering not just yakitori but a variety of chicken dishes. The yakitori menu includes popular items like liver, negima, and tsukune, which can be ordered individually, offering a substantial amount per skewer. The liver is smooth and melts in your mouth, with a perfect balance of sweet and spicy sauce. The negima skewers are salty with a crispy exterior and juicy interior, while the tsukune has a nice glaze and pairs well with the accompanying quail egg yolk. The homemade quail eggs are flavorful and make for a great snack or drinking accompaniment. The fresh tuna sashimi was satisfying with a nice toro-like texture. The tomato avocado salad is refreshing with generous portions of tomato, avocado, cucumber, and onion marinated for a light and pleasant taste. I was walking from Seibu Shinjuku Station towards the center of Kabukicho when I came across this place. It was still early (3:30 pm) but they were open and I couldn't resist going in because the draft beer was only 280 yen (laughs). The first floor was filled with men drinking alone, including myself. It seemed like a large establishment with five floors. The atmosphere changed when I went up to the second floor, and it looked suitable for parties. The three types of appetizers were a nice touch. The fluffy and creamy iron plate egg omelet for 550 yen was really delicious. It was surprisingly hot even after some time. I also ordered a skewer set of domestic Miosakura chicken, which was decent. The salted chicken wings were particularly tasty. The salad with myoga and sesame oil was a good palate cleanser. I was looking forward to the tsukune (chicken meatballs), and they were delicious, especially when dipped in egg yolk. I spent about an hour there and enjoyed my time. It's a convenient place in Kabukicho for a casual meal and drink in the evening, especially for beer lovers.

Nagoya Cochin Foie Gras Sashimi is delicious! A must-order item! It tastes just like foie gras, rich and smooth. Chicken wing tips are large and flavorful, showcasing the unique taste of Mioji chicken. The karaage (fried chicken) made from local chicken is crispy on the outside and juicy inside. The vegetable tempura assortment includes shishito peppers, mini tomatoes, shiso leaves, sweet potatoes, and eringi mushrooms, all served generously. The price is surprisingly affordable, even including matcha salt on the side. The service is friendly and attentive, leaving a good impression. I discovered a delightful restaurant where you can easily enjoy Mioji chicken dishes.

I had some business at the government office nearby, so I decided to stop by this place with a friend. Since my friend smokes, we chose a place where smoking is allowed. I saw this place on Instagram and decided to give it a try. The customer base on Instagram and on food review websites like Tabelog seems to be different, probably. A cold beer after a day's work really hits the spot. They have a good selection of sake, including Dassai. The appetizers included three small dishes. The fresh oysters from Hyogo were delicious, with a nice touch of green onions. The homemade boiled dumplings were hot and filled with soup. They were chewy and probably took the longest to prepare. The deep-fried taro was flavorful with a rich broth and a sweet center. I personally really liked it. The skewers of liver, pork belly, chicken tail, special chicken thigh, and special beef intestines were all tasty and didn't have any unpleasant smell. The beef intestines were interesting, crunchy on the outside but fatty and juicy inside. The fried rice was good, although I was torn between ordering that or the chicken and egg bowl. The quail eggs were a fun snack. I usually don't eat quail eggs, but these were enjoyable. The service was good, and the cute waitress made our experience pleasant. The dishes came out promptly, which was appreciated. Overall, it's a good place for casual izakaya dining.

My daughter is about to graduate in March, so I decided to buy her a celebration gift and we went to Shinjuku together. After finishing shopping, we decided to have a lunch that turned into a drinking time. As we were looking for a place in Kabukicho, I remembered a bar that I had visited before. After finishing work early on the weekend, I stopped by a bar alone for a pre-drink before meeting up with friends. This bar in Kabukicho didn't give off a sketchy vibe like some others in the area. In hindsight, I was pretty impressed with my choice of venue. I ordered five skewers of the popular item, along with some rolled omelette and garlic fried. Even though I had plans afterwards, I ended up eating quite a bit, especially the garlic! The liver skewers were thick and had a nice chewy texture with a thick sauce. The "negima" skewers had onion instead of green onion, which added a nice sweetness. The tsukune skewers were of course a hit. But the highlight was the piping hot rolled omelette. It was fluffy with a rich dashi flavor, absolutely delicious. I had already decided to order it as soon as I saw it on the menu. They also had fresh oysters available and a wide variety of options with great value for money. The spacious seating was also a plus, making it very convenient.
