I wanted to eat more, but I also needed time to buy souvenirs, so I finished with soft serve ice cream. Rich soft mix for 390 yen, a mix of caramel and vanilla. The caramel was very rich, with a strong caramel flavor. The vanilla had a good balance of milkiness. Overall summary of my 6-night, 7-day refresh trip to Hokkaido. Total cost: 211,674 yen. Food expenses: 120,815 yen. Souvenirs: 33,800 yen + meals: 87,015 yen. Transportation: 60,188 yen. Hotel: 23,546 yen. Other expenses: 7,125 yen. Ate 34 meals + 1. Ate onigiri and sandwiches from convenience stores, so a total of 35 meals. Ate surprisingly well over the week. I felt like my stomach had shrunk due to recent dietary restrictions, but maybe my appetite was stronger. 7 days was quite long. The last 2 days were a bit tiring. I didn't have a spending limit this time, so I ate as much as I wanted, but spent nearly 90,000 yen on food alone. That's over 10,000 yen per day. Seafood bowls cost around 2,500 yen each. Visited many famous places, which may have influenced the higher prices. Ate almost everything I wanted to, but missed out on some dishes like ankake yakisoba and street food like corn bread and cream puffs. Didn't eat much ramen either. Each restaurant has its own unique twist on dishes. Hokkaido is unfair with its abundance of delicious food. I just got back, but I already want to go again. Over 50 years old, I want to eat a variety of foods while I still can. Will make sure to travel as much as possible. By the way, I gained about 4 kg. Despite walking over 15,000 steps daily and burning calories, I must have eaten more than I burned. Need to get my weight back on track.
