I used it for a casual drink. We ordered Gotipo potato, Unzen ham, two types of rakkyo, and two beers and two highballs each. It cost us around 3000 yen for two people. It opens early, so it's great for casual drinks or pre-drinks. We visited around 3 pm, and about 60-70% of the customers were there, so I think it's a popular place.

This is their third branch, with other locations in Daimyo and Nishijin. The concept is a lively and casual dining experience where you can enjoy food and drinks from lunchtime onwards. - Menu: Specializing in miso stewed skewers, the menu also offers a variety of appetizers that pair well with drinks. In line with the dining hall concept, they have a wide selection of noodles, rice bowls, and set meals. On this visit for pre-drinks, the dishes ordered were sesame amberjack, miso stewed pork tongue skewer, myoga and green pepper, draft beer, and sweet potato soda. - Impression: While waiting to meet friends for sushi in the Tenjin area, I stumbled upon this place and decided to try it out. The staff and customers were lively, creating a welcoming atmosphere for solo diners. Though I only tried three dishes, each one showed great taste and complemented the drinks well. The myoga and green pepper dish was particularly outstanding, with a perfect blend of myoga's aroma, green pepper's fresh bitterness, and salted kelp's saltiness. I was drawn to the adult cream soda and decided to visit. The can badge was cute too! The food was delicious and the alcohol went down smoothly. The garlic chips and powder on the dumplings were a bit spicy, but they paired well with the drinks and were tasty! The staff was very friendly and provided service with a smile, making the experience pleasant!

Watanabe Street "Shokudou Umeboshi" highly recommends having a casual drink during the day. This restaurant is located too close to my workplace in Tenjin Minami, it's too tempting. So, I decided to go in the early evening and started with a draft beer. Instead of their famous Niku Dofu (meat and tofu dish), which I have tried at other places, I opted for their Miso Stew Skewers. There were 4 types available, so I ordered one of each. First, I tried the Techan skewer (200 yen) and the Pork Tongue skewer (250 yen) which was soft and delicious. I also ordered the Green Onion (130 yen) and Cabbage (130 yen) skewers, which were so good that they hardly seemed like skewers. For my second drink, I tried the Tomato Sour, which was made with plenty of fresh tomato paste. I noticed them making it at the counter and it seemed like they use a lot of fresh tomatoes, which might make it costly depending on tomato prices. Overall, it was a great meal! I will probably come back again.

This time, we visited the restaurant Umeboshi in Fukuoka City, Chuo-ku, Watanabe-dori 5-25-11. It's located in a popular area and we decided to stop by as our first choice. I felt like having a toast with a bottle of beer when I walked in this type of restaurant. We ordered the famous skewered miso stew, Tecchan, and pork tongue. They were displayed near the entrance, so we couldn't resist trying them out. They were tender, flavorful, and perfect as appetizers. We also tried a mysterious dish called Emerald... which was a lot of chikuwa fried in green. We paired our meal with a refreshing Hojicha Sour for 470 yen. The flavored egg potato salad was delicious with a strong taste. The tempura bamboo shoots and potato butter were crispy and tasty, with the butter melting and seasoning well. It was a fun izakaya experience, and I look forward to trying more dishes next time. Thank you for the delicious meal.

The lively atmosphere of this newly opened establishment draws a crowd right from the opening. Despite its retro Showa-era diner style, the place is clean and modern, especially the restrooms. You can enjoy a regular-sized draft beer for 580 yen, which is reasonably priced for an izakaya. The menu offers dishes starting from a few hundred yen, perfect for those who enjoy drinking in moderation. One recommended dish is the "Today's white fish sashimi" for 580 yen, featuring thick slices of flounder with a firm texture, no fishy smell, and perfect for enjoying with just a sprinkle of salt. The freshly fried tempura options like bamboo shoots for 100 yen and shiso mentaiko for 250 yen are also delicious choices that go well with drinks. (2023.02.01) Last June, the 3rd store opened in Tenjin Minami, following Daimyo and Nishijin, was open for business from 15:00, which I was not aware of. Thanks to the valuable information that they are open for lunch, I decided to visit the shop immediately. Located in a cool spot off the bustling 'I'm donut?' where about 80 people were lining up, the small shop mainly consists of counter seats, but there are also 4 tables for 4 people at the back, and even more seats further inside. The retro feel of the menu strips on the wall suits the atmosphere of the town well. Although they offered set meals like chicken tempura and pork belly kimchi, the tempting smell of the meat tofu simmering in a large pot at the counter caught my attention, so I decided to try the "Hot! Meat Tofu," described as a specialty of Tenjin Minami. The hot tofu with well-infused flavor was topped with plenty of meat, although it was a bit disappointing that the meat had cooled a bit. However, the tender and flavorful taste was indeed a dish worthy of being a specialty. Although I could have chosen a set meal with rice, miso soup, and pickles, I opted for the "Seafood Rice Bowl," described as a lunch specialty, which was reasonably priced as a single item. It took about 30 minutes for the dish to be served as the ingredients were being cut after ordering, but I was able to enjoy the firm texture of the sesame amberjack and the delicious sesame sauce. Despite the fact that the ingredients were only sesame amberjack, I was able to enjoy it with freshly cooked hot rice, but it was a bit disappointing.

I wanted to have a Japanese lunch nearby, but unfortunately it was closed. I came across this lunch menu and decided to try it out. The interior of the restaurant is like a typical izakaya. There are 4 lunch options, and according to reviews, the "nokke-don" is popular. I chose the "daily special set meal" as I was not aware of the popular dish. The daily special set meal cost 800 yen and on that day, the main dish was "yellowtail with daikon radish", which was served in 2-3 minutes. You can have extra rice. The yellowtail with daikon was well-cooked and delicious. It was nice to have large slices of fish instead of scraps. The daikon was also tasty. I really liked it, even though it's not a regular item on the lunch menu. The potato salad seemed homemade and although it had few ingredients, it tasted good. The rice was shiny and delicious, and you could have seconds. The meal also came with miso soup and pickles. It had been a while since I had yellowtail with daikon, and it was delicious. The tasty rice was also a plus. I wish there was one more side dish, but considering the price of 800 yen including tax, I can't complain.

I went on a business trip to Hakata. Hakata is full of delicious food and I'm excited. On this day, the first place I went to was "Shokudo Umeboshi" in Tenjin. It's located near Robata Raikyo and just before Riverside Komatsu. The street is getting lively. As the name suggests, the casual atmosphere of the dining room is very nice. The young staff members are fresh and cheerful, and there are many female customers. The recommended dishes at the restaurant are the Niku-Dofu (simmered tofu with meat) and the Kushimi Miso (miso stew with skewers)! The Niku-Dofu is a must-try. It's delicious and flavorful. Other creative dishes are also enjoyable. Don't forget to try the Emerald! It's a fun, delicious, and reasonably priced restaurant!

Seafood Rice Bowl at Umeboshi Tenjin Minami I visited Umeboshi Tenjin Minami on October 31, 2022 (Monday). While observing the long line for the popular I'm Donuts, I entered a side street extending south from the signal of Tenjin Minami Station in Fukuoka City's Chuo Ward. The restaurant is located where there used to be a Chinese soba restaurant, Gokyo Aru. There are four lunch menu options, and I chose the Seafood Rice Bowl (limited quantity). The restaurant opens at 12:00 PM, and they also offer daytime drinking. There are appetizing snacks lined up for drinks. The Seafood Rice Bowl I ordered cost 900 yen (tax included) and came with miso soup, pickles, and a raw egg yolk. Free rice refills are available. The main dish, the Seafood Rice Bowl, was impressive with a tower of sashimi! It also included a large rolled omelet and crab stick tempura. I started by eating the crab stick and rolled omelet, then poured sauce over the sashimi tower and added the egg yolk on top. It was incredibly delicious, and I left the lunch completely satisfied. I was drawn into the bright interior and decided to enter the store. It seemed like they had just recently opened, as there were many congratulatory messages displayed. The staff and customers were young and energetic at this izakaya. They offered a variety of dishes, and none of them were disappointing. There is a restaurant called "Umeboshi" in both Daimyo and Tenjin Minami. While Daimyo is not open for lunch, the one in Tenjin Minami is open. When you enter, you are greeted by a friendly female staff saying "Welcome". I sat at the counter and saw a handwritten whiteboard menu with a limited quantity "seafood rice bowl". I ordered it and when it arrived, it was loaded with seafood, with a separate plate of egg yolk. I dug into the top of the seafood and added the egg yolk, which flowed beautifully into the rice. It looked delicious. I drizzled some sweet soy sauce and enjoyed it. The side dishes of egg omelet and crab stick tempura created a mound on the side, allowing for a generous serving of seafood on top. The rice portion was not too large, with about half of it being seafood. It made me feel quite luxurious. They also served ice-cold water in a beer mug, which was a nice touch. I finished by paying with PayPay and was attended by a friendly staff member.

I visited the dining hall Umeboshi located near Tenjin Minami Station in Fukuoka City. I had heard the name a few times before and decided to visit after hearing about its opening last month. It was past 1 pm but there were a few customers inside, so I was seated at a table. There were about 5 lunch options available, and the daily special was simmered fish, but I decided to go with the fried chicken set meal. The fried chicken set meal cost 750 yen. First of all, I realized later that a side dish was missing from the fried chicken set meal. I didn't notice until I got home. It was a bit embarrassing to have to mention it. I wonder if they serve it without checking the menu...? It seemed like it came with something okay, so I was disappointed but there was nothing I could do. I prefer fried chicken with a crispy texture and light seasoning, so this one was okay for me. It was decent. It was definitely lacking with just rice. However, the fact that you could get a refill of rice was a plus. It was helpful that they served water in a jug. The atmosphere was like a casual izakaya, and they had a variety of other affordable menu items as well. Of course, you can also drink alcohol from lunchtime. Thank you for the meal.

Today's dinner was here, and although it was a bit far from Daimyo, the Tenjin Minami branch is open❗ I visited right away, starting with ordering meat tofu, kinako soy milk highball, seafood rice bowl, and miso stewed tecchan. We were curious about this place for a while, so my husband, daughter, and I decided to visit. We arrived in the evening and found the restaurant bustling with a group of customers enjoying a party. Even though we didn't have a reservation, they seated us at a table and we ordered various dishes. The prices were reasonable, but the portions were proportional to that. It might not be enough for those looking for a hearty meal, but it was just right for us who were there for a light dinner. The restaurant is located near Daimaru, but it's a bit hidden from the main street so it's not very noticeable. There is another branch in Nishijin, so we would like to try that one too!
