Today, I visited Ikoi Shokudo. Just from the name, it exudes a nostalgic Showa era vibe. As I entered, I noticed the entrance was covered with a screen door, which added to the retro feel. Surprisingly, the interior was very clean and well-maintained. The menu was simple, offering udon, soba, rice bowls, and various set meals. I ordered the fried chicken set meal, and as I waited, I could hear the sound of the chicken frying - it sounded delicious. When it arrived, I was amazed by the fried chicken. It was not the usual crispy and juicy type, but rather crunchy and firm. However, it was surprisingly tasty, almost like a crispy snack. Along with rice, miso soup, salad, vegetables, macaroni, and pumpkin stew, all for 700 yen, it was a satisfying meal. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the restaurant well past lunchtime. I had the chicken cutlet set meal. It had a strong taste of home-cooked food, very nostalgic. The side dishes were unique.

I have never been around this area before. It is located right by the road, so it is easy to find, but I never come this way so I didn't know about it at all. The name "Ikoitei" is quite nice, I like it. Lately, there are a lot of strange Katakana-named shops that I can't remember at all, but a clear and easy-to-understand name like "Ikoitei" is good. There is a signboard with many menu items written on it, which is also easy to understand and nice. There are quite a lot of lunch menu options, so it's nice to have choices. Surprisingly, there was no daily special menu. Usually, most shops have a daily special for lunch, but it seems like this shop has the same menu all the time. From the many lunch menu options, I chose the grilled meat set. I was torn between the pork ginger and the grilled meat, but I often see pork ginger for lunch so I went with the grilled meat. You can get a rice refill, but they brought quite a lot of rice from the start. Even when I asked for a refill, it was the same amount as the first serving. I see, this is a shop with a high male clientele. There were no customers, so I couldn't tell the customer base, but there were many manga books in the shop, so it seems like there are a lot of male customers. The generous portion of rice was delicious and I finished it all. The grilled meat was decently tasty. The side dish was a simple boiled vegetable. Grilled meat, free rice refill, miso soup, and a side dish for 650 yen left me satisfied. It's a bit far away so I don't have many chances to go, but with the variety of menu items at this price, I will try to go again.
