For those in the know>^_^< Sukiya at Fujiidera AEON. Back in the day, Fujiidera's AEON was known as Jusco, and it was all the rage along with Nichii nearby>^_^< Fujiidera was thriving back then, with Fujiidera Ballpark also around. Those were the days✨ Over time, Jusco became AEON, and Nichii closed down to make way for apartments... There used to be a Dom Dom Burger in front of Nichii too... After redevelopment, the new AEON still had Sukiya, much to everyone's surprise>^_^< You might not be interested in Fujiidera's history, but knowing this background makes Sukiya taste even better. Sprinkle some pepper and enjoy m(__)m By the way, who was the genius behind creating that spoon-fork hybrid?>^_^<

It was lunchtime but not too crowded, so we were able to order quickly. We were given a buzzer and our food was ready in no time. My daughter eats like an adult, so she had a full portion of noodles, and my son, who also eats a lot, had ramen and fried rice. I was hungry too, so I had ramen and fried rice as well. The waiter confirmed our order, "Three ramen, two fried rice. Is that all?" It felt strange to hear "Is that all?" Maybe it's okay to order items separately instead of as a set? The ramen had a tonkotsu-like flavor but wasn't too heavy, and it had a unique taste that we couldn't find elsewhere. It was delicious. My son, who usually finishes his food, couldn't eat much this time due to a cold and allergies affecting his nose. I ended up eating his leftovers even though I was already full.

Fujidera AEON. It had been a long time since I last visited, and it was my first time since the renovation. The location of the Sugakiya store had changed, which was expected. Still, the prices are cheap!! Ramen for 390 yen!! For a 5-year-old, there is a Kids Set with juice for 470 yen, which includes half portions of ramen and mixed rice, with a toy included at this price, it's cheap~ *You can choose your favorite toy. Even if two people eat, it's only 860 yen (*^^*). The light soup is easy for children to eat, and the mixed rice is not delicious, but the spoon becomes a fork?? For adults, for children, the little ones were delighted♡ It's inside AEON, so you can earn WAON points. Payment was also possible with a different credit card.

We had our meal at the food court. We tried the ramen (tax included 390 yen). The soup was very light and the price was very affordable.

This is a ramen shop with a red signboard in the food court. You place your order and pay at the counter, then receive a pager-like device to wait at your table. When your food is ready, the pager will buzz to let you know. You exchange the pager for your food at the counter and then carry it to your table. After finishing your meal, you return your dishes to the designated area. I had a mini ramen, which is about half the size of a regular bowl. It was a perfect snack portion. The soup had a salt flavor with a pork and seafood base. The noodles were slightly curly and thin. The toppings included chashu, menma, and green onions. Overall, it was a satisfying meal. The ramen at Sugakiya is a popular dish among the locals in Aichi Prefecture. I only lived in Aichi for about five years, but I can see why it's considered a soul food there. I had the mini ramen for 260 yen.

Located on the 1st floor of the AEON Fujiidera Shopping Center along Prefectural Route 12.
▼About the Shop▼
Sugakiya is a long-established chain that was founded in Nagoya after the war and currently operates mainly in the Chubu and Kansai regions as a fast food restaurant in food courts. Their specialty is ramen, and their ramen fork is famous.
▼Menu▼
They offer various types of ramen and dessert items like soft serve ice cream.
▼Food Ordered▼
▽Rich Flavor Sugakiya Ramen 520 yen▽
A very simple-looking ramen with small slices of chashu, green onions, bamboo shoots, and seasoned egg. The soup is a blend of familiar Japanese-style tonkotsu broth with katsuobushi and seafood flavors. It has a rich and creamy taste with a milky undertone, maintaining a mild and flavorful broth. The straight, medium-thick noodles are cooked just right, providing a simple yet satisfying texture. The chashu is factory-made and on the smaller side, adding a simple touch to the dish.
▼Impressions▼
Sugakiya is a popular fast food chain originating from Nagoya, with a presence in the Chubu region and beyond. Known for their Japanese-style tonkotsu ramen, they are also famous for their original ramen fork that combines a spoon and fork. In addition to ramen, their sweet treats like soft serve ice cream are also well-loved. I visited their branch at AEON Fujiidera this time and tried their limited-time rich flavor Sugakiya Ramen. As the name suggests, it had a creamy and intense taste with a milky richness that was quite intriguing. I would love to try more of their seasonal offerings in the future.

We stopped by while shopping with our family (*´꒳`*) We love Sukiya as a family, so we went there excitedly. The food was very delicious (*´﹃`*), but it felt like the service was a bit careless, maybe because they were short-staffed. While waiting, I couldn't help but notice the clumsiness of the staff...

I just had a sudden craving for it after a long time and came back from Nara. The nostalgic taste... I also ordered fried rice. I'm amazed at how they can deliver this unique taste at this price. I am deeply moved by Sugakiya, who keeps costs as low as possible without compromising on taste. Since the Nara branch has already closed, I am eagerly waiting for it to reopen.

The unchanged deliciousness of Sugakiya Ramen from the past made me want to eat it again. I searched for a store while out and about and found "AEON Fujiidera Store" which was a HIT! I decided to have lunch here. The store is located on the first floor food court. I ordered the "Meat Ramen (430 yen)" which I couldn't afford back in my student days. It came with a luxurious 5 pieces of mysterious round meat! The pork bone soup with a Japanese flavor and yellow noodles... both the taste and appearance haven't changed much from the past and everything was nostalgically delicious. I was quite hungry so I also ordered the "Side dish rice and dessert set (280 yen)". There wasn't much "side dish" in it, but it was still enjoyable (lol). I chose the chocolate sundae as my dessert. I wish there was a little more chocolate sauce, but... Despite some minor criticisms, my love for Sugakiya remains unchanged! Thank you for the meal. 3 minutes walk north from Fujii-dera Station on the Kintetsu Minami-Osaka Line. There is a multi-level parking lot available.

Hanamaru Udon has a new ramen menu item - Sugakiya Ramen for 330 yen. It's consistently cheap, but the taste has become stronger. The spoon they provide is unusually large. Sugakiya has been closing down a lot lately, so it's best to visit before it's too late. Sugakiya at AEON Fujiidera Shopping Center in Osaka.

After eating Taiwanese mixed noodles for dinner on the way home from work, I felt a bit unsatisfied and ended up having another meal at a Sugakiya, which seems to do everything in the Hokuriku region. It's a chain with about 30 stores as of March 2021, and there's something endearing about it. Ordering is simple - only ramen for 330 yen (tax included)! I decided to savor it slowly this time. The ramen looks like Acecook's wonton noodles, but the taste is quite different. It has a strong seafood flavor and a light taste soup base that seems to be a combination of pork bone and fish broth. It tasted similar to instant noodles you can have at home, but the quality is good for the price. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.
Fun fact 1: Sugakiya's main store is in Nagoya, and it has about 180 stores in Aichi Prefecture.
Fun fact 2: I looked up the number of stores in Osaka and found 11 stores.
Fun fact 3: I also checked for stores in Kagawa Prefecture, but unfortunately, there are none.

Moved to Ion Fujidera, went shopping at the relocated Joshin, and on the way back, stopped by Sugakiya which was revived due to the requests of Fujidera citizens. Ordered the rich flavored Sugakiya ramen with an extra topping of one pork slice. When it arrived, I realized that it already came with one pork slice, so it became two slices. Sprinkled some ramen pepper on top. The refreshing tonkotsu flavor with a strong kick of pepper was still the same. The design has changed a bit to make it easier for even small children to eat by themselves, but the spoon-fork combo is still there. The one pork slice is more like the kind used for okonomiyaki, with less fat compared to the ones used for okonomiyaki.

I tried the ramen set at Sugakiya, which has a store in the food court of Aeon Fujidera. First of all, when Aeon Fujidera store reopened, the traffic congestion in the surrounding area was terrible. I used to use that road often for work, but I started avoiding it because the traffic was so bad. That's how amazing the customer attraction of Aeon Fujidera store is. And in the food court, I noticed Sugakiya. They have unique ramen and miso stewed udon that I love, but the main items in the food court were ramen and rice bowls. I ordered the rich-flavored Sugakiya ramen and direct-fire grilled pork bowl set. The ramen was described as rich, but it was actually quite normal in richness. I didn't feel any richness at all. The soup was clear and easy to drink, and even after finishing it, I didn't feel the richness. I couldn't really evaluate the rice bowl and salad. They didn't have any particular features and I didn't feel any commitment. As for the direct-fire grilled pork bowl, the pork felt like it was made of scraps and had a strong dry feeling. The taste was good, but the appearance was a bit disappointing. With this menu configuration, people might get tired of it relatively quickly. The ramen and rice bowl lacked any distinguishing features. In this day and age, just having the name Sugakiya is not enough to attract customers, so I would like to see more menu items that truly embody the spirit of Sugakiya. I personally love Sugakiya's "Miso Stewed Udon". That really feels like the taste of Aichi Prefecture.

Sugakiya Aeon Fujiidera Shopping Center Store (Fujiidera City, Osaka Prefecture) opened in 1946 in Aichi, Nagoya as a "sweet tooth shop," and two years later, it started serving ramen and changed its name to "Sugakiya," which led to its current chain expansion. Despite ongoing closures due to labor shortages, many people seem to be happy that it remained open even after the Aeon reconstruction.

Beef tsukemen ¥560
- Soup: soy sauce, pork bone, seafood
- Noodles: medium thickness, wavy, high hydration
- Toppings: beef, menma, spinach
Tiger Report:
The noodles, with a seemingly transparent white skin, are 1.5 times thicker than those used in regular ramen. They have a strong resilience when lifted with chopsticks, offering a chewy and bouncy texture that gives a satisfying mouthfeel. The dipping sauce, with a subtle aroma of pork bone and seafood, combines the mellow sweetness of pork umami with the fragrant flavor of dried seafood, balanced with a sharp return and a soft garlic punch, enhanced by acidity. The spinach adds a light touch, while the beef and sweet-savory spiciness change the topping's expression. We enjoyed the tsukemen, which is loved by a wide range of people for its cost performance and easy-to-eat nature.

Ramen (Tonkotsu + Salt 320 yen) ★★★ The soup is a fish-flavored salt taste based on tonkotsu. The noodles are slightly wavy thin straight noodles. The toppings include sliced pork belly chashu, green onions, and bamboo shoots. This shop is run by Sugaki Systems and opened on September 14th inside Aeon Fujiidera. The soup made from tonkotsu has a moderate amount of oil, with a slightly salty sauce and a subtle taste of tonkotsu and seafood flavor. The noodles are made in-house and have a moist and chewy texture. The small chashu slice adds a refreshing touch. There are also set menus available with dessert included. 2019.09.14 Sugakiya Aeon Fujiidera SC Store [Main Menu] Ramen: 320 yen Egg Ramen: 370 yen Meat Ramen: 400 yen Special Ramen: 450 yen Vegetable Ramen: 450 yen Spicy Ramen: 430 yen Tantanmen: 490 yen Tonkotsu Shoyu Ramen: 450 yen W Beef Tsukemen: 560 yen Kids Set: 490 yen Large Serving: +100 yen Umami Beef 40g: +150 yen 80g: +270 yen 5 Meat Slices: +100 yen Soft Boiled Egg: +50 yen

I visited the newly opened "Sugakiya Ion Fujiidera Shopping Center Store" on September 14th and tried their "Ramen (320 yen)". This branch of Sugakiya is located in the food court of Ion Fujiidera Shopping Center, nearest to Kintetsu Fujiidera Station. The menu includes Ramen (320 yen), Special Ramen (450 yen), Vegetable Ramen (450 yen), Spicy Negi Ramen (430 yen), Egg Ramen (370 yen), Meat Ramen (400 yen), Vegetable-filled Tantanmen (490 yen), Beef Tsukemen (560 yen), Double Beef Tsukemen (680 yen), Half-boiled Egg (+50 yen), Menma (+100 yen), Meat (+100 yen), Negi (+100 yen), and Large Serving (+100 yen). The pork bone broth has a low viscosity and a slightly salted flavor with a gentle pork bone aroma, creating a mild and light taste without any unpleasant smell. The slightly wavy medium-thin noodles have a good throat feel, a chewy texture, and appropriate firmness. The Chashu pork is just the right firmness and saltiness.

It had been about 10 years since I last ate at the Aeon Mall in Fujiidera. The taste seemed different this time, maybe they changed something. The broth was too strong and it felt spicy. While waiting next to the store after placing my order, I could see two staff members making the ramen. They were pouring what seemed like powdered broth into the soup. It made me wonder what it was. There was a long line because the number of call buttons was limited, and if customers didn't return them after picking up their order, new orders wouldn't be taken. Also, only two people were making the ramen, and they had to keep coming to check the order tickets at the counter, which made the workflow feel inefficient. I hope to visit again if they improve these issues.
