On this day, I decided to explore a new lunch spot without any specific plan. As I was walking down Funadaikō-dōri, I noticed a menu sign for "Washoku Junsai Tenri" that caught my eye. Detox effect, beauty effect, mental stability? What could this be all about? The restaurant is located on the 3rd floor of Dōjima Linden Building. The front of this building is always filled with lunch menu signs, but I had missed this one. The restaurant is small and cozy, with tables in the front and counter seats facing the kitchen in the back. I was seated at the counter seats. The interior was all women, perhaps drawn in by that phrase? The healthy dishes here featured a lettuce hot pot using a crystal pot as the main highlight of the lunch menu. The lunch set included the lettuce hot pot with a daily main dish, two small side dishes, black rice, pickles, and dessert for 1,000 yen. On the table, there was a portable stove and a crystal pot that looked like a glass bowl filled with lettuce, green onions, and chicken. This was to be simmered slowly. The crystal pot is said to have excellent heat conductivity. While waiting for the pot to cook, I enjoyed the daily pork piccata dish. It came with a side salad that was fresh and healthy with baby greens, mizuna, and corn. The thinly sliced pork and egg were mild and delicious. When the pot started boiling, a staff member kindly informed me. They also provided a small dish of black pepper and ground sesame to add to the hot pot. The soup was simple and delicious, made with chicken broth and salt. The lettuce was crunchy, the chicken tender, and the flavors were subtle. It was a perfect dish to warm up on a cold day. The black rice was truly healthy. The crystal pot is said to have detoxifying effects, so I wonder if eating meals like this regularly could help with weight loss. The dessert was vanilla ice cream, a nice touch to end the meal. I didn't pay much attention to the menu sign before entering, but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the lunch. Thank you for the meal.
