Opened in January 2023, I visited this restaurant for the first time. I had only bad memories of "Iekei Ramen" in the past. A ramen place in Honmachi didn't suit me at all. I was curious about what "Iekei" actually meant, so I looked it up. I found out that it's a hearty style of ramen with tonkotsu shoyu broth, topped with seaweed, spinach, and more. That's all I knew. On this day, I was lured into this new place by two older men who walked past me and went inside. The first thing that confused me was the ticket machine right in front of me. I was happy to see that they only accepted cash, no mobile payments. With the help of a friendly staff member, I finally made my purchase. I ordered the Miso Ramen and Fried Rice set for 1,050 yen. The Miso Ramen alone was 880 yen, so the fried rice was only 170 yen, a great deal. As I waited for my order, I looked around the colorful interior and the various condiments on the table. There were pickled cucumbers, diced radish, doubanjiang, grated ginger, garlic, vinegar, white sesame, and even soy sauce for flavoring. A very thoughtful setup indeed. When the ramen arrived, I noticed the three square sheets of roasted seaweed standing out. The ramen also had the essential spinach, cabbage, bean sprouts, a half-boiled egg, and oval-shaped holey chashu. It was a lively bowl of ramen. The soup had a mildly spicy miso flavor, with a clean umami taste. It was not heavy on the tonkotsu flavor, which was a pleasant surprise. The noodles were thicker and chewier than expected, providing a good bite. I tried adding radish and wrapping the noodles in seaweed, which made the eating experience more enjoyable. The fried rice was exactly to my liking, with perfect balance of saltiness, fragrance, texture, and ingredients. It could stand alone as a great lunch option. The kitchen had two male staff members, and the dining area had two female staff members, all providing friendly and attentive service. This is a great restaurant. Next time, I'll try the vegetable ramen. Interestingly, the guest next to me who ordered ramen was taking advantage of the "all-you-can-eat rice" option, getting multiple refills. This place is definitely worth the money, and you'll leave with a full belly. Thank you for the meal.

I left Menya Yoshikawa and headed north on Shinsaibashi-suji towards Honmachi-dori, then I went to Ikkenya. Along the way, Machida Shoten, which used to be a local store, had 6 customers. It is located 100 meters from the nearest Honmachi Station Exit 25. It opened on January 16th of this year. This is an outlet of LJF Co., Ltd., which operates Nakano-ya, so it seems to be a local store type. You purchase ramen (soy sauce) regular size for 780 yen and nori for 100 yen with firm noodles at the touch panel ticket machine on the right side of the entrance. The data seems to be sent to the kitchen, so there is basically no need to talk until the noodles are served. The seating area consists of a reverse L-shaped counter and 4 tables for 2 people each. The interior is long and narrow in shape. They seemed to have considered the large baggage, so they offered a table seat. I sat at the second table with my back to the entrance as instructed. There was a young man managing the kitchen. The water is self-service. A pitcher and cups were placed on the table. There were dividers only at the counter. Grated ginger and chopped green onions were available. There was also a one-shot measure for a one-liter bottle. They also had century egg as a snack and oil-drizzled chicken as a dish. There are 4 types of evening drink sets. If you order, the best option might be Option B "2 drinks + 1 snack" for 900 yen. It's also available for lunch. Next, I checked the kitchen. They had a small-sized pot and used a tebo for boiling noodles. The noodles were served in about 5 minutes. The soup was on the lighter side, not as creamy as the color suggests, with a pork bone-based soup. The soy sauce flavor was also weak. So I added some seasoning, but since the base was weak, the effect was not noticeable. The chicken oil was minimal, and the flavor was not prominent. The soup was served hot. The noodles were medium-thick straight noodles from Mikawa-ya. The boiling was firm, with a slight chewiness. They seemed to be an unusual combination with the local store type. The noodles were overpowering and didn't match well with the soup. The chashu was pork belly, slightly larger in size, with a normal thickness. The fat was mostly removed, and the seasoning was light, giving it a slightly refreshing taste. The spinach was an appropriate amount and soft. It had no bitterness and tasted normal. The nori was an extra 5 sheets, slightly thinner. The flavor was normal. When dipped in the soup, it was weak but did not break apart easily. The chopped green onions were minimal, with a crunchy texture. There was no spiciness. I added diced onions in the middle. They were roughly chopped but small in size. The taste was not very noticeable, but the texture was a good palate cleanser. The area is an office district. I think it will be reasonably busy during lunchtime, but for a casual drink in the evening, it might be okay as a second stop. There are only tables for 2 people, so it may not be very relaxing for a leisurely drink. However, there are many other restaurants around, so please do your best.

I have always liked ramen from Machida Shouten, but recently I tried the tantanmen from Ikkenya, a new ramen restaurant that opened this year. Every time I went, it was always sold out. I was not sure if it was because of its popularity or lack of preparation. With a mix of anticipation and anxiety, I decided to give it another try. Today, I finally got to order the tantanmen, which normally comes with a boiled egg. It was so delicious that it surpassed even specialty ramen shops. It had a rich flavor with just the right amount of spiciness that makes it addictive.

●I would like to go again and it would be a candidate if I pass by nearby. A normal, delicious ramen shop. Next time, I'll try the salt flavor. ●Ordered Ramen: Soy Sauce, 780 yen. Noodle firmness: normal, Sauce richness: normal, Chicken oil: normal. ●Soup: The default on the pre-payment machine is salt flavor, so I chose soy sauce for Yokohama-style ramen. It's a creamy pork bone soy sauce without any unpleasant smell, with a strong saltiness and a rich flavor. I like it. ●Noodles: Thick, wavy noodles that are smooth. The balance is good with the strong soup. ●Toppings: Chashu, seaweed, spinach. On the table, there are onions, garlic, doubanjiang, vinegar, grated ginger for flavor customization. ●Cost performance: 780 yen, rice is free. Good cost performance with rice included at this price. ●Atmosphere: The new store is clean. Since it's in a business district, all customers were male. ●Other: Many users are struggling with how to use the ticket machine. On a different day, I ordered a set meal, but I couldn't choose options like soup richness or noodle firmness. In the end, I had to verbally communicate it, but the staff didn't ask for it.

Honmachi Ikengya February 18, 2023, 09:09 Located north of Honmachi Station, between Yotsubashi Street and the Hanshin Expressway, this ramen shop recently opened. It used to be a nice place called Nabachan, then changed to a kushikatsu restaurant called Tsukasa, and now it's a ramen shop. At Ikengya, you buy tickets from a vending machine. I tried the vegetable ramen for 880 yen, choosing soy sauce flavor. They also offer flavored eggs. During lunch, they give a small rice as a service. There was a mysterious melody looping in the restaurant. Source: Fura Fura Kansai blog

Ramen (Soy Sauce) (Tonkotsu + Soy Sauce 780 yen) ★★★☆ The soup is a soy sauce flavor based on tonkotsu broth. The noodles are slightly wavy medium-thick straight noodles. The toppings include sliced pork chashu, chopped white negi, spinach, and seaweed. This restaurant opened in the vicinity of Osaka Metro Honmachi on November 16th. The soup is made from tonkotsu broth with a moderate amount of oil added, giving it a creamy texture with a sharp soy sauce flavor and a salty taste without any unpleasant pork smell. The noodles are made by Sakai Seimen, and despite their short length, they have a chewy texture and a glossy surface, making them easy to enjoy. The thick slice of chashu has a good meaty texture and is well seasoned, making it very enjoyable. You can adjust the firmness of the noodles, the richness of the sauce, and the amount of chicken oil to your liking. You can also enjoy different flavors by using the provided chopped onions, garlic, grated ginger, doubanjiang, chili oil, pepper, and soy sauce. They offer free rice service all day. Today, I had to go to Honcho for work again... After finishing my morning tasks, it was past 1:00 p.m. and I was hungry. Let's have lunch. Come to think of it, there was a ramen restaurant that opened nearby. Let's go check it out. So, I visited Ikenga House. I arrived at the restaurant around 1:15 p.m. There was a blackboard outside with the bold letters "WELCOME" and a notice of the special opening price. 780 yen → 550 yen, and if you order ramen, you can eat rice for free. Quite a bold pricing strategy. The restaurant was quite busy inside. I decided to give it a try. I entered the restaurant. It was almost full. I purchased a meal ticket at the ticket machine near the entrance. I selected the 550 yen standard ramen. You can choose the flavor preferences at the ticket machine. I chose firm noodles, normal sauce intensity, extra chicken oil, soy sauce flavor, and normal size. A female staff member guided me to my seat. I handed over my meal ticket when seated. At that time, they asked if I wanted the rice for free, and I said yes. After checking out the various condiments, I waited for about 10 minutes... Here it is! The standard ramen and rice! The visual appearance was typical of a house-style ramen. Let's start with the soup... It was a typical house-style pork bone soy sauce soup. Not bad, not great. However, it was a bit lukewarm, which was a bit disappointing. The noodles... They were medium-thick wavy flat noodles. Since I asked for them firm, they had a slightly chewy texture. It was also typical of a house-style ramen, neither good nor bad. The chashu... It was a standard size and thickness. It was quite cold when I put it in my mouth. I quickly dunked it in the soup to warm it up. Once it was warmed up, it was again neither good nor bad. The rice... It had a slightly dry texture. Eating it as it is might not be great, but it was fine when soaked in the soup with seaweed. Rolling it in seaweed with garlic and chili bean paste on top, and dipping it in the soup, the junky deliciousness pierced through my brain. It was interesting to have a variety of condiments and having chopped onions was unusual. There were recommended custom recipes in the eating guide, but I preferred to enjoy changing the flavors as I pleased. I ate heartily and finished my meal. Even during regular business hours, being able to eat ramen for 780 yen and have unlimited rice, it seems like a great deal for those who want to eat a lot. Thank you for the meal.

I visited "Ikkenya," which opened on 1/23/16 in Nishi Ward, Osaka City, for lunch for the first time. It was my first visit on the 3rd day of its opening. The restaurant is located a short 2-minute walk from exit 25 of Yotsubashi Line at Honmachi Station, which is served by three Osaka Metro lines. I arrived around 12:20 pm on a weekday. There were 7 people in line in front of me at the ticket machine, but I was able to sit at the counter in about 10 minutes. By the time I purchased my ticket, there were over 10 people waiting behind me. At the time of leaving around 12:50 pm, I had purchased tickets totaling 660 yen, which included: - Regular ramen 550 yen (discounted price for the first 3 days, originally 780 yen) - 5 quail eggs for 110 yen *Free rice was also provided. I received my ramen in about 9 minutes. The regular ramen with extra oil and soy sauce had a customizable option at the ticket machine. The soup was a typical house-style soy sauce broth with medium-thick straight noodles. The toppings included spinach, 3 sheets of seaweed, and chashu, with an additional 5 quail eggs. The taste was like a standard chain restaurant's house-style ramen, decently delicious. However, even though I requested extra oil, the chicken oil flavor was not particularly strong, which was a bit disappointing. This new restaurant in an area without many house-style ramen options offers a decent choice when craving this type of ramen in the vicinity.

Honmachi Ramen in Nishi-ku, Umemachi 1-chome, is a new ramen restaurant located on the right side after turning east at the first traffic light north of the intersection of Hommachi-dori and Yotsuhashi-suji (Shinano Bridge). The reviewer visited on the second day of opening with a friend and ordered a soy sauce ramen with seasoned egg and 5 gyoza. The service was a bit slow, but the ramen had a rich and slightly sweet pork bone broth that was enhanced by adding garlic and ginger. The gyoza could have been better, but overall, the reviewer enjoyed the meal.

The shop that I had been interested in since it was under construction has finally opened. Next to it is a popular Chinese restaurant known for its gyoza and set meals. I ordered the opening special ramen for 550 yen. The menu offers a variety of rice dishes, including fried rice which is quite rare. I also tried the fried chicken. The white rice is complimentary. The ramen comes in soy sauce and salt flavors, and I chose salt. I could also choose the firmness of the noodles and the richness of the chicken oil. I was a bit skeptical about having rice with ramen, but the rice was delicious! The fried chicken was juicy and tasty. As for the ramen, it had a nice balance of pork bone broth and was rich. The noodles were chewy, and the thick slices of pork were tender. With plenty of spinach and nori, it was a satisfying bowl of ramen.

The house ramen at this place is just right for me, as I've started to find heavy flavors overwhelming. I like the subtle aroma of doubanjiang.
